I like it sprinkled on cheerios. Add bananas or raisins. Probably good on many cereals.

Sounds like you are underestimating your calorie needs to start with. You selected exercise 1-3 days, but you work out 5-6 days. Check out the Eat More to Weigh Less group and the videos on You Tube.

My favorite is a Champion PowerBack. I bought one at a outlet store and then after I knew I liked it, I bought a couple more at the best price I could find on the internet. You can find reviews on the internet. One I read was by an aerobics instructor who likes the style, but said that when she is really sweaty, she has to…

I'm a newbie to counting calories and weight lifting at the same time. When I was younger, I could execise, including lifting and gauge my food intake without counting calories and lose weight. Now that I am older, that doesn't work. I am lifting and counting calories. I get HUNGRY too. If I feel I need to eat more after…

Hi, I did MFP for a while and the scale said I lost 6 pounds. Then I was off the plan while dealing with dental issues. I am back on using the eat more 2 weigh less approach of not cutting too many calories. I especially make sure I eat enough when working out. I can't say if this will work for me. But, I suggest you check…

Thanks for the inspiration. I started out with MFP using the standard settings and struggling with how to figure in my exercise calories especially from lifting. And I was proud to eat as few calories as possible. Then I found EM2WL and am trying a higher daily count based on my body fat and the katch BMR. I'm still…

Thanks for all the info and your dedicated participation. I found your spreadsheet and am completing the Future You tab. I love the daily spot check and the weekly spot check looks helpful too. I was wishing MFP had a running weekly calories vs BMR data output. One question: What is the Starting BMR data field in the…

HI, I'm jumping in hoping for clarification here that I can apply to my situation.: So you need to start the math with Katch BMR, which requires a bodyfat % at least about 5% accurate. [I had a BOD POD body fat percentage test and just figured my BMR as you suggested using Katch-Mcardle and it is 100 calories lower than…

I read through the responses and agree with the TDEE and BMR advice. When execising, eat back at least enough calories to ALWAYS be above your BMR. Also, check out the Fitness Pal (fp) group: eat more to weigh less. There are good videos on you tube and advice in fp. Advice there will help you make a custom setting in fp…

You've been given lots of great advice already. I agree with the Quorn brand of vegetarian convenience foods. I also like Amy's. I find Vegetarian Times magazine to be a great source for recipes and a worthwhile subscription to have. I also modify Cooking LIght recipes to be vegetarian if they include meat. Being…
