  • Do you think you are burning a lot more calories lately? I would definitely adjust your eating because it does seem that your body needs the extra fuel. And really, truly believe that muscle weighs more than fat.... Not to mention, if you watch "The Biggest Loser," you know that the contestants always drop off the second…
  • Drink some protein drinks with milk. I have one every morning after I work out, and it's delicious!
  • Great job! You should be proud of yourself!
  • I have been seriously running for about two years now, doing about 6 miles three days a week and a longer run, like 8-10 miles one day a week. Although it is not my favorite thing to do, I do know that I have run these distances tons and tons of times and that I can do it again. If I need an extra push, music really helps.…
  • Happy birthday! Nice job, and you have pretty legs!
  • Thanks for the encouragement. Sometimes I want to slack on my lifting, but your results definitely mean something!
  • I have two dogs: an 8 year old yellow lab and a 1 year old black lab. They are my running partners. We run about 25-28 miles a week. I am training for a half marathon and this would be not nearly as much fun without them. I run at 5 in the morning, and their presence makes me feel a lot safer, as well. Of course, they did…
  • Great job! What HRM did you buy? I am really interested in one myself and need to know more about them.
  • Absolutely eat more!!! You simply can't survive on that amount of calories, and it's definitely not good for your body. I was eating 1200 net calories after reaching my goal weight and put on five pounds. I met with a nutritionist who told me to eat a net 1600 calories and it's coming off again. Please...listen to all of…
  • Awesome! Good for you!
  • I am 5'6" and I started at 181. I have been about 155 for the last seven months or so. I think that's going to be my goal weight because I have tried and tried to go lower, but my body isn't having it. I am pretty muscular all over, especially my legs. Right now I am wearing a consistent size 10 in pants and mostly a…
  • I absolutely feel that way! Why are some people so lucky, eat whatever they want, never, ever exercise, and never seem to gain weight? I truly believe that if I didn't work out daily (500-1000 calories because I am training for a half marathon in May), and ate what I wanted, I would be 230 pounds. It is very frustrating!…
  • I totally thinks this all makes sense. I consider myself in kind of maintenance, and I was working out hard, burning about 800-1100 calories each day in exercise and eating only 1200. I actually gained weight! Once I started eating back my exercise calories, my weight went down and stabilized again. I have to talk myself…
  • You lookm great! There is definitely a huge difference in your whole body...and you look younger :)
  • I have been a runner for over three years now and finished my first half marathon in October. I love Asics Nimbus shoes. They are my absolute favorite and I have tried a few others. Just remember, whichever ones you get, you can usually take them back after a week or so of using them if you don't really like them. Good…
  • Congratulations! For my maintenance, I chose to do my basal metabolic rate of 1600. By doing this, I have pretty much stayed within a two pound range....even through the holidays!
  • The biggest thing for me in finally losing weight is that I had to be realistic in what I was eating. Not in the amount, but in the amount of calories being consumed every day. Who knew that one cup of skim milk has about 80 calories or that a slice of cheese can have 100-120 calories? Just learning the numbers and…
  • What a story!!! You should absolutely be proud of yourself and all that you have accomplished. Stay strong! You are amazing!
  • Wow! You look great!!!! It's nice to see someone similar to my own size. I am also 5'6" and I started this program at 181.2 and weighed 153.4 yesterday morning. I want to stay under 155 because that's where the BMI says that I am "normal weight." Ialso wear size 10 in most pants. Anyway, you look awesome and enjoy your new…
  • I am just like you!!! I have lost about 26 pounds, and seriously, my boobs are gone. My husband says I look like a preteen now. I would love to get a boob job, but I am 43 and don't think that would be the best use of my money. Darn!!! I also do a decent amount of weight lifting and pushups, but that just makes them a…
  • Thanks, everyone, for your great advice! It's nice to hear about your daily struggles and what you do to stay on track. And, definitely, it's the sum of the total. I know that I have changed my body, my mind, and my life, and it's all for the better!
  • Good for you for being down from yesterday! I really just ate nornal Thanksgiving foods, but the sodium could definitely have been up. Hopefully, it if I drink a lot of water today, the scale will be better tomorrow.
  • Ditto! I have lost my boobs, too :(
  • Good luck to you! It sounds like you know what you are doing!
  • Thanks, everyone, for the advice. It was great to read and very helpful. I did run a practice half marathon this morning. It took a while but I ran the whole way. I do feel better knowing that I have done it in the past, but I will also say that the miles past 10 were tough. I feel pretty confident, though! Thanks!
  • Wow! That's amazing and you look great!
  • I went from a 16 to a 10 and have lost about 24 pounds.
  • Because I like to eat, I burn about 600-800 calories a day. That way I can finish the day with an ice cream treat or have a candy bar!
  • I agree with most of the people here. I was losing fairly consistently, but now that it's summer and I am a teacher, I have more time to work out. I work off about 800-1000 extra exercise calories a day, and then I am supposed to add those back to my original 1300. Well, I do find that it's tough to eat all of those…
  • Welcome! I think you'll find this site is great. I find it extremely helpful and informative. I also have several friends that I have suggested this site to, but no one seems to take me up on it. They all think they can do it alone, and, like me, they will probably find out that they can't.
