Great job! Keep up the running!

I totally agree with your thinking. I weigh every day because I don't want my one certain day to be the day that it's the highest.
-
Most people say it's because you are dehydrated....make sure you drink before you run. Also, it does help to push in on that side. I get this issue occasionally and that's how I deal. It usually lasts for a mile or so.

You look great! What an amazing journey!!!!

Like others suggested, eat like 1240 net calories and make sure to eat all of your exercise calories back. I started out doing this, and I lost about 2-3 pounds per week at the beginning. I went from 182 to 158 in about four months, and I feel amazingly different.
-
Yours is truly an amazing story!!!! It also helps me to read how you deal with maintenance and still eat enough during training. That's my hardest part to figure out. WAY TO GO!
-
I wear running skirts or capris. Running skirts are much cuter, though!
-
That i sooooo wonderful! You should be so proud, and I think it's great that you don't wait to experience anything. You are an inspiration!!!
-
Congratulations!!! You should be so proud of yourself because that is a huge accomplishment!!!

This maintenance thing has me baffled. I kept steady for several months, then I increased my running because I was training for a half marathon. I really didn't change my eating too much, but then I gained about 5 pounds, and then six months and two half marathons later, I have still kept on those five pounds. I now try to…

I also have a Polar FT7 and I love it!

Welcome! This is the place to be. I am finally not the fat person, either, and it feels great!
-
I think some type of protein is good for you...maybe some milk, or a scoop of peanut butter, something like that.
-
Thank you so much, everyone! I am glad that others experience what I have by gaining weight the day after a long workout. I did it again yesterday....went for a three hour bike ride and gained .6 even though I was eating almost all my calories back. I really do tend ot eat all of my calories, including those I burn with…

Thanks! I really hope you are right....this was very discouraging.

I would alternate from jogging for 30 sec and walking a min and do that for a while. Try to go for 20-30 min. Slowly increase the time spent jogging and reducing the walking. I did this 4 years ago, slowly working my way up to about 5-6 miles, and I have completed 2 half marathons in the last 10 months. You'll get there if…

If you are supposed to net 1280, you absolutely need to work out and eat back exercise calories. Otherwise, you will be very, very hungry.
-
I totally agree with those that say that MFP was greatly overestimating. I got an HRM about three months ago and MFP would have my cycling at over a thousand calories while my HRM has me at 600. Everyone NEEDS to get one. I have a Polar FT7 and I use it every day. And for the person that said the rower was spot on,…

I never in my life believed that I would be a runner, but after doing it for over 4 years now, I think I am. I started by doing intervals, and then lengthening the amount of time I ran versus the walking part. Later, I was happy doing 3-4 miles every other day, and then I was running more like 4-6 each time. Miles that is.…

Get a heart rate monitor!!!!
-
Absolutely! I live in Loveland. Friend me if you like. I am running the Fire Hydrant 5 tomorrow with my husband and two dogs. Should be a blast!
-
I had to get a new battery after a few months, and I got it at Walmart. Not too expensive!
-
Your calories burned is dependant on your heart rate. You will want to keep it up during your workouts so that you are burning the most calories. It's also cool to watch how many calories your burn after your workout...the afterburn as your heart rate comes down. I truly found that my HRM is vital to my maintenance because…

Good for you! Keep it up!!!!!
-
That is wonderful! You look fabulous!
-
I think the price sounds great! I have been doing it for two weeks now, and I can definitely feel myself getting stronger. It works your tail off...literally!
-
First of all, you are not eating enough! And, I highly recommend getting a heart rate monitor. The machines at the gym and myfitnesspal really overestimate the amount of calories burned. I got one about four weeks ago, and it has made a huge difference.

I'm 5"6 and I currently weigh 158. I would like to get and stay under 155. I wear size 10 pants and most medium shirts. I have a pretty muscular build.
-
I was going through the same thing before I bought a heart rate monitor. The equipment at the gym greatly overetimates the amount of calories burned, the elliptical was off by almost a half, and MFP was also over what my HRM was saying. After adjusting the calories burned, I am starting to lose again.
-
I am a lot like you with weight and height.. I am struggling right now with how much to eat to lose about 5 pounds and still maintain enough to do my training for my half marathon next month. I went out and bought a heart rate monitor, and I am really surprised! The amount of calories with MFP and my gym's equipment is…
