  • I'm still looking for a happy medium. Once a week gives me too much wiggle room and everyday can be frustrating. I'm going to start weighing twice a week - Wednesdays and Sundays and will record my weight on Sundays.
  • I've been at this site on and off since 2010 and this is probably the most welcoming of the weight loss sites I've been on. I'm 59 years old and weigh 249; my weight's been as low as 130. My goal is to weigh 140 but no moe than 150 lbs. My weakness is committment. I start off all enthused and gradually it wanes and I go…
  • I am so afriad to get rid of any clothes and that's probably due to my many relapses or maybe it's a lame excuse for lack of committment. I try so hard not to let the head games take over. I am so ready to do this and so tired of looking and feeling old.:embarassed:
  • Good grief! I would have cried too. She is jealous and when you reach goal maybe you could invite her over for dinner and serve crow.
  • I thought that once you reach your goal, you can increase your calories to maintain your weight but you also continue to exercise for overall health.
  • Great post! Feel free to add me as a friend. We have things in common - we're both working to loose weight and I don't want to pick up chicks either; my husband says one woman is enough.
  • Seeing myself in the mirror and really taking a good look at myself - HOLY COW!
  • I get the Asian Checken Salad with black olives, green pepper, onion, lots of lettuce, cucumber and no dressing. I have low fat in the fridge at work. No croutons and just s sprinkle of cheese. It's the best.

  • I log everything. Every bite, meal, and snack. I also log any walking or any other form of movement. Take the credit - you deserve it.
  • My family used to do the same thing to me and finally I just gave up and here I am starting over. Please don't let that happen to you. In time your family will learn to adjust and who knows, even if they don't need to loose weight healthy eating is good for everyone. Good luck - my fingers are crossed.
  • I love that show! I look to the contestants for inspiration. The difference between this and other reality shows is that this really is hard work blended with self realizations and this is what makes it so good. I could never go on that show. These people are so courageous. OMG! I think it's Austin, that makes me…
  • After dinner snacking is a killer. When I do that, while I'm stuffing my face, I tell myself how wrong this is, I berate myself, and tell myself that tomorrow is a new day. I don't do this during the day because I'm busy at work and don't have time to think about snacking. I've decided to drink flavored water and see if…
  • I really admire your determination and self confidence. You are an inspriation to all. As your number gets smaller, so should your sign. Make those who may have scoffed earlier take a good look to see how far you've come. Kudos to you!
  • More than I care to admit. The cause can be anything from my husband getting on my nerves to feeling down. I try not to beat myself up over it but I'm not always successful. Being aware is half the battle.
  • Richie - I thought of you often and wondered how the scale situation turned out. I didn't send my spirit, I don't know how much it weighs. Sunsh1ne - Logging emotions is a real eye opener. For me, repetative negative emotions really make me stop and take stock of myself; well worth the time and effort. Last night as…
  • Being a food addict is the hardest thing to overcome. Food is everywhere and someone is always eating. Fighting the urge to over eat and later asking yourself why you did it is something I have yet to figure out. The potato chips free fall from the bag right into my hands. The salted nuts seem to stick to my palms and I…
  • Hi, My name is Mary and I too am a food addict. I've been relying on food for support, assurance,comfort...... I have a loving family, I retired early from my job 3 yrs ago (don't missi it at all). Things in my life are good and after alot of soul seraching, I've discovered I don't like myself very much and it's all based…
  • Maybe you could pick up some cucumber (easy to chew), grapes, bing cherries - cut and pitted, sliced apple and use those as a snack while dinner is being prepared for everyone who's hungry. If you haven't had a chance to cook in advance the crock pot idea is the best. Cheaper cuts of beef get so tender they're a soft as…
  • Hi, I'm 56 yrs. old and have been heavy all of my life. The joint and back pain are really tough for me especially in cold weather. I want to be healthy but also look good. I saw my reflection the other day and couldn't believe it was me. It is time for me to stop talking and get moving, to make a sincere effort and…
