there are too many bits of incorrect advice in this thread. ratio of this to that for weight loss is total crap. stop listening to this bs. has your doctor ordered you to adjust your macros? (for me, yes!) <<this is truly the ONLY reason to be so worried about macros. does adjusting your macros in a certain way allow you…

i eat 35% fat. i try to hit the fats goal (aim to reach) without going over the saturated fats amount (try to stay under). look at weekly averages, bc day to day is harder to reach (too ocd for most). works for me. :)

i lost my flex for an hour once. after a year of having it. immediately ordered the bitbelt and have felt much better since! i ordered 2, and they added a 3rd for free.
-
bitbelt. search for a promo code and you can get a % off too.

this question keeps on coming up for you. a lot of folks guess wrong on their activity level and exercise, so they are off by a bit. i'll give the same advice i've given in the past. get a fitbit and a hrm.... and don't return the fitbit (like you did already). the fitbit will give you your daily activity, the hrm will add…

dove chocolate. just discovered the sea salt caramel dark chocolate ones... the mint dark chocolate ones are actually my fav.
-
i average around 1800. if you want, send me a friend request and you can peek at my diary. i don't exclude anything that i actually want.
-
wear it for a week and log your exercises. don't try to adjust anything yet. <<<REALLY be sure to log in one app - either mfp or fitbit. i prefer fitbit. come back in a week with some numbers. fitbit sends you a nice weekly summary report. this will be great info to base your decisions on how to move forward!! also, so…

bump for links. thanks all. :)

always look up online before you go, esp for chains. many times onsite, they will not have a full nutrition menu. have a second choice too. for me, sometimes my first choice isn't available that day. don't be afraid to customize - more meat, veggies, etc. i just read some blog about someone who said that they eat mcds and…

if you have a lot to lose, you will likely lose at least a little from everywhere (boobs, feet, etc). how much you lose in your chest really depends on your own body. but it is worth finding a couple of bras that keep the girls in place at any weight - just be good at washing/rinsing them so they are ready for another day.
-
for me, it IS worth EVERY PENNY. if you want a full picture, you also need a hrm.
-
probiotics are great - i highly recommend them and so does my gastro dr! probiotics are better for you than a multivitamin, since most of your immune system lives in your gut. and if you don't take them regularly, you should definitely take them after taking antibiotics to replace what was just killed. personally, my gut…

eat real food. if you want something (like a burger), fit it in (by planning). stay away from anything labeled "diet" or "fat free" - low-fat is ok (keep the nutrition, skip the extra chemicals). have some things handy you can add in to hit your calories for days when you need help getting to your goal - certain snacks…

+1 for math!! it really is that easy. most folks overcomplicate things... which is close to my biggest pet peeve about weight loss - is that the weight loss industry is a multi-billion dollar industry that confuses the &%&*% out of people, and makes a super simple concept >>math<< seem so freaking hard!!
-
we are close enough to be almost the same height. please - chances are you won't last with those low calories... to lose a lot this will take a while. feel free to message me with specific questions. etc - did you read about BMR and TDEE? i know my BMR, so you are def eating below yours = not a good thing for living or…
-
if you want something that you can actually stick with long enough for it to work (and not be hangry), please please read the sexypants thread and consider eating more. learn about BMR and TDEE. i've lost a quite a bit, and i average 1800. and i'm older and likely shorter than you.

i find the active minutes to be crap - so i don't/can't use them.
-
they don't have or know good product management (which most folks don't even know what that is, but is the software world you need to to survive). they get away with it bc they are free-ish. and yes, i know wtf i'm talking about here.

so if you have a cardiologist, why isn't that the doctor doing the tests? specifically bc you said you were "doing everything right" is why the cardiologist (who has years of studying lipids) needs to be the one doing and reading your tests - not a pcp... AND the reason you need these tests themselves. the cardio tests are…
-
the problem to be faced isn't really about "high cholesterol" (which i am taking to mean high bad or total cholesterol - OP didn't specify). really of concern is the ratio of good to bad, followed by the size of both good and bad. a good cardiologist will get your ratio right and then work on size and other result stuff…
-
i think you need a new doctor. find a good cardiologist near you. have them do actual cardio specific tests/panels and not just the ones a primary care doctor will do during your physical. there are a bunch of places that do these panels (like berkely heart lab, health diagnostic lab, etc), which ever one your doctor uses…

it is my go-to yogurt. specifically the key lime flavor = yummy! (only comes in a 4-pack) BUT my .02 about yogurt is that do NOT EAT the fat free crap. when they take out the natural stuff they put in more chemicals. your body actually needs the fat! next time you are in the dairy aisle, take a look at the "kids" yogurt.…

i've been considering actual vibram five fingers... but my toes aren't exactly normal (i can thank genetics for bunions). need to find my way to a store to try them on and see. hoping the bottoms don't wear out quite as fast.
-
i'm a huge fan of the new balance minimus line. my second pair ended up being a trail version bc i wore down the bottoms of the first so fast!! can't comment on the running part - totally not me. :)
-
a fitbit is worth every freaking penny. no joke.
-
both. separately they do not give a full picture.
-
oh and i find the active minutes to be total crap. don't/can't use them bc of this.
-
fitbit is for daily movement. use a hrm to record exercise. you need both if you want a full picture. i use a bluetooth hrm that works with my phone, using an app called endomondo. (there are all kinds of choices for apps, i like this one bc of ease of use and it has lots of sport/exercise options so i can always use it…

weighing is a ton easier than measuring. and you clean less measuring things. <<i really don't know why this isn't in marketing campaigns!! i'm not sure how you can track what you eat unless you measure, and a scale is just another way of doing that. it does help in retraining your brain. i eat a lot of good fat (very…
