It's nice to hear I'm not alone and that we all have these down moments. I went to the gym yesterday and had a great workout, so I just have to keep going and use this to push me further. Thanks to all for the kind words!

Anything that involves cheese and salt. Chips and queso... crackers and cheese... I go nuts.
-
Oops.. It's not relevant, I totally quoted the wrong person. My fault. I meant to quote the poster who said she was surprised more folks didn't comment on her weight loss!!
-
Honestly, I think it's just a sensitive subject and people who aren't extremely close to you don't want to offend you by saying, "oh my gosh, you've lost so much weight and look great!", possibly implying that before you were fat/looked terrible.

My favorite is the Dunkin Donuts coffee grounds in either Blueberry Muffin or Chocolate Donut. They taste sooooooo good with a splash of milk. I find switching up the flavors keeps me "interested" as opposed to just plain black coffee all the time, although I do always keep a dark roast around as well.

My biggest surprise so far is my skin has cleared dramatically. I haven't cut anything out so I really can't figure out why, but I'll take it.
-
I lose with my calories ranging between 1500 and 1700. I work out 3-4 days a week.
-
The meal replacement shakes sold by Advocare are by far the best tasting/easiest protein powder-type product I've ever used. But they're $$$$$. I'm currently on the hunt for a more affordable alternative. Otherwise, there is nothing the 24 Day Challenge offers that you can't do on your own for free.

I meant lose more slowly for me than perhaps I have in the past - say eating only 1200 calories and seeing the scale drop but not really loving the results in the mirror. I'm assuming those times I lost a decent amount of muscle which showed up on the scale, but perhaps didn't look so good for appearance sake.
-
I guess I should clarify that I'm aware I'll lose some muscle, but I just wanted to make this post short and clear! And I used the "so you want a flat stomach" post to determine all macros - protein, fat and carbs. And I should have noted I am lifting weights throughout this - but it's not brand new or anything so I…
-
I know this wasn't the intent of the post but honestly sometimes I do wonder that with all of the medical advancements, etc. there isn't something out there that you can take to kill cravings or appetite or something - I don't even know what I'd want this magic fairy dust to do exactly, but I wonder if the knowledge truly…

I am very jealous that so many MFP members find it so "easy" to make the right choices. I understand that the right choices are not complicated, as many of you have so often pointed out - just make a small deficit, make the cookie fit your macros, eat more protein, and so on. But don't you ever just NOT WANT TO? I don't…
-
What if you DIDN'T have any of those conditions? What if the choice was simply based on what you WANTED to eat?
-
I don't - because that rarely happens. Ha!
-
I'm not really sure how I feel about this because I can obviously relate to the struggle of weight loss (I'm here, aren't I?). But maybe everyone should take a step back and realize that "appearance" is a factor in MANY jobs. For example, at my company I'm one of the few jobs that require full business attire because I see…

I had someone mimic me once. I'm sure I looked silly, I was doing Jillian Michaels Body Revolution on silent so I could listen to music on my iPod. I was "jumping rope" and a girl nearby started jumping spastically and laughing with her friends. They left immediately after that, and I haven't seen her since. I'm not a…

I guess I'm going to die then, because I'm drinking a Diet Coke and eating a 100 Calorie Pack, which I'm sure also made of the devil's tears.
-
I think this way when I am using weights in workout. I'll pick one up and think, "I used to carry this around just in fat, so I can go heavier."
-
I save the majority of my calories for dinner and afterward because that's just when I want to eat more.
-
I wish that worked for me. I was using this method and here I am 15 lbs heavier, because clothes stretch. Now I'm not saying these clothes are COMFORTABLE or even look amazing, but I kept telling myself, it's the dryer, it's this, it's that. When I had actually gained a lot of weight.
-
It took me a long time to realize I had gained weight because I'm still in all the same clothes. For me, it's a 20lb + difference that causes different sizes.
-
Before today, I was usually around 50g - so really not great. Today was my "conscious effort" to eat more protein and I really thought it would have added up to be more. This whole process is crazy eye-opening.
-
I use the TDEE method, so my TDEE - 20% is about 1700 calories. Based on macros being 40 carb/30 fat/30 protein, MFP told me 128g of protein. Or even if you use the .8 - 1lb of LBM - I weight 145, and if I had to hedge a guess, I'm about 30% BF. So 81 - 101g of protein target. Either way, I'm under.
-
So if I don't hit the recommended gram/LBM, I won't maintain muscle? I had eggs for breakfast, fish for lunch and dinner (2 different kinds - just happened that way) and almonds for a snack, and I'm at like 78 g of protein. I'm supposed to be aiming for 128g, but I only have about 283 calories left for the day. This is a…

I wouldn't pay for it myself, but I did a cycle with a friend who owned the DVDs. They are really, really hard which I actually like. It's really easy to measure improvements because you start by barely being able to survive. I also think it's a GOOD concept to have it be SO HARD, that even the people on the DVD can't get…

Girl, look at your profile pic! You've done a great job so far. Just walk away from it. Go DO something that isn't eating. And remind yourself, that this one day will not undo all your hard work. Just move on.

I've done the BodPod a couple of times, it was about $45 for each session so not too bad. It's very informative.

Like others have stated, your genetics will likely determine what your TDEE is. My husband for example, would love to gain weight. He can easily eat 4000 - 5000 calories a day, and not gain weight. His TDEE is very high, so it's difficult for him to eat above it enough to gain pounds. Now if I ate 4000 calories a day, I'd…

I have been and only gained weight. I'm at a loss. I usually use Sparkpeople to track food, which is why my diary isn't open.

Thanks for the reply, but I've done 30DS and I don't think it's challenging enough.
