Stress eating... Tips? Thoughts? Anyone relate?
I was in a very minor car accident on my way home from work last night, no one hurt, just some minor damage, but of course an unpleasant situation, especially as it was my fault. When I got home last night, all I wanted was food. I tried to take a relaxing bath, read a little to take my mind off, etc. but in the end, I sat…

Just curious - do you eat the serving size or just whatever amount you want?
I started to wonder this when I see all the critiques of folk's diaries... i.e., "it says you ate 1/4 cup of cheese, use a food scale!" Well I personally use a food scale, and know that 1/4 cup of cheese is 28g. So if I go to log it and I weighed out 28g, then I log the 1/4 cup if that's what comes up first. But then I…

Looking for nerd/science answer - losing inches but not really pounds...
I know there are a ton of threads about this, and typically the answer is "water". But this for me has been a solid 3 months of accurate weighing/logging and lifting heavy (Stronglifts). Since the beginning of March, the scale has shown at MOST a loss of 5lbs (I weighed in at this much of a loss only once about 2 weeks ago…

Lower body stronger than upper body... do I need to change anything?
I have been doing Stronglifts 5x5 and apparently have a very weak upper body because I couldn't even bench or OHP the empty bar at first, and had to work my way up to it for the first few weeks. Last week's OHP, I failed at 50lb (ugh) and have to drop back down. Bench press is now only up to 55lb. Squats are at 110lb and…

Just a vent - I've been feeling so good about progress lately but then I see pictures....
And I'm horrified. I was at an event over the weekend and I look terrible in the photos. This whole process is such a mental struggle for me and this is just a tough blow. I guess in the mirror I am smaller than I was when I started but it's just so darn frustrating on how much further I obviously need to go. /endwhinyrant

BodyPump and lifting on back to back days?
I've been doing the BodyPump classes for a few months now and I really enjoy them. However I've learned from MFP that this is more cardio than strength. So am I okay lifting the day before or after a class?

I just want to make sure I understand.... macro/weight loss/muscle etc.
I've read all the guides and sticky posts but every once in a while, a new post is published that makes me wonder if I truly "getting" all of this. So bear with me if you don't mind... I've calculated my macros and TDEE and all that, and even lost a pound this week - awesome. So onto my questions... I'm eating this protein…

Just curious if this happened to anyone else (probably women??)
My thighs have gotten smaller but my butt has gotten "bigger" (I assume from squats, etc.). It's making my pants fit weird. Work pants are alright typically but jeans are now a struggle. Did anyone else run into this situation?

So what happens if you don't get enough protein?
I apologize in advance if this is a stupid question, but I've learned a lot on these boards the past few weeks. I know it's all about calories in vs calories out. And there are a billion threads on HOW to increase your protein. But what I can't seem to find is the WHY. I've read here and there that protein is great for…

5 weeks until my wedding. What should I do?
I have very slowwwwwwwwwwly lost a few inches since January, but have really been working out hard and eating well (mostly) since August. But now we are down to 5 weeks left, and I just haven't seen the changes that I think I personally should based on how hard I've worked. So what is going to make the most difference in…

It's probably unlikely I've gained 7lbs of muscle
since January, right? I really started to crack down on exercise and nutrition at the beginning of the year. I work out 4-6 (usually 4) days a week doing different things - running, weight lifting, Insanity, etc to change it up. I track my calories and usually hit anywhere from 1400-1800 most days (maybe a little more,…
