I was (still am?) completely out of shape. Not only obese but sedentary. I only started this process 10 days ago. I began with water aerobics (water strength training too) because I just literally could not bear the stress of my weight. Every tendon/joint hurt after 2 days of working in water. I posted on MFP frustrated;…

Is the 20 minute youtube version the same as the dvd?

Agreed. Private is the default (for example the OP's diary is private). If someone asks for help you could kindly say, "hey let me take a look at your diet and we'll see what is going on. Go to settings..." Not sure everyone is hiding. On the other hand I've kept diary's for years with various "plans," and I've always…

Thanks for the replies. Helps tremendously!

I tend to agree with this post. It's quite possible that you are not intentionally feeding this issue. You believe she needs more confidence. You believe she has an insecurity problem. You believe she doesn't care about herself. You believe she needs to be "fixed." Though you may not know it, you may be sending her these…

Thanks

A true example of human nature when someone judges someone else as judgmental. Let us all just get along... The OP was hungry, he posted his thoughts, it's okay to speak your mind...

Hmmm. Not all the time. Some say they are fat in the company of fat people to make themselves feel better. They want the "oh come on you're not fat..." comment. They need that comment so they can feel good about themselves (then they think-- "I know I'm not fat I just wanted someone to say it." This is true because this…

I understand the frustration! I go on here and look at the all the 40 pound, 60 pound lost and sometimes think "why not me?" I have been a yo -yo all my life. One thing I have found eye opening recently for me though-- is how off I was on my log. I just bought a food scale and got really OCD with logging exact amounts and…
-
Would like to know that too. Don't have a monitor/tracker at home either (about to go get one). But have no idea what to log as excercise for level 1 day 1.

Just did my first one today as a trial run. I'm in.

So this is what I am thinking too. I keep seeing "1200 is too low" eat more. Or "I eat 1500 and still lose weight..." Aren't these numbers extremely dependent on your current height and weight? I would like to know less about how many calories people are eating and MORE about what percentage of deficit they have. I have…

Yes, yes. I should have said "go stick a fork in it and see if this thread is done."
-
Agreed. As I understand it -- you take 20 percent of your everyday living burn to arrive at the recommended calorie intake to achieve weight loss. But if you exercise on top and do not adjust your input then your 20 percent deficit is going to be higher. Some people would say that is okay-- you'll lose quicker. Some people…

whew... that thread was getting to be an eyesore...

Hmmm good point. I'm thinking there might be some people on MFP that will do it for free. You should ask around.
-
Do you think it might be easier to get someone else to do the stabbing for you?
-
True, except that you can't hear or smell that you are bulky and your hands will be all bound up by the straight jacket so ...
-
If you stab both eyes you won't see that your'e bulky so....

IT DOES HELP!!!!!

Good idea! I had thought that the biscuit was going to make me "less deprived" but I think it just further set me up for a bad day. So you are right. And yes I'll fill up on more fruits. I of course was grabbing straight for bananas. Better go to the store and get some lower glycemic fruits too. Ugh I LOVE/HATE sugar!
