  • I have about 6 of her videos - love them. She has beginner to the more advanced. I really like the 2 I have that are 4 and 5 mile. You can do however many miles you want. They are broken into miles. I use 2 lb hand weights. You don't have to get "insane" to get a great workout in and tone your body. Most of these videos…
  • Proud of you for choosing the "old fashioned way" to loose weight. As a medical professional, Ive seen so many people re-gain the weight because they didn't learn portion control and eating right. I'm not a fan of "dieting" , I choose to eat good healthy foods but do have occasional sweets, etc. It's all about moderation.…
  • Mine as well but I'm also on the end of Menopause - so. With that said taking the Biotin will help. Just remember hair grows s-l-o-w. Don't how long you have been taking the vitamins but give them time. Be kind to your scalp - watch blow drying and using the heated tools we gals like to use. I use the Head and Shoulders…
  • Good Morning Resolve2B The beginning of January I started both Body Revolution by Jillian Michaels and the Les Mills Pump program. Both programs start you out slow. Jillian"s BR program incorporates both cardio and weights - so good to get both things in at the same time. The Les Mills Pump is weights mostly, but they do…
  • I've noticed several magazine ads lately where Jillian has teamed up with the CURVEs centers. Guess she is trying to appeal to every demographic regarding workouts and weight loss. Thanks for the heads up Debra.
  • I know your body is thanking you - you look healthy. Congrats on your weight loss and thanks for posting, to encourage others to do same.
  • Nice information without having to weed through tons of boring medical jargon. But then, one needs to research all aspects of a healthy lifestyle choice - what they eat, etc. Knowledge is empowerment.
  • Phantom of the Opera with Gerald Butler
  • I log my just walking DVD's as walking - using the MFP database depending on the number of miles I walked. If I use the newer videos where she is using "boosted walking", I adjust accordingly. For me, overall, I just use the amount of cal's burned as something to keep me motivated. The number of cal's burned is really…
  • Hey Debra - aren't you cool. Thanks for the web site - I've now spent my morning coffee time looking at videos. ha Love it - can view the videos before purchasing. I really like one - Susan Chung's Rapid Fire 3. I've never heard of her but the clip really looked interesting. A small price to pay to keep me exercising.…
  • So that is what I can use all the zucchini my garden is mass producing right now. Awesome. Thanks!
  • For me - I like seeing the big numbers, inflated or not. It's very motivating for me. Weird - who knows. I don't eat my exercise calories back so it doesn't matter it MFP says I burned 10 or 1000 calories while walking. If you are truly interested in knowing a more exact science about calories burned during any said…
  • Someday - hopefully this fall - when I look awesome in a pair of Yoga pants, I'm going to wear them everywhere. lol:laugh:
  • @ trulara - I've been a member since March 2013 and have learned MFP has lots of great people to help you figure out the maze of eating right and exercising. It's been slow for me but then I'm on the other side of menopause along with the Night Shifts. Good luck with getting that last 30 lbs off and good for you for…

  • Your heart is a pretty smart organ - but no way does it know if you are cleaning vigorously or running on the treadmill. It's elevated - increasing your metabolism and burning calories. If you are now eating healthy - lower calories along with cleaning house - something you used to do - then count it. But then it's your…
  • As a 7p - 7a shift Hosp/ER Nurse I definitely understand the issues of trying to eat healthy while at work. I work at a small rural Hospital and cover the acute floor and the ER. I've been a member of MFP since March and have lost 21 lbs. The vending machine has never been a problem for me - ours has nothing but junk in…

  • I've spent a part of my morning reading the post's from everyone here. If there is room, I would love to joint this energetic, supportive group of ladies. I'm a 57 yo nurse from the great state of Texas. I started my weight loss journey in February of this year after visiting the Doc and saw the scales. The weight I saw…
  • As a health professional I look at this issue from two fronts: First - to my patients. Young obese people may not have health issues now but they will later. Trust me. And usually if the parents are overweight, then the kids will follow. We live in a society of " I want it and I'm going to have it because I deserve it".…
  • To me - the government has no business to decide what my child eats - EVER! Eating healthy begins at home. I've been to the schools since the White House has stuck their nose into our business. Tons of "healthy food" is being dumped in the trash cans. Kids eat junk food at home and then you think they are going to want…
  • Newbie here. Love the socialization here - reading everyone's posts, sounds like a great bunch of ladies supporting each other. If there is room for one more - I'm in. 57 yo RN - I've lost 18 lbs so far since using MFP but have about 40 more to go. I joined Feb. 2013. I try very hard to eat clean - by that I mean very…

  • L.L. Bean - Tankini. Unfortunately Victoria Secret doesn't sell granny suits. lol
  • Slowly but surely the weight is coming off - I'm getting toned in my arms and legs. Still not where I want to be but hey, Rome wasn't built in a day so need to learn to be patient. • Level 1 Day 5. It's good to read these posts. Didn't know you did 10 days per each level. We'll see.
  • Banana Pancakes with Sugar Free Syrup.
  • MFP has had the opposite effect on me. Of course I'm extremely competitive - so if I log on, saw everyone eating healthy and exercising, I feel compelled to do same. Also, the encouragement and friendship I have found on this site is priceless. I hope you find a happy medium with your weight loss and the use of MFP.
  • Hello fefafi . I'm 57 and needing to shed an additional 40 lbs. Don't despair - like others have indicated here - the weight loss at first will be slow for some. I joined in March of this year, thought I would never see my first loss. Now I have lost over 11 lbs. Just give it time, eat enough calories, exercise and enjoy…
  • For me I had to cut late night snacking out entirely. Even if I ate something healthy - it just started a chain reaction where I would just keep going back for more. I don't miss eating late now, thank goodness. A lot of good advise here - you just have to experiment until you find a solution that is right for you.
  • When I joined MFP in March 2013 I hadd already been trying to eat healthy and exercise. Weight seemed to be coming off so slow, so truly appreciate the significant weight loss this morning.
