Exactly right about the 2 approaches. I've been trying to explaining the same to many people. Great explanation there.

Google the subject and you will find info about this, including video showed in results that I searched.

Start eating most of your exercises calories back. Have a little more protein, lower fat (mainly saturated fat). You can customize your setting (goal) to have a little higher % of protein and lower the fat.

Eat most of your exercises back and you shall see changes

If you don't like to run, don't. But don't just exercises less. Pick an activity that you like other than running, and enjoy it. There are so many things you can do/pick.

There is no hard cut off time. All depends on schedule. Try to finish eating about 2-3 hr before bed. People like me, around 6pm I barely get off work.

You should be proud of yourself and ignore the jerk! Try to turn this around to motivate you instead of being frustrated. You are at the right place (MFP) with all the people support you. It's very important to be surrounded with positive and supportive group.

Here is a blog you might find helpful to understand better about protein: http://bankshealth.wordpress.com/2011/04/25/a-primer-on-protein/ Here is a partial quote from the blog: "Over the last 20 or so years, there’s been a large push to increase protein intake, especially among high intensity athletes (body building,…

Do you drink skim milk? it shouldn't have much of fat. 1 cup of skim milk has 0 fat and only 3 cholesterol, but contains 8g of protein. Soy milk is NOT good for male at all, and almond milk has no protein in it. I tried soy & almond milk and had to go back to skim milk for all the benefits.

Last time I read about the worst high calorie food article, I saw how much in that 12 wings. Not going there if I can avoid, if I have to I'll only order half (or eat half and bring home the other)

Most likely. If you are skinny and active, you want to eat more than when you are trying to lose weight in order to fuel your body properly. Especially if the skinny person want to build more muscles (lower body fat %, and keeping being skinny), he/she need to eat healthy and more.

That's absolutely why I'm here for!

Yup, that's the reason, I agree. When you workout so much, your body need more fuel. So you need not just up your goal calories, but making sure you eat your exercises calories back. All depends on your schedule to see how much time you can get for working out. Start with a walk after meal usually very pleasant and easy. May be try a 3-day 30 min workout, or whatever you can do. Try to figure out what you like to do for cardio exercises, like walking, running, biking, swimming, play tennis, basketball,…

Ladies, just want to remind all you fabulous ladies who are on this thread: make sure you have enough fiber. Female need at least 25gram fiber a day. Being pregnant it's probably more important to have enough fiber. I've learned my lessons from my first pregnancy.

You are on the right track! I've had high cholesterol for a few years, and last year I managed to lower it to the borderline (201) by just watching my diet, but it's not enough because it's still high and HDL is low, LDL is very high. So I started actively exercise this year and eating more healthier. Guess what, my check…
