I second the suggestion that you check out the Keto way of eating. Pepole have massive success on it. For me, it killed my cravings so it was easy to stick to. And there are ao many benefits in addition to losing weight. Do a little googling for the basics and then check on Facebook for a group to ask questions.

TravisGM, I'm with you. I think all the sugar in their diets, correlated with their inability to understand your point, is clear anecdotal evidence that sugar is the devil.

I stopped eating them when it was revealed that the nutrition info is not what they claim. The issue was with carb and fiber count and apparently was found to be more carby and have less fiber than stated on the packaging. That's a deal breaker for me since I do keto and have to 'spend' my carbs sparingly.

When I dieted in the past and ate 1200 calories per day I was starving! I was eating things like small portions of fruit, rice cakes, low-fat yogurt, whole wheat bread, raw veggies, broiled skinless chicken breast, etc. as part of a low fat diet. I found it impossible to maintain because I was so miserable and hungry all…

"I don't like it when people don't eat the same things I do. I enjoy belittling them because it makes me feel better about myself. You're wrong to call little pieces of rice-sized and rice-shaped cauliflower 'cauliflower rice' and I'm going to make sure you know it! IT IS NOT RICE! IT IS NOT POTATO! You're not…

I'm making sushi with cauliflower rice this week! I sub cauliflower for all rice and potato dishes.

The obvious thing to do is to stop having a cheat day.

I eat some kind of nut every single day. Eating fat does not make you fat. Eat them.

Also, I do know some people who can go as high as 50 or 60gs of carbs once they've done a few weeks at under 20. People's bodies react differently though, so YMMV.

You can get ketostix online or in most drug stores. To get into ketosis, it is recommended that you eat only 5% of your calories from carbs. Most begin induction by eating 20g or less per day. I eat 1300 calories per day and keep my carbs under 16g, although I have had a day here and there where I've eaten 30 or so and…

If you're missing the flavor, then I would just have one glass maybe once a week. But, if you are missing the feeling, you can switch to hard liquor - whiskey, gin, vodka, rum, scotch, etc. - which only has 64 calories per ounce, as opposed to the wine, beer or cider, which had tons more. I personally like gin and seltzer,…

What a bunch of babies. Someone shares her success story, but it's not how YOU choose to lose weight so you attack her and her methods? Such nasty, childish people here. Good for you OP! It's awesome to find a plan that works for you!

Keep shouting "No!" at it if you want it to continue to have issues with using the litter box. Cats prefer to have a clean, designated space to do their business, such as a litter box you've provided. If your kitten is not using it, there is a reason. It is not defiance or misbehavior on the part of the kitten. I do NOT…

Yes, a deficit counts on any diet, even keto. There are other things that come into play that may make you need more or less to achieve that deficit, but without a deficit, you will not lose weight. Many people do keto without tracking their food because eating high fat, moderate protein and low carb just keeps them from…

Everyone, repeat after me: "Atkins and high protein diets are NOT the same thing as Keto or high fat diets." A ketogenic diet calls for high fat, moderate protein and very low carb consumption.

Yet another medical professional who doesn't know the difference between ketoacidosis and ketosis. Wonderful. I feel so safe.

I think the book sounds like something from the early 1900's. But, I really came here to say that you speak (write) English better than many who use it for their first language!

Oh yay! We have another scientist!

I lied. I'm back in. Hair loss and significant weight loss is correlated no matter how the individual is losing the weight. Seriously dude, google is just a tab away.
-
But he said "bad breath"! Isn't that data enough!? /s I'm out too.
-
You will find plenty of distinguished and well respected scientists refuting what you are stating here. Citing someone's credentials does not make what they say true. Nor does capitalizing the word SCIENTIST!1!! Also, just because Atkins is low carb, does not mean that all low carb is Atkins. You need to do more reading.

Sorry! :) Just a guess!

When I started losing weight and people told me that I wasn't going to be able to maintain it or stick to a diet, tried to tempt me with food that I didn't want, or made fun of my food choices, it just made me more determined to follow my own path and stick to it. I can't do it? Well, f**k you, just watch me! Yes, there…

Oh, I wasn't trying to say that you should eliminate all sugars. Finding out what works for us as individuals is the key and it wont be the same thing for everyone. I just meant that I've experienced that brain fog also and went away fairly quickly! Good luck with this!
-
Oh, and all this about how your body NEEDS sugar is bull.
-
I completely eliminated sugar 7 months ago and I was a bit foggy for the first two weeks or so. It cleared up on its own though, and now I'm sharper than I've ever been. Hang in there.

If you're doing low-carb, the egg sandwiches are pretty good. I just order it without any bread and use the egg as a way to contain the fillings. I get cheese and tons of spinach, some olives, a little bit of green pepper. Also, I get tuna fish on top of a salad sometimes. Not bad and it's pretty cheap.

This. I was a HUGE carb lover when I started. My two favorite foods in the whole world were pasta and popcorn. I could eat a TON of both. When I started keto, there was no way in hell I was going to give them up for one second longer than it took me to lose the weight. Fast forward 7 months, and I can't even imagine eating…
