Something that you want if you are working out. Otherwise you crash. Carbs are an intense exerciser's best friend!

Oh and the simplest and easiest calculator I have found online is at scoobys. Punch your numbers in and see what it tells you. http://scoobysworkshop.com/calorie-calculator/ If you know more about yourself and how it all works you might want to use a more accurate calculator - again at scoobys.…

There are many different ways to lose weight and to determine how much food you should eat to do so. What they are doing Stef is fine although technically a little bit around the wrong way. In some respects they are doing it more precisely because they are better determining their activity level rather than guesstimating…

^ This - you want to maximise fat loss and avoid lean muscle loss during dieting. Doesn't matter where you get your protein from but too much meat is meant to be bad for you (Well too much of anything is) and I struggle to get my daily protein requirements without a protein shake or a protein bar/cookie most days.

I want to say something that makes me appear less of a sleezeball man like Heston Blumenthal (He could cook the dinner too!) Jesus (The man - not the myth) and maybe Hitler but I would probably just have Summer Glau, Jessica Alba and Mila Kunis over for dinner, and hopefully some after dinner drinks and entertainment too...

Are you Jamaican? Because your Jamaican me excited.... Is that a keg in your back pocket, can I tap it? Why don't you come over here and sit on my lap. We can talk about the first thing that comes up... Btw I have never actually used one of these lines with a woman I have been trying to pick up, only female friends when…

I don't know when they will invent a sarcastic font but it would save me having to write these sorts of replies. Which I am not really going to write... No point. No point in this response either really - link your gif again...

We all have different ideas on what is healthy and we all have different baselines set up by our parents, friends etc. that we are trying to deviate from to become healthier - I say deviate from, because most of us have signed up here with the aim of losing weight and/or eating healthier and obviously the majority of us…

I forget that most people here are Americans and some have probably never heard the term capsicum. I am Australian and here we call them capsicums if they have no heat or chillies if they do, not bell peppers or hot peppers. The term capsicum doesn't sound strange to me until I have to tell other people that we call…

Tonight the missus is making up a ham and egg carbonara with all that left over ham we have from Christmas. She is also making fresh pasta which will be super delicious I am sure! I am drooling already...

black beans in a brownie? Interesting. I might have to try this just out of curiosity...

I sometimes make an omelette like my mum used to. Fry off some potato, bacon/ham and onion are optional but I love them, then when the potato is looking a little crispy add some vegetables, anything really, broccoli, celery, capsicum, beans, whatever you have that you need to eat and then when they are about cooked add an…

I have a million of these. My favourite though involves a little eye contact and some playful motion too. Firstly you have to spot the girl you want to talk to and then motion your pen finger to her in a wave type motion implying that she come over to you. When she does come over you say to her 'I just made you come with…

I was always lead to believe it isn't so much the alcohol but all the crap you mix with it and the crap it makes you eat afte drinking it that are the real problems. Spirits have the most bang for buck but wine has very little residual sugar and beer not a lot of hidden carbs either, these low carb beers might be low carb…

Punching those numbers into the calculator you are pretty much on the right track. Your BMR is estimated to be just below 1200 and your maintenance caloric intake is estimated at a little under 1400. If you continue to eat roughly 1200 calories a day and eat back your exercise calories (as Leonardo said earlier, not just…

Your body requires a certain amount of everything to be at its best, some people will argue that you should be keeping an eye on many of your macronutrients too like your calcium, magnesium, iron intake, etc. etc. At the end of the day though I would argue does your body need to be at its absolute best, are you an elite…

You will inevitably lose less weight than you were previously, you are now eating more calories. That isn't a bad thing though, especially if you are close to your goal. 1200 calories a day is very low, I don't know what your weight, height etc are but I would recommend you put your numbers into a calorie calculator (one…

I couldn't help but laugh when I read this. It just sounds so funny.

I too wish I could join in but my work schedule would make it very difficult for me to achieve this. You have made me another person complaining about work stopping me from achieving my goals...

I can't even edit the ingredients already in a recipe! If I make something again but add 50g more of something I have to add ingredients and remove the old entry. I too would be interested if anyone else knows how to better utilise the recipes function in MFP or if there is some other better way of editing recipes…

Some of these recipes sound great! I am always eating rice (I mix it up though depending on what I am having it with) and have been wanting to cook with more quinoa, lentils and other things like this and there are a few good recipes on those sites that people have suggested which I will check out. I also love the recipe…

I did this year, first time in a while. My missus is nearly always asleep by about 9pm but I took her to the tennis for New Years and we didn't get back home til about 11:30. By the time we settled in and had our showers and what not it was 12 and we watched the fireworks on TV and had a sweet kiss...

I am looking for similarly small amounts of weight loss, with no definitive deadline on when I achieve it and am looking to increase muscle mass along the way. The only way to do that is to increase your protein intake while eating a near maintenance diet - don't aim to lose weight too quickly or you will inevitably loose…

I attempt to do 3-4 days a week, upper body on Monday with 20-30 minutes of cardio at the end, lower body on Tuesday and either an all round body on Thursday or Friday or another upper/lower on the Thursday/Friday. It all comes down to what you are trying to achieve and aiming for 3-4lbs a week is pretty astronomical…

Everything is bad, everything will kill you. It just depends on who you listen to. Eat whatever you want but the less processed a food is the better. It is hard to put on weight if you eat lots of vegetables, easy to put on weight if you eat lots of take away...

Great post Wolfman. Very simply put but it is one of those things people seem to have so many problems figuring out. I have always found the easiest thing is to set your own custom goals in MFP and use a better calculator elsewhere that includes your exercise (B) component rather than walking the dog as someone said and…

I personally never worried about eating back my exercise calories. At the moment I am eating at maintenance and trying to build muscle but when I was cutting I figured out roughly what my TDEE is based on my general exercise routine and then I set myself a goal to lose a certain amount of weight. My daily calorie allowance…

People don't get fat overnight and they don't get thin overnight either...

No, I don't log weekends or public holidays. I will probably have the next week or two off from logging my food. Once you have figured out roughly how many calories and how much fat, carbs and protein are in foods you can guesstimate how naughty you have been without logging anyway...
