  • bump for the zig zag fat loss advice. Love it!
  • HRM is an abbreviation for a heart rate monitor. Love mine! Would totally recommend one if you are active and work out, strength train, etc.
  • Mine has been over a few years. And I am totally okay with that although I wish it would pickup now. :) What I keep telling myself is that I've made this a lifestyle and prove that I can keep it off for a few years instead of losing it quickly and gaining it back quickly. Although sometimes I really wish that I could have…
  • [/quote] Looks good to me. I go with lifting 4days /wk & cardio 1day/wk + 2 rest days. Are you focusing on your macros? You specified you are loosing weight - but your working out too, so i imagine your aim is to loose fat & keep muscle - which means a) you 'll want enough carbs to give you the energy for 6 days/ wk…
  • I just call it cardio because I have an HRM and enter my calorie burn from that. Just to let you know, my HRM is much lower than what MFP would calculate, in case you eat 100% of your exercise calories. I just did workout 6 and burned 222 calories, for comparison's sake. I know some other people get much higher burns than…
  • bump. This sounds awesome! Guess what is going in the blender tomorrow morning! :)
  • This has actually been something holding me back from trying it more seriously - wondering if I could do it and still lose fat? My daughter tried it one summer and instantly gained weight... but she replaced all her meats with bread carbs. I'm an animal lover and it's bothering me more and more that I eat meat. I changed…
  • This is great advice. I'm in the process of making #3 a habit. Removing processed foods was easier than I thought it would be because I concentrated on what I COULD eat that I loved! I keep contemplating going vegan/vegetarian/pescatarian but haven't decided yet, as I eat meat for the protein source, as well as I hate…
  • This was exactly how I wanted to use it. I have a spreadsheet that has daily stats of weight, calories eaten, calories burned thru workouts, macronutrients, fiber, sodium, temp, how I feel, etc. Bit of a spreadsheet nut. I wanted to track the downward trend over time and slowly see it dropping. :)
  • I don't need to sub the cardio, but I choose to sub it fairly frequently to do some things that I like to do that give me just as good of a burn or more, just to keep it interesting.
  • I currently belong to a PF and it works for me at this time in my life. I quit a more expensive gym with all the frills and classes I never got around to taking because the personal trainers were always bugging me, trying to get my $$. I did not want to work with a personal trainer because I had worked with one from that…
  • I'm starting Phase 2 tomorrow as well, and getting more terrified by the minute. Lol. I figure I will do what I can and if I need to stay on this set longer, I will do that until I can do it. It's better than not trying at all. :-p
  • Thank you! It's been a huge accomplishment for me, as it wasn't just physical but a lot of mental crap to go through to and has only made me a much stronger person. I'm an all or nothing girl. At least I tend to be without focusing on it. One year I found myself not giving in to ANY treats until a week before Christmas and…
  • I do about every five pounds as well, unless I'm on it messing with the settings anyway. :)
  • I would love to have another 40 and fabulous friend. :) I totally agree with the drama. I have been trying to cut it out of my life, but I can't lose my kids and they supply me with PLENTY of it. Haha. In 2008, I was very unhealthy, partly due to never having been taught good nutrition and fitness, partly due to emotional…
  • I'm with you. I reall, really miss my oatmeal and get tired of eggs every morning. I can only eat bacon so often and the high fat meats are bothering my IBS. This morning it was scrambled eggs with smoked salmon, spinach, cherry tomatoes and cream cheese. My go-to am-in-a-hurry-and-sick-of-eggs breakfast is a smoothie of…
  • Feel free to add me. I also struggle with snacking. Trying to lower my carbs to lower my cravings - hopefully that works! :)
  • I was coming on here, disgruntled that the scales isn't moving more, so it validating to hear that it's not necessarily moving for some other people as well. :) I wanted to tell you that I could tell the difference without checking your notes to see which one was the before and after pic. Good job and great results. I am…
  • I am also trying to raise my fiber. I was trying to extremely low carb, and I got my IBS-constipation out of control. I realized that on my lowest carb days, my fiber was really low. I am going to try to eat more avocados (probably off the list for you). Nuts and seeds, chia, flax, hemp, etc help, but are pretty nutrient…
  • I was given fat clothes and gave fat clothes... and it worked well both times but it was from one good friend to another, and they were super nice clothes and we liked the same colors and style. Feel her out in a general sort of way. I broached the subject gently instead of just handing over bags of clothes. :)
  • I am very new to this, but in my experience it delayed it by ten days or so and then made it stick around for 10 days!!! Yeah, not all positive. Lol. I was just starting bodybuilding at the same time as cutting carbs, so I think my body just went WTH. :)
  • I was actually coming online to look for a homemade protein/granola bar recipe that I could make to put in my kid's lunches (and perhaps sample myself!). Thanks!
  • I am from Gloucester County.
  • I'm only on week 2 but I was thinking of this, too. Any recommendations? I thought of Insanity, because I have a friend doing it. Not sure what is next after this, although I don't need to decide until July. :)
  • I use an HRM. I don't know if it reports low or not. I did both the Cardio 1 and Workout 2 of Phase 1 yesterday and burned 198 cals in each. I'm still trying to get fit, 214 lbs, 42 yrs old, so with each workout, I keep burning a few more calories as I increase my stamina. If it does report low, at least I am not as…
  • Just finished week 1 and starting week 2. I lost 8 lbs, and 1 1/2" in my waist. I feel stronger and more energetic. I am stoked and ready to get on with week 2. That of course doesn't explain why I turned the alarm off at 5:15AM this morning and decided to push my workout off until tonight. Lol.
  • I started April 8 as well. I tried doing the kickstart week, including the diet plan but I had to up my calories/healthy fat intake. I did some cardio at the gym instead of the cardio dvd and I couldn't do my normal workouts. So I continued the week eating my diet but doing her workouts. I lost 8 lbs since April 8. I am so…
  • I would love an invite. I have raised my daily calories after reading about this, but not to the level recommended yet. I have a lot to learn and would love to learn from everyone else...
  • End of week one and for the first time this morning I managed to stay moving the WHOLE time through a running man. I would have clapped if I had the energy. LOL. I was very excited. Hate 'em.
