  • Talk to the hospital staff. I work for a healthcare company and may of our hospitals have fitness classes for employees, while you may not be able to attend the classes if they are offered for employees only they may have a place that you can go on your own in the hospital to do jumping jacks etc without disturbing others.
  • Humans are the only mammals who consume lactose after puberty on a regular basis which is why so many adults become lactose intolerant to some extent or the other we just aren't meant to process the stuff. I have found that I can eat cheese with very little problem but more than about 1/4 a cup of ice cream will make me…
  • Yes!!! Today is a LUCKY day!!!! :)
  • If you have normal periods while on birth control you don't really know if you have normal periods. If you have normal periods not on birth control you are probably fine and don't have anything to worry about. That being said, I am just barely in the "overweight" category but my husband and I want to start TTC soon and…
  • This deserves a bump.
  • I"m 5'5 and when I am actually tracking my food and eating like I should I am between 1300 and 1500 most days. I don't get hungry when I do it right but I do tend to get really cranky/hungry around 5:30-6 if my dinner is delayed for whatever reason. I eat a lot of vegetables and fruit and make sure to have things like baby…
  • Us too!!! Well, we are on the 7 year plan, I want all student loans, cars and credit cards paid off by 1/1/2013. Our allowance is $200 each though, if I cut it to $150 that would probably put us ahead of schedule. I don't know if we will still have a mortgage at that point or not, my husband is military so depends on where…
  • Christmas party = semi-formal for most commands. A cocktail dress, or dress pants and a nice top would be perfect. If you work in a business-casual environment chances are you can even wear clothes you would normally wear to work (on a dressier day) and be fine. I usually wear one of my 800 LBD's. Navy Ball=Formal,…
  • Our base gym has tae-bo and just added belly dancing after work hours but all of the others are during the day. When I first saw the schedule I told my husband I forgot this was the 1940's and I was supposed to stay at home and somehow pay off my student loans and live on just his paycheck. I just don't do the classes.…
  • I don't know a lot about clean eating but wouldn't granola be considered clean? Or Muesli?
  • Nope, I do this too, so does my mom :)
  • For soup I usually throw whatever frozen veggies I have, a can of tomatoes, maybe mushrooms and beans if I have them in with a box of low-sodium broth then add whatever seasoning I'm in the mood for then let it cook all day on low :) I'm not big on recipes. Usually ends up around 50-75 calories/cup and very low on fat.
  • I always would run around with my dogs under the pretense of wearing them out...
  • My favorite sweet/crunchy fix is either coco or cinnamon roasted almonds. I usually only need 1/2 a serving to do the trick.
  • This, completely If I must count calories I stick with sashimi and may get 1 roll that isn't deep fried or loaded with cream cheese with brown rice instead of white.
  • Keep in mind your natural cycle changes with age and BC usage. Some women have a normal 28 day cycle with or without BC their entire lives, others may have completely irregular cycles. Some get more regular with time, some get longer with time. I have a friend who's body operated on a roughly 40 day cycle when she went off…
  • Go Cards!!! .... n eagles!! [/quote] My college pick is the cardinals...but my bird has teeth :)
  • WE'VE GOT LUCK!!!!!!!!!
  • I am cracking up! I am also sensing a theme. My husband emailed me a copy of an article from a 1955 issue of good housekeeping yesterday on how to be a good wife...The tips included: -Have dinner ready. Plan ahead, even the night before, to have a delicious meal ready, on time for his return. This is a way of letting him…
  • I just found one that works with your iPhone. Look up Digifit I haven't looked at reviews yet but when I saw there is one that works with Andriod I started poking around the ap store.
  • My husband made me a mocha the other morning, they aren't normally my thing because of the calories but it was delicious. He used brewed coffee, 1TBSP of flavored creamer (no clue what kind we have vanilla & caramel in the fridge) and 1 TBSP of hershey's chocolate syrup. There may have been a packed of splenda in there…
  • I've been wondering the same thing. I like the concept of things like the fitbit or the bodymidia things that give you your daily calories but I don't like the idea of having to pay for a monthly subscription for the bodymedia stuff and question how accurate the fitbit is since it doesn't track anything except your…
  • baby carrots nuts pretzels popcorn Are all my go-to's when I need a crunch snack.
  • My household food budget (my husband and me) went down $30-40/month when I started eating healthier. I eat less and still get full so I am pretty sure that is the main reason why. On the weeks/months when he joins in it goes down another $60-$70 depending on how with it he really is. That's $100/month we save when we both…
  • Congratulations and welcome to the military! My husband had to do the same thing (60lbs) before he joined the Navy and we are loving it!
  • Mee too!!! :( Well, I went to college there then stayed and still own a house there...Would love it if the Navy would decide to send me and my hubby back :)
  • My go-to response when people tell me I don't need to lose weight is that I'm not trying to lose weight, I'm trying to get back the energy I had before I gained the weight and eating healthy/working out etc is way better than ten cups of coffee in the morning.
  • I don't know a lot about yoga but I do enjoy it. I have seen classes before the ones I go to that would probably help a lot they are more high intensity and geared towards weight loss usually in the hot yoga studios for more advanced people.
