I'm such a weirdo American but I DON'T like coffee or anything flavored with it... at all. Never have, never will. Why would anyone want to drink burnt beans? :noway: I'm even more weird because I don't like tea. Drink dried leaves? What???? I have to say I pop out of bed every morning without any caffeine. I have a…

I highly, HIGHLY, HIGHLY recommend a book called "The New Rules of Weight Lifting for Women" by Lou Schuler. Here's what people are saying about the book: http://www.amazon.com/New-Rules-Lifting-Women-Goddess/product-reviews/1583333398/ref=sr_1_1_cm_cr_acr_txt?ie=UTF8&showViewpoints=1 I doubt you are getting too much…

Whole wheat bread? It's got carbs, very little fat, and little or no protein. A piece of fruit? A banana? A glass of milk?

The short answer is - you will lose faster at first, but then you may just be setting yourself up for un-fun starvation mode. Do things the healthy way - eat back your exercise calories. MFP already created a deficit for you. Aim to make your diary calories zero every day or between 100 under or over. Eat clean, quality…

I bruise easily also and it takes a looooong time for them to go away. I think it is also genetics. I had to have major blood work/doctor check up for life insurance not long ago and I don't have diabetes, iron deficiencies or any other guesses people have had. But it still doesn't hurt to ask your doctor. Mine told me I'm…

I have to disagree. No rules, just logic. Mainly for people who have their daily caloric intake set at 1200, obviously if you eat 2000 calories a day and burn 500 and only eat 100 back ( a net of 1600) - you will likely not go into starvation mode). But I digress... Anyway, to answer the original question. I think you are…

I LOVE THIS!!! I've played it at work and my co-workers think I'm nuts!

I'm a vet - I get to look at poo at all the time and get questions about it all the time! I love what your poo can tell you! Anyway - in addition to all the great suggestions you've gotten - try eating some yogurt with live cultures (I like greek yogurt) - avoid yogurts sweetened with aspartame, like Yoplait. Yogurt is…

I'm concerned that this article is from 2002, when the book I read, "The New Rules of Weight Lifting for Women" sights many other research articles from 2008 and forward that contradict much of what this article states. While I appreciate you sharing this - I have to say I'm skeptical at best. I'm still gonna stick with my…

I can't see your diary, so I'm not sure what your macros are set as. However, many nutritionists recommend about 1 gm protein per lb of body weight. If you go over some, and your kidneys are healthy, your body will probably handle it fine. But for the most part I'd try to stick with the mg/lb rule. And yes - you def. need…

Every day is a brand new shiny day. And if you mess that one up, another brand new day will come along tomorrow. Admitting an "oops" is the first step. Way to keep yourself accountable! I know I've had days where my food diary has been in the red by FOUR digits - sad to say several times. But I keep trying. You've got the…

For those of you who think you will "lose faster" by not eating back all of your exercise calories, please read this. http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/3047-700-calories-a-day-and-not-losing?hl=700+calories+and+not+losing It's not about how fast you should lose weight or I want to be a certain number on the scale by…

Why not take a vitamin C supplement instead? Or those cold-eeze lozenges are tasty - they have vitamin C AND zinc in them. I think they shorten my colds. Rest, rest, rest, and drink lots and lots of water. You won't be sick forever so if you're over calorie and sugar wise a few days it won't kill you... just get back on…

Ibuprofen really helps me with cramps. Alot of water to help flush out the unfun bloating. Sometimes a hot washcloth on my abdomen or a warm bath helps my tummy relax. Once I'm not cramping - I work out!!!

That picture looks amazing!!!!! Thanks for the great idea!

LOL - sounds good to me... if the sodium isn't too high?
-
Yup - eating CLEAN. Stay away from processed. Keep your sugar low, your protein and fiber high! Drink lots of water. NEVER drink soda. Lift HEAVY weights (yup, ladies too). High Intensity Interval Training. Just say no to steady-state cardio. :noway: We all have parties and special occasions and "oopsies" moments. Junk…

So many choices - so many reviews on Amazon! Depends on what you're looking for and what you want to mix it with. I have an unflavored powder (BioPlex Natural Pure WPI) WPI= whey protein isolate - it has NO additives and NO sweetners. It only tastes good mixed with something sweet like homemade carrot/apple juice or…

Kudos to you for all these big changes at once! I've never been a smoker but 2 ladies at my work place are using the patch and trying to quit for their health. One of their doctors told one of the ladies that lung cancer is even more prevalent than breast cancer! I'm sure the headaches are from cutting down on the…

It was $60 on Amazon! :)

Check out reviews on Amazon.com. I wanted one where I could change my own battery. I love, love, love my Timex Zone Trainer.

Well, salads with grilled chicken are usually a healthy choice - but watch the dressing that comes with it! I like Wendy's chicken and apple salad. Subway can have some healthy choices (avoid cheese and sauces) - but - WATCH THE SODIUM. Also, with the grilled fast food chicken - careful - usually it is high in sodium also.…

I try to avoid as much refined sugars as possible. What about switching over to unsweetened almond milk? It's not too bad. Or have one or the other. I'm sure the apple cinnamon bars had quite a bit of sugar - and I'm betting the "sweet" wasn't all from the "apple" part of the bar, if you know what I mean.

I read that too much flax seed can mess with your estrogen. Probably isn't your problem, but thought I'd mention it - just in case.

I too like Chobani. It has fruit on the bottom but if you stir stir stir, it gets all mixed up and kinda disappears. It's delicious. I stay away from Yoplait - it uses Aspartame as a sweetner. I've read too many VERY BAD things about what aspartame can do to a body. I avoid it like the plague!

I buy it completely. Her husband has some input in my favorite book "The New Rules of Weight Lifting for Women" by Lou Schuler. Women if you want to get sexy - lift heavy weights! Get going!

I also try to keep my sodium under 1500 mg a day. Someone pointed out to me that "Friendship" cottage cheese brand is low sodium - like all other new low sodium things - you do get used to the taste. I use mine in omelettes!
