  • Especially INTACT MALE cat pee! That's the worst!
  • I know this is dorky, but I really want the new Zelda game for Wii. I  Zelda and have for about 18 years! Dork, I know!
  • My favorite part! Congrats on your NSV! :) One day you'll have to kiss that belt good-bye again for being too big!
  • I've never had issues, but I take a kiwifruit supplement that is supposed to regulate your bowels (mine were already regular), help with constipation, diarrhea, IBS, etc.... I take it because it provides prebioitics (not to be confused with probiotics). Am I being sold a gimmick? I dunno, seems to work great for me, but…
  • Sent a friend request and if anyone else is looking for a pal - I'm happy to oblige - but please read my profile and make sure I am the friend for you before sending a request. :)
  • If you want to get lean - you've already stated the answers. Lifting heavy and a clean diet. Yes, 1 gm protein per lb body weight. Now you need to eat lots of lean proteins, healthy fats, veggies, fruits and a few unrefined carbs. Try to get rid of ALL refined carbs and processed foods. Clean eating will get you to your…
  • I like to record mine. Mine are 52 calories a day, so I definitely count them. In fact, I have a whole section of my diary devoted to vitamins and supplements :)
  • Eat it. I've eaten yogurt a couple of MONTHS past the expiration date. Yes, MONTHS. I know everyone thinks I'm gross now. Maybe the bacterial cultures were dead or something, but it smelled/tasted fine and I had no ill effects. As others said - don't worry about dates - trust your nose!
  • I would pass. Too processed for me. And as you mentioned, high in sugar (which is why they taste great). Don't be fooled that just because something is advertised on BL that it's healthy. Those companies pay big bucks to advertise on that show for the very reason we are having this discussion - it convinces people that it…
  • Make friends here on MFP for support, then you won't feel so alone. What about a work from home job? Sell something on e-bay? At least you have lots of time to exercise, right? Or if mom buys groceries, offer to cook them! Maybe cook a delicious healthy meal to get your family on board?
  • log every bite of everyday... sometimes it's tough... but oh so worth it!
  • Write him a letter expressing how much he has come to mean to you in the last five years. You could even buy an inexpensive frame or put it in one of those multi-frames with a collage of you guys from the past five years. Gifts from the heart are always better than "things" (IMHO)
  • Ahhhhh.... and this is why I love having you as my friend! Such an inspiration. You motivate me to eat clean almost daily. I think "If she could do it, why can't I???" Has to be only a matter of time before I get there myself. Though it is taking me a bit longer.... :)
  • I can relate to the sabotage part. I struggle with, "ah, this is good enough... you can slack off a little..." and then BLAM! I'm either off track or not making the progress I desire and then I get tough on myself again. I guess it's human nature???
  • This is why I always prescribe an antacid with an NSAID. :)
  • Do a google search for high intensity interval training, or HIIT Also, you can't spot reduce, but in addition to performing HIIT, a clean diet is a must. Abs are made in the kitchen. 80% diet,10% strength training, 10% cardio (of the HIIT variety) Best of luck to you!
  • Can't wait to try - bookmarked! thanks for sharing!
  • You look very toned! Congrats!!!!
  • Welcome! My diary is always open if you want to peek at it - I TRY to eat clean most of the time. However, let me forewarn you that I'm not the best "supportive friend" at commenting on my friend's accomplishments. Sorry - but I'm terrible at keeping tabs on everyone - I'm easily overwhelmed. But as long as you're ok with…
  • When people ask, "will you keep it off this time?" Try, "If I do, will you keep your snide remarks to yourself in the future?" Or play with them a bit... smile and say "What's in it for me?" Or Answer a question with a question - "Does a one legged duck swim in a circle?" Make them think a minute and they might laugh and…
  • Woo hoo! Great job!!! You totally have to check out Lou Schuler's book, "The New Rules of Lifting for Women" - he will make you not afraid of those free weights and get you off the machines! I LOVE my muscles!!!! Congrats to you! You look GREAT!!!!

  • Exercise while you watch TV - do jumping jacks, push-ups, etc.. whatever during commercial breaks. Or Buy an elliptical and put it where your couch is! I HAVE to watch TV while I exercise, otherwise exercise is just pure torture!
  • For me, I was completely undeducated about proper nutrition and exercise. Sure I knew I needed to eat healthy, but it didn't taste good, and I was young, so who cared? Well, one day I cared and I started educating myself.... haven't looked back ever since!
  • I'm probably hotter than I give myself credit...
  • With chicken fried steak - steamed baby carrots with just a touch of butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon - just a touch. With spaghetti - steamed broccoli Tuna Helper - side salad (green) and some fresh cut up fruit Lasagna - add side of green beans Hamburger helper - add green sweet peas Feta pesto chicken - rosemary olive…
  • MMMMM!!! I LOVE the vita tops Deep Chocolate nuked for 30 seconds with just 1/8 cup vanilla frozen yogurt and a drizzle of chocolate syrup! Yummmy! My other new favorite is a blueberry chocolate shake: 1 cup vanilla unsweetened almond milk 1 cup frozen blueberries 1 scoop vanilla whey protein powder 1 TB cocoa powder SO…
  • Wow! What a difference 35 lbs makes! Of course, muscle is more dense and takes up less volume than fat! Hope he did this for himself and doesn't give miss ex another chance!
  • I've played with both settings. For me, I found that setting a goal loss of 1 lb/week, actually ends up with me losing about 0.5 lbs a week. Just play with it some and see what works for you. Keep in mind, the closer you get to your ideal weight, the slower the pounds come off... but you can still make progress, so don't…
