It sounds a bit like they're challenged by your efforts to improve yourself and can't help but try and bring you down. It's a natural reaction. All you can do is grow past it. (And you will!) Keep it up.

For me, it's a friend being harsh and laying it on the line with me. "If you're fine with being a loser...." and the such. It's part joking, part serious and enough to get me going. My personality might be different than yours, though.

I'm at 2.93 hours. Dec. 1: 53 minutes. Dec. 2: 44 minutes. Dec. 3: 37 minutes. Dec. 4: 42 minutes. Not sure I'll hit 24 hours in the month--I plan in rest days because I'm primarily weight training at the moment--but it's a hell of a fun challenge!

Big two things: 1) Plenty of rest. 2) Staying hydrated. I typically feel good after about 10 minutes.
