Thank you for reading my very long winded post - I think, what started out as a question quickly became a rant. Sorry about that! I appreciate both of your replies, Romyhorse & Rduhlir. I followed my doctor's advice and stayed out of the gym and off the trails for the full 5 days after I saw him. I did the RICE method as…

Congratulations on your graduation! If you don't mind me asking, where are you doing your color run? I'm signed up to do one on the 28th =)

Congratulations! Don't be embarrassed about not getting the full 5k in 30 minutes. I hear most people have to keep working on distance after graduation. How great is it that you started c25k, learned how to run and can now do 2.5 miles without stopping?! How great is it that you started this program and stuck with it to…

I'm really glad to see people are still posting on this thread... I kinda missed everyone. lol Ladytrixbell, I really enjoy the runs without intervals. With the intervals, I always found myself worrying about when the next chance to walk would be based on how tired I thought I was. Without them, I can just... run. I…

Can anyone recommend a good app for my hubby's Blackberry Bold (9900)? The one he tried connected once to gps but seems to freeze while trying to connect now. Thanks! I don't have a smart phone so I track my runs with nike+ on my ipod nano (6th gen - no shoe chip). Works like a charm. =)

I was doing two runs together on weekends early on... but never more than 2. The thing is, even though we don't feel like we NEED the rest day our body is often recovering & doing repairs. I know you finished with insanity, is there something else that you can do on your off days to keep you moving but using your muscles…

Congratulations!

Finished week 6 yesterday. Had lots of ups and downs this week. The best run was w6d1, where I was able to pour some extra energy into the last 2.5 minutes and take the lead from the guys. It felt so great to finish strong! The worst was w6d2. I don't know if it was humidity, or I was over confident, or what, but I really…

LOL AglaeaC, this is what I see on your post: August 31, 2013 6:11 pm. It's 11:31 pm right now so I'm hanging on to August for 29 more minutes!

It's hard to resist adding extra runs in once you get started! I had the same urge to run as much as possible when I first started the program with my family. We have done 2 in a row but not more than that. I learned early on that by the third day my ankle is complaining and I'm pretty much sidelined for a complete rest…

I had trouble with my intervals this week (6). The more I focused on how tired or out of breath I was, the worse I felt it. To get through the runs, I had to ignore those thoughts and make small goals: "just get to the hill"; "make it to the tree"; "okay, now around the bend" until I took my mind off the other issues. lol…

Sounds like you are well on your way! We had a couple runs that where we had to improvise because of technology glitches. What can you do, right? Stuff happens. lol We just timed them the best we could and moved on. Have fun with week 2!

Awesome! Doesn't it feel like the time is flying by!?

After all the worrying I did leading up to w5d3, you would think I would have posted an update as soon as we finished. Oh no, not me... I didn't get a blog post done until the wee hours this morning (while I was doing the 'how the @#$% are you still awake at 2am' thing with my son)! For those interested, my virtual…

Great progress! Good for you! How did you find running intervals again after the long run? I seem to be doing a bit of mental heel dragging today - it's hard to get excited to go back to the short runs after doing w5d3. I would almost rather do two days of 10's. (Is that odd?) Going to check out your other thread now...

Let me know when you decide to do the next one. I have an actual 5K on September 28th so it would be fun to get some practice in. edit: LOL - guess I hit reply too soon! That's a prefect week for me because Hubby is away & I'll need some motivation to get my butt out the door. :D

Thanks Iowajen1979! Tonight is w5d3 - pep talk away! Freaking out a bit but going to give it my best shot.

MissK - How did you make out with w3d2??? Tonight I do w5d3 and I'm totally freaked about it. I haven't had to repeat a day yet but I have a sneaking suspicion that this will be the one. But, that's nerves talking. I already whined about days 1 & 2 in my blog so I'll just say that I found it difficult but doable. I also…

That's the same one I use. I think Rober Ullrey was the one I started with but couldn't stand the music... I'm pretty sure my eye was twitching faster than I was running! Edit to add: Did I congratulate you on day 3 yet?! I don't think I did! Congrats - I'm so freaking impressed! I'm doing mine tonight & terrified…

Sometimes the hardest step is the one that takes you out the front door! You should be proud of yourself for sticking with it & completing another step in the program! Keep up your hard work, it will be worth it in the end.

Same here! So funny!

I heard http://jog.fm/ is great for that. You can put in your pace and it will recommend songs for you that matches your bpm. ~~~~ Edit because my crazy computer posted before I finished typing!

That is so great! Thanks for the update! I'm still working away at it too - week 5, day 1 tomorrow.

Plexgut already said everything perfectly, but I just wanted to add my congratulations. Way to go, AglaeaC! I'm so glad you told yourself to give it a shot, now when you start to have doubts you can look back and remind yourself that you already did it!

I'm sorry I missed your question about the stroller, Addiec1. My son is also small for his age, (I think he is just a little over 30 lbs) and our stroller weighs 30 as well. My biggest complaint is that I don't get to move my arms enough. Our trail has a lot of people & pets, twists & turns, and little hills to navigate. A…
