Hubby and I just completed Week 2; Day 1 this evening. Loving it! For us it's exercise & family time - we take turns pushing our (almost) 3 year old son in the stroller. I don't have a smart phone so I listen to a podcast and direct our runs with that. There's lots of different ones out there, so download a couple to see…

Did you find anything for your tablet? I don't have a smart phone either so I have been directing our runs using a podcast on my ipod nano. I was looking for something that would map our run so I could compare it with the distances that the ipod is logging. Yeah, I have technology trust issues! A little about…

I just found your group. My husband and I just completed week 1 with our son along for the ride in a stroller. Loving it so far! My goal is for us to get out and do a color run together at the end of September. Thank you for the advice!

Maybe I have over complicated it, but I just enter my time running and then my time at a brisk walk. So this week (c25k week 1) I logged 8 minutes running & 22 minutes walking for each day. Hope that helps!

My husband & I started doing the C25K on Monday and we're also above 200 lbs. I was originally planning to wait until I was below 200 before I started running. Then I found out my town is hosting a color run in the fall!! Now I'm all in! Why wait, right? Feel free to send me a friend request if you want to swap stories as…

I just lost a little over 2 lbs on my ticker because it finally clicked in that selecting 'light clothes' on my Wii Fit was the reason my home number and gym number was different ! I'm a little slow in the mornings....

^This!^ Also, this sounds suspiciously like somebody being thoughtful. He had a celebration and wanted to share it with you. He brought cake. He remembered you were working hard and made sure it was a small piece.... Eat it or don't. I would be more concerned about why you're seeing "sabotage" in in a small gesture of…

I love Shock Absorber - especially the active mulit-sport bra. It glues my 38H's down and is super comfortable to wear. I picked mine up at The Bay (in Canada) on sale for about $60. http://www.shockabsorber.co.uk/en/products/active-range/active-multi-sports-support/

I'm like that when I go to the gym. I just want to drop my little man off at the playroom and have an hour or two to myself. When Hubby comes along I find feel distracted and rushed. We have two very different workouts and I'm always trying to guess how far he is in his because once he's done I always feel bad about taking…

"Make yourself stronger than your excuses." "If you still look cute at the end of your workout you didn't train hard enough." "Don't be mad about the results you didn't get from the work you didn't do." "I may not be there yet, but I'm closer than I was yesterday." "If you don't believe in yourself, why should anyone else?"

Yes! Same here!

I love it!

I had a TRS80! My entire family still references this game as the most annoying/most fun of all time. Edited to add: The old Tandy still works and lives, with it's friend the Vectrex, in my old room at my dad's house.

I have been wondering the same thing. Great topic!

^^^ THIS & This! Sparkle is the perfect word! Momma, you look beautiful! It is so wonderful that you took such a scary event, something that many people would use an excuse to do nothing, and turned it into a positive life change for yourself and your family. I wish many of my family members had your courage and drive!…

See a Dr if possible just to make sure you aren't injured. No point of pushing through if you pulled something. That said, I'm going to share my recent experience with quad pain..I hope you don't mind. On Tuesday I did a couple sets of leg presses at a high weight (for me) and then opted to do squats while waiting for the…

I'm pretty sure the ads that you see on the sidebar and the top are based on browsing data, so if you have been doing a lot of research on health/fitness/diets than you will be more likely see this type of ad. Right now my ads are Sears (just bought a new swimsuit) and fitbit (researching fitbit flex vs polar ft7). Try…

Oh... sports bras! Aren't they wonderful!? I have the Shock Absorber Active Multi-Sports Support bra and I think it is the best bra purchase that I have ever made! It is comfortable and very supportive. They also had one called the Ultimate Run bra but I found it to be too thin for my liking. The Mulit-Sport one can be a…

I started off with 8 & 10 dumbbells and a 18 lb body bar in March, moving up by small increments as they started getting too easy (too many reps in a set). Now have everything at 15 and just dropped the 24 lb body bar for 15 lb dumbbells. Should be moving to 20 lbs for a couple of exercises by mid June. Unless you are…

I didn't have to option as taking swimming lessons as a kid because I grew up in a small community where only swimming spot was the 'swimming hole' in the creek down the road. LOL Anyway, my 2.5 year old is turning into quite the little fish so hubby and I decided that we need to take lessons to help us keep up with him as…

I have so many things I want to say. lol I understand your concern about adding stress to your joints. I used to be very active as a kid. I was on the volleyball team but my first love was Track & Field. I loved, loved, loved sprinting... and long jump... and even discus & shot-put. I wasn't overly skilled in any but they…

Hi Ashley, Swimming is great. It sounds like you are working hard. I'm a complete newbie in the pool - only 2 classes left in basics then I move to strokes class when my gym starts the summer sessions. I reached my goal of starting lane swims a couple weeks ago and love it so far. It's not pretty... but I'm doing it.…

To not feel like I look like this when I play with my son at the playground. Especially when he wants me to go down the slides.... ETA: - I recently made my goal of swimming lanes for the first time ever! Next up is to actually learn how to do it well! (Next class starts in July) - To be able to shop in "normal" sizes…

I saw this topic last night and left it open so I would remember to comment on this awesome idea. To the OP, I just wanted to say that it was very sad to read about your grandfather. It is wonderful that you planned (and continue doing) this wonderful tribute. Best of luck to you all in this adventure! May the wind under…

Thank you for your post. Please excuse me if this is a silly question, but I'm still trying to figure this stuff out myself. How do you figure out your calories burned if you don't trust the machines or MFP?

I'm a SAHM as well. I'm also a stress eater, a meal skipper and a late night snacker. I'm working on the meal skipping thing right now; breakfast is getting better because I can just grab something when Little Man is eating his. It still isn't much, a piece of toast or fruit, but it's a start. Lunch is still a nightmare…
