I read an article today that said you could do some of your fasting whilst asleep - i.e. for 2 days you eat your restricted calories between the hours of 9am and 5pm and fast from 5pm to 9am - does this fit in with the 5:2 diet I wonder?

Look forward to hearing how you get on pure at heart - I have nine weeks to a holiday and lose weight very very slowly on 1400 cals a day, coupled with lots of exercise, maybe this would be good for me, just 21 days.. sounds like you have made a good start - will go and check the book out for myself.

Best advice I ever had was to always get them fitted by someone who knows what they're talking about AND having bought many pairs of walking shoes and apparel over the years, you do get what you pay for with walking gear.. don't skimp on price, spend as much as you can afford - a worthwhile investment for sure.

what an interesting thread, I am going to weigh everyday for the next ten days and log it, just about to start on a new fitness 'regime' so will be interesting to see how personal training sessions twice a week have an affect on weight and I am going to be brave and measure myself in the morning too :)

I didn't know that, thank you will see if I can see how it works.. I am another ex-WW - only have half a stone (ish) to lose now, have decided to use this and the money that I spent on WW will go to a gym that I want to go back to :)

me neither, just been checking out the rosemary conley FAB diet and she suggests that after the initial 4 weeks plan that for ONE day a week you should limit yourself back down to 1200 calories and increase your exercise on that day... interesting theory one I prefer to a cheat day I think.
