  • I didn't get a chance to check in yesterday, but I finished Week 7, Day 1!!! I attempted this workout on Monday, but had really bad side cramps about halfway through and ended up walking most of it. So I didn't count that one. Yesterday was my birthday, and I rocked it! I went super slow, but I focused on my breathing and…
  • I was hoping to check in today and tell you all that I rocked Week 7, Day 1. But no such luck! I had terrible side cramps - on my right side, at my upper rib cage. The odd thing is, I finished Week 6 on Saturday (22 minutes running) with no issues. I was running different paths - the Saturday run (at my house) is not very…
  • This morning I completed Week 6, Day 3! I took the path by our house that goes around the high school. I even crossed the road and ran in the bike lane so that I made a complete circle. Usually I just go to the halfway point and turn around. I really enjoyed the new route! Looking forward to starting Week 7 on Monday!
  • Just finished Week 6, Day 2 at lunch today. Started strong, and then in the second 10 minute run, started getting a little side cramp. So I did have to walk for about 20 seconds to work it out. I think that threw off my pace a little for the second mile, but I'm still really glad I got it done! Looking forward to…
  • Happy Tuesday everyone! I completed Week 6, Day 1 today. The weather was perfect! If I can get more nice days like this, the rest of the program will be a lot easier.
  • I finished Week 5 yesterday! This was the workout I tried on Thursday but didn't finish because of the heat. But yesterday I rocked it! Great cool weather made it a lot easier. I can't believe I ran for 20 minutes! My birthday is in a few weeks and I've asked my hubby to enter us in our first 5k together as my gift. I…
  • I was hoping to check in today and say that I finished Week 5, Day 3. I started it, but definitely didn't finish. The heat killed me. I didn't want to chance waiting to run this afternoon/evening because we are expecting storms. But, in keeping a positive attitude, I did not start walking until after I hit the halfway…
  • Sounds great - adding it to my calendar now!
  • I just describe my pace as slow  I'm in week 5, and my best mile time so far was 14 minutes. Better than the 20 it used to take me to walk a mile! I'm going for endurance, not speed right now. But once I finish the program, I'll work on speed.
  • Just completed Week 5, Day 2 at lunch. I usually check the next week's workouts when I finish a week. I did look at week 5 last week, but wasn't really paying attention. I didn't realize I was doing 2 eight minute segments today! I actually checked my phone (which I almost never do) to make sure I hadn't missed a cue to…
  • I forgot to check in this weekend - quick overnight trip to my in-laws in PA, so I wasn't near the computer too much! Saturday I started Week 5. It felt great. I was really worried because several 5 minute runs seemed so long, but I really got into a nice groove. And it was a nice intro to fall weather - it was cold! But,…
  • Yeah for holiday weeks - it's already Thursday! I finished Week 4, Day 3 today. I'll start Week 5 on Saturday. Still recovering from a nasty blister from Tuesday's run (forgetting socks plus running an unfamiliar nature trail), but I stuck it out. Yesterday was my cancer-versary - a year since I was diagnosed. A year ago…
  • Such great news! It's really wonderful to hear others accomplishing the program goal!
  • Today's lunchtime fun was Week 4, Day 2! I tried a new park near work, which was ok, but it was more nature trail than running trail. Natural paths with just fine gravel, no pavement. It is a sunny day, but I wouldn't want to chance running it after a rain - too many tree limbs and roots in the path. And in my haste, I…
  • I completed week 4, day 1 today! I'm so excited that I got the 5 minute run down. And during the last 5 minute set, Queen's " Fat Bottom Girls" came on the playlist. Great motivation to push to the end!
  • Happy Friday everyone!!! I did week 3, day 3 today. I've been running the trail on our office campus the last 2 weeks. I think next week I will try a local park. Just to mix it up. But first comes week 4, day 1 on Sunday. Looking forward to checking "5 minute jog" off the list of accomplishments!!
  • Thanks - I'm glad it helps! Great job getting up this morning to do the run! It's a great way to start the day. I just did mine on my lunch break. I'm looking forward to my next run on Sunday - it will be an early morning one - those are my favorite!
  • The first few workouts, I had to push myself. I had to find my groove. Now I'm doing it every other day. I look forward to it - maybe because I like to see my accomplishments. I'm in week 3, and so far I've done 2 work outs with two 3 minute runs. Today I'm going to finish the week. Think about where you were several…
  • Today's lunch run was Week 3, Day 2. I thought I would beat the rain, but during the cool down when it started pouring. I was worried at first, but then just enjoyed the walk in the rain. It felt really nice and cool. And I reminded myself - you just ran two 3 minute sets!!!! So proud of how far I've come in just a few…
  • Welcome to the program! I'm into week 3 and loving it. That shirt is great - it's great motivation. I need to create one for my first 5K, something about beating cancer, etc.
  • Happy Monday! Just completed Week 3, Day 1 today. What a bear! I didn't know if I was ready to do 2 three minute spurts, but I did it! Now I'm pumped to do it 2 more times this week!
  • I got my butt out of bed at 6 this morning to do Week 2, day 3! It was actually a great way to start my day. Now planning to run three days next week - looking forward to it!
  • Great job! Glad you liked it!
  • Glad you were able to get up and get moving! That can definitely be the hardest part. Way to go!
  • Hope everyone is having a great day! We have a town hall meeting at work today, so I took an early lunch just to get my work out in. I did Week 2, Day 2 today. Still loving this program!
  • Great job! When I see others hitting these numbers, I know I can do it too!
  • Thanks - I figured out a different point to start because I started back tracking a little, so I'll adjust my starting point next time. I gave the doe plenty of room - as soon as she saw me, she ran the opposite direction and disappeared into the woods within seconds. I think we were both pretty surprised to see each other!
  • I'm enjoying this program so much, I brought my work out clothes to work and did my workout on my lunch break! I found a nice wooded trail behind our building at work and even came upon a deer, about 2 feet away! Today was week 2, day 1. Of course, on this trail that I am not entirely familiar with, my first run was up a…
  • I forgot to check in on Friday. I did week 1, day 2. Today I did week 1, day 3. I'm really enjoying the program and am definitely making an effort to schedule my workouts, which is a first for me! Must mean I've found the right plan and maybe I'll become a runner yet!
  • I started C25K yesterday! I downloaded a great app a few months ago and have been stalking this board and then I finally ran out of excuses not to start. I love the app - start walking, start running. The route I take to walk with my toddler worked out to be perfect. As soon I got back, I started looking up 5Ks to run.…
