Thank goodness, you did not say "Go Tarheels," I would not be able to be your friend if you had! :D Greenville was my home stomping grounds, (Go Pirates!) but three of my kids now live in Raleigh.

Classico Tomato & Basil has only 8 grams carbs with 2 grams fiber per serving....not too bad if you are careful the rest of the day.

Jumping in late, I just joined this group! 9/21 Weighed in :) Logged. :) Macros. :) Exercise. :) 9/22 Got in a BAD car accident on the way to work and possibly totaled my Subaru! T-boned another car that ran a red light - we all walked away. In spite of that, managed to avoid stress-eating carbs and I hit my step goal for…

I have been using the urine keto strips and get consistent readings (and I drink 10 or more cups of water a day!). They usually turn the darkest, or next-to-darkest shade. I do not know how accurate they are, but I find it a bit reassuring, and encourages me to press on.

Is "starting weight" our weight at the beginning of this challenge, or our weight at the beginning of our weight-loss journey? It seems some have posted one, and some have posted the other...so I am not sure which to give.

I am currently experimenting with Keto (about 12 days in) so I am not super experienced...but definitely up for encouragement/support!

IF is intermittent fasting.

Keep 'em coming, ya'll. Love to read everyone's success stories!

I've been away from the forums for a few weeks, but I updated my stats on the chart today. Coincidentally, I hit a plateau the first 2 weeks of September. I have been told that is quite normal for your body to plateau after you lose 10 lbs. then kick in again...especially in people who don't have a lot to lose. That is…

Actually, I (and many others) have found success doing EXACTLY the opposite! I am practicing intermittent fasting and I don't eat anything in the morning. In fact, most days I don't eat until around 1:00 p.m. I workout fasted and have found that to work really well for me. That being said, I think you should use whatever…

Scales that measure body fat are notoriously inaccurate. 136 lbs. CAN be an "ideal" weight for someone your height...but it means working out hard and having significant muscle mass. A 5'5" female that weighs 136 lb. and lifts heavy weights and has a lot of muscle mass could potentially have only 12% body fat. Here are…

Started this month at 146 Ended at 141.8 Total loss 4.2 lbs which is 2.88% Count me in for September...I want to continue at my 1 lb. per week rate of loss. (Well, of course I'd LOVE to lose at a faster rate, but 1 lb. per week is a healthy & sustainable for me.) ;)

In the past I have had a bad habit of just wolfing down my food...especially if I allowed myself to get famished. I am trying to NOT do that anymore. I'm also trying to not nibble or snack. I am trying to eat because I am hungry, not because I am bored, or just wanting to eat. And when I eat, I try to focus on what I'm…

May or may not apply in the OP's case, but here is an interesting video that explains how the movement of squats changes based on the proportions of a person's body ( to be more specific dorsiflexion range, tibia length, floor to knee length, femur length, torso length, as well as load placement at different heights &…

I replied to someone with a similar struggle in another group. You might like to read some of the responses there for encouragement and strategies. community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/10240925/in-need-of-some-tough-love#Item_12

Oh dear! I so know what you mean. I get discouraged and lose momentum. It really sucks. So here is my advice: Do WHATEVER it takes to get yourself PUMPED UP! My tagline on my bio page is "I am FIERCE! I am STRONG!" Wanna' know why? Cause that's what I want to be! Whenever I am not "feeling it" I have to tell myself that…

Actually, I had thought of requesting you to be a friend in the past when I have seen some of your posts, but I feared you might be weirded out by a stranger asking. Friend request sent...accept it IF YOU DARE!! :-D

I am RELIEVED to be back down to last week's number today. I had bounced up a few pounds earlier this week due to hormones (i.e. it's been SHARK WEEK for me) and some bad food choices. Here's hoping I return to more downward motion this coming week. ;) August starting weight: 146 lbs Week 1: 144 lbs Week 2: 143.2 lbs Week…

You can find them in any department store or on Amazon. They are not very accurate. Here's more information from an article on Livestrong's website: Body fat scales use a technology called bioelectrical impedance analysis to measure body fat. A small, unnoticeable electrical current is sent from one foot, up one leg and…

Well, there are now two weigh-in threads, so I guess I'll post in both ;) August starting weight: 146 lbs Week 1: 144 lbs Week 2: 143.2 lbs August goal: 142 lbs Overall goal: 125 lbs

Put my name in the pot, please. I don't want to lose the momentum I have worked up these past few months.

Don't worry about the beers. Check what you are eating in addition to the beers and don't mindlessly snack while you are drinking. Plan ahead for those days you are going to indulge and make sure the beer is part of your allotted calorie requirements. Also, unless you actually ENJOY light beer, don't waste your time with…
