All runs are good runs :)

I'll make this as simple as possible: Weight loss = calories in - calories out. Do more, eat less and you will loose weight, and MFP is a really easy way to track that. This is not to say that there aren't lots of nuances: You need a good balanced diet to be healthy. Personally I consider balanced in the same way MFP does…

All this ^^^ makes might be of interest to someone who is trying to achieve a particular look or compete in a particular event - but we are all in basic agreement: Exercise in any shape or form does not make you fat. Period. That said, my 2 cents is that all the athletes I know don't really give a monkeys how they look in…

Absolutely fair. Hate to admit it but Italy deserved that.
-
Oh come on... really???

I just have visions of us going out to Germany on penalties....It feels like fate. Mind you, having seen Germany take Greece to pieces I would be happy to get that far.
-
Congratulations. Were you pleased with your time?

Sounds like its time to get a new trainer.... OK, maybe I'm being harsh - but if (s)he had said 'the most effective way to loose fat is to do a combination of strength and cardo training with an emphasis on strength' I would have respected (but disagreed) with their view. But gain fat? utter nonsense!

I really want us (England) to win this but I would day Italy are a small bit better right now...

Respect in any relationship, in any direction is simple to define: Its admiring each others strengths and accepting each others weaknesses. If you want someone to feel respected, tell people about the things they do well - don't go on about the things they do badly.
-
In my opinion there are no quick fixes - weight loss is basically calorie in vs calorie out. From what I read, there has only been one test which links green coffee to weight loss and it only looked at 16 people - hardly conclusive…

LOL - I think I love you a bit! I'm going to answer your question with a question: is there something specific you want which you're not doing? Tell him! And after you do that he will probably open up about what he wants....
-
I think that people have to motivate themselves - there is nothing you can do for them unless they directly ask you for something (Like "what was the name of the web site you used for calorie tracking" or "What was the name of that program you used to get running" or "Can I tag along with you to your training session" )…

The same way I like sex: Expresso.

The consensus at my running club is that the 205/305 are still the best value - you can pick them up for about £100. The newer models are better (except the 405 which doesn't work when you sweat) but cost a lot more.

And congratulations!

Agree with the others: It doesn't matter what you eat so long as it fits your macros. Personally I wouldn't want to eat three a day but that's just me.
-
Much as I want to encourage you to do events - especially a half marathon which I know you will love - I'll try and answer your question directly. Having just completed a Marathon, I find that anything up to 15 miles as a long run doesn't tire me out for the rest of the day. As such I try and alternate my weekends between…

Taken about 15 minutes after I completed the Brighton Marathon - Complete with Medal.

Depends how you define obese - I don't think a trainer needs to be at peak fitness and its fine to be carrying a bit of weight etc - but if someone had completely let themselves go physically I just don't think I could respect their opinions on the best training program for me.
-
Short answer: Yes. Long answer: Yes, but I think healthy looking = attractive. This includes quite a big range of weights, sizes and shapes and doesn't make defined muscles or being super skinny a pre-requisite.

Details, details....

Thinking about Hit Girl is likely to get most adult men arrested.... Looking forward to a squeal in which she is age-appropriate!!! I think its called Hermione Granger syndrome...

Aquaman Because: 1) I like fish (to eat) 2) I like fish (To look at) 3) I fancy Arial from 'The little mermaid' 4) I am training for my first triathlon and being able to breathe underwater would be really handy - especially as I'm having to learn crawl from scratch for the event 5) Orange and green Lycra. And with pants on…

Conclusion: Not all trainers are any good!!
-
*Thinking* I was probably dehydrated before the run rather than needing liquid during the course - however I suspect that someone doing a 10K in similar conditions in over an hour is going to need water!
-
In fairness I was trying for my first sub 20 in 26 degrees C on a humid day and the weather had only just gone from up 12 Degrees the previous week... The thing is I crashed at 3K and I was completely, utterly gone - Its a combination of the conditions and how hard you are pushing as I said.
-
If you are running 5K whilst working hard (i.e top end of your heart rate) in hot conditions you will need water or you will crash out. Trust me, I've seen it and I've done it.

I burn about 15 calories per minute running an 8 minute mile. At this speed I would take a Gel at about 7 miles, knowing that I would start to feel the impact around mile 8 - i.e about 960 Calories into the race. I would then Gel about every 30 minutes/4 miles/450 calories - so in a half marathon I would take my second gel…
