  • Awwww, Thank You so much again everyone!!! Fot those who asked for tips: My main tip is, make this YOUR journey!! OWN it!!! No matter what anyone says, we are all different. Yes, the basic is calories in < calories out. And MFP gives us the tools to do it. But don't be afraid to experiment what works best for YOU!!…
  • Oh WOW!!! Thank you all sooo so much!!! :flowerforyou: Yes, I feel so much healthier, confident and just ... happy with myself!!! And a word of incouragement for those just starting out: If I can do this ... SO CAN YOU!!! Let me tell you, the results are MORE than worth it!!! When the going gets tough (and there will be…
  • All I can say is WOW WOW WOW!!! HUGE CONGRATULATIONS!!! :flowerforyou: What an incredible transformation, commitment and success!!! And such an inspiration!!!
  • OK ... 1) I think you're confusing *exercise* burn with *total* daily burn! Total daily burn (= TDEE = total daily energy expenditure, or something like that (haven't finished my morning coffee LOL)) includes: - your BMR = the calories your body burns just to stay alive without moving a muscle (fueling organs, brains etc),…
  • At the beginning of this journey my Why was that I was getting sick of feeling sick ... and fat and unfit and unhealthy. Now, being well past the half-way mark, my Why is: "Because I CAN do it!!!"
  • German born and bred, have now been living in Australia for nearly 25 years and a proud Australian citizen
  • Being an insomniac I eat throughout the night daily and I'm losing. All that matters is the total calories consumed not when they are consumed, so if you make sure you have enough calories left for late night eating you'll be fine :)
  • Time doesn't matter one bit, all that matters is the total amount of calories. I eat roughly 2/3 of my daily calories late at night because I'm a night owl and that's when I'm most hungry and I can't get to sleep hungry. I know that I will be hungry so after dinner I pre-log and, if possible, pre-weigh/prepare my late…
  • Oh Wow! Thank you again, I hadn't realised this thread has been 'reactivated' :)
  • Awww, Thank You again!!!
  • Thank you :flowerforyou: Yes, it's hard work and takes commitment but with MFP I find it easier than I thought it would be. My average loss is starting to slow down somewhat now (as expected) but No, I will not stop this time around!!!
  • My apologies, I missed those previous threads. No more responses here needed then.
  • Been there, done that! ... and then I regained more than half of what I'd lost (as you know). I'm determined to find motivation right through this time!!! Maybe buy some (cheap) clothes that are just a little too small so you're motivated to fit into them ASAP :)
  • WOW!!! You look FANTASTIC!!! You should be so very proud of your accomplishment already!!! :flowerforyou: Good Luck with the rest of your journey!!
  • I've had the Fitbit One for exactly one month and I LOVE it! I wear it clipped onto a pretty strong necklace like a pendant and then tucked into the bra so it's out of sight and (hopefully) quite secure. I was pretty shocked to find how little I was actually moving throughout the day and it certainly motivates me every day…
  • We have similar goals, I want to loose a total of 50kg (~ 110 lbs), down 18.5 kg (~ 41 lbs) so far. I log on every day, add me if you like ... anyone :) PS: Sent you a request, Sarah :)
  • I agree, if you feel like weighing do it but don't stress about the results. If you feel it may add to your stress if you see unexpected results, skip it! You're very first priority needs to be to get this weekend over, recover from the stress and feel better. As you said, you're here for the long term, one weigh-in or one…
  • I pre-plan my dinners for a week and I log day-to-day around it. The rest I play by ear depending on what I feel like and how hungry I am. I always log before preparing the food though, that way I can adjust it according to what I have left, especially for supper and snacks.
  • Hi Stephanie, and Welcome back  My name is Astrid, I live in Australia and I'm an 'on again - off again looser', too. Since I found MFP in March I've been on a serious mission to make it all the way down to a healthy weight this time. I have a total of 110 lbs to loose (down 17.4kg = ca. 38 lbs, so far - I'm a…
  • This is all just still so fresh for you and I am so sorry you had to deal with those hurtful remarks on top of it! :( Please don't feel bad about posting this topic! I haven't seen any drama or anything wrong in you posting this!!! Everyone is different and everyone grieves in different ways whichever way you need to deal…
  • I'm with you, Pam, maybe I'm old fashioned but in my opinion it's only polite to respond and even if it's only a "tnx". If I send a message that doesn't require acknowledgement I precede it with: "Just FYI: ,,," HOWEVER, I do have people who don't respond either or don't respond in a timely manner, and rather than getting…
  • I am so sorry for your loss. It is obvious that you are still very much in the grieving process. That will take as much time as you need, for some that means months, for others it means years. In my opinion and experience (lost my mother 35 years ago, my father in 2003 and my husband in 2006) the 'fading' of our loved…
  • Being a compulsive perfectionist (not a healthy thing to be!!!), which means all my life I've never been "good enough" for my own expectations which, in turn, resulted in very low self-esteem, this time I'm trying very hard to aim for achievable rather than too high so that I actually have a chance to go above and beyond.…
  • It may or may not be. Please let me add to the chorus that tells you to please see a doctor! Like has been said repeatedly, a forum cannot tell you for sure why your periods have ceased. It could be any number of reasons and some of them very serious! I, too, don't mean to scare you but they do need to be ruled out! I know…
  • Well, apart from being fair skinned and turning lobster shade easily, I have no intention of increasing my risk of skin cancer so no intentional tanning for me (and I don't like 'fake tan') no matter what size I am (or will be again) ... just saying ...
  • WOW! ... just ....WOW!!! Amazing job and Amazing difference!!! Congratulations!!!
