I've heard 30 minutes 5x/week for your health is minimum to maintain your health.

Yummo!

Homemade chicken noodle soup and cornbread, seeing that I'm currently running an infirmary :(

Congrats!!! I can't wait til I'm there... slowly, but surely. Do something special for yourself as a reward; you deserve it :)

Now that's funny, and I can totally relate.

Congrats to you! Wow! I have really enjoyed reading everyone's posts regarding lowering cholesterol. This is the number one reason why I joined this site. I have currently started trying to excerise and eat healthier. My doctor says that the next time I go that I will have to start taking cholesterol medicine if I don't…

You guys are all so sweet and have given me some really great info. Don't be surprised if I send each of u friend requests :) Have a wonderful rest of the week.

It's going to hopefully lower my cholesterol.

Great idea!!!

I think we've all been there if we're completely honest. You look very young. I know for alot of us 'older' folks it has as much to do with good health and staving off things like heart disease/diabetes, etc than to look good (although that's huge, too). I just finished a book, The Life You Want by Bob Greene, and it deals…

Anything and everything :) I love the coffee, hummus, goat cheese with honey, etc. but the chick pea salad is my new fav... oh my yum.

I guess it's a good thing we're only responsible for ourselves.

Thanks y'all. I'm always going over with my sugar and am thinking about substituting stevia for honey with a couple of things.

Well, I appreciated the post. Heart disease runs rampant in my family, and it's something that I'm aware of for my own sake. Thanks for the info. Sending a friend request your way :)

I just had my cholesterol checked, but why a stress test?

Y'all are my favorite people today. Sending friend requests your way... Thanks for the encouragement :)

I had the same problem. What has helped me is having something on hand for my cravings. I found a few things in the heath food section of my grocery store that suffices my cravings. Don't give up or be too hard on yourself, most importantly :)

Great way to start the day. Thanks and much success to you this week :)

I'm from the big metropolis of Kilgore :) Welcome!

That's great advice. There are two problems with what your trainer is suggesting (other than the fact that he is a doughhead): One, he obviously hasn't taken your current level of conditioning into account--he has basically given you a "cook book" workout that doesn't address your specific needs and ability at this time;…

Wow. Great advice that I'll definitely use. Thanks a ton to each of you and have a GREAT weekend :)
-
That's good info. I like breaking up my cardio, b/c I tend to get bored and like the diversion of strength training. Thanks so much :)

It's really sad and frustrating. I've started shopping at Trader Joe's and love it so much more.

I've read to boost your metabolism 1) always eat breakfast, and 2) eat frequently and in small proportions. I began the program a week ago Monday eating right and exercising (at least 30 min cardio 5/week), and I've been a little sluggish this week, especially in the evenings. I'm thinking/hoping my body is just adjusting…

Too funny!!!

You're such an inspiration!

Congratulations!!! What an encouragement.

I had the same problem, so I went browsing in the health food section of my grocery store. I was pleasantly surprised at what I found. Aside from the Biggest Loser chocolate protein shake, I've fallen in love with Pamela's Chunky Chocolate Chip cookie. Best of luck and much success. Remember... the pleasure of the taste…

Gracious that sounds good right now!
