I didn't have time to read all these comments, so I'm sorry if I repeat anything that anyone else has said! That's awesome that you're going vegan! I agree with the comments about how being vegan doesn't necessarily equate to weight loss or good health -- BUT! my vegan lifestyle is ridiculously healthy and delicious, so we…

I'm having a hard time with the "all vegan protein shakes are disgusting" comments... What a blanket statement! I absolutely love Vega Sport (make sure it's "sport"!) as do my friends and my non-vegan sister. I haven't tried the other Vega options, but this one is great. Be sure to get chocolate, mocha, or vanilla, and not…

Salut, flexible bliss ! I'm a college graduate (23 at the moment) and can totally relate to your desire to stay healthy during college. I made it three pretty healthy years and a horribly unhealthy senior year! I love books, French (the language and all other French things), coffee, traveling, etc. I live in South Korea…

When I have a day where I went way over, I just call it life and move on. Just don't worry about it! Go back to your normal deficit and just think about your day today. If you try to overcompensate you risk creating a unhealthy mindset about your eating and exercising habits. That's just my two cents. :D

I'm 23, graduated uni two years ago, but still young! I've lost 27 pounds slow and steady using MFP, with another 10 to go before I'm at my "ideal" weight. Feel free to add me! I update daily. :)

Hey! I'm also an expat! I'm in the middle of my second year in South Korea, and I follow the no rice, eat lots of veggies and protein diet! (Ice cream and wine are welcome :D). And I've been a vegetarian for about ten years. I track daily, too. Feel free to add me as a friend. :)

Definitely! I wish there was an alert on my computer when someone posts in this group because I'm always missing them, lol. I'm hoping to make France my "homebase" for as long as possible. Preferably for life, haha. It'll be hard but I have a "France-or-bust" mentality! How's your loss going so far?

Oh there's definitely a difference, great work!

@embaudin -- Language hasn't been too big an issue living here, and though I've dabbled with learning a bit, I haven't made any grand efforts! My boyfriend's Korean and he tries to infuse each day with new words, so I suppose I'm picking it up that way, haha. I study French two hours a day, which leaves little room for…

That's definitely not a "freak" thing at all. As far as your menstrual cycle goes, there are a plethora of smartphone apps to choose from for tracking it (I have one) and plenty of people track their food intake, macros, etc. (ahem... MFP!) so clearly many people do it. That seems like an innappropriate way for your doctor…

That's fantastic! You look happier and younger, for sure. Also, I LOVE that shirt in your "now" photo! I grew up reading the Mr. books. :)

This is the situation I'm in, too! Thank you so much for posting, you look great -- keep it up! And also, I love those black and pink shorts. :D

I'm in a similar weight boat as you, currently 5'5.5" 147 lbs. and aiming for 125-135 (I haven't been down there since early high school and I'm 23 now, so I'm not sure yet where in that weight range I will feel healthiest.)

@embaudin -- Yes, Insadong is great! :) Thanks for the tip. One of the great things about Korea is that those fresh veggies are in abundance. There are little old ladies sitting on the tiles in the underground metro stops selling vegetables, which is something I'm not used to in the States, haha. We should resurrect this…

My father is an alcoholic who I eventually had to cut from my life and my brother-in-law struggles with sobriety, and I have zero issue with your post title. The quotes around the word clearly show that it was not a typical case of sobriety and your heart was obviously in the right place. Of course I in no way want to…

Don't lose confidence. Are you exercising as well? If you're just cutting calories you may lose weight (or stay the same, in your case) but not necessarily be losing just fat. If I were you I'd get myself to the local gym and talk with a professional about an exercise routine that you can maintain (preferably one that…

I'm a 32FF and have been thinking about the effect of exercising on my breasts, too. I don't have any pain but I worry that I'm somehow (and this is going to sound absolutely ridiculous, I'm aware) going to cause them to sag more or somehow lose their perkiness (what's left of it, haha) because of five days of running each…

Bump for later. :)

You look fabulous, way to stick with it!

I actually live in South Korea right now and I do understand where the OP is coming from. My students constantly have handheld mirrors or their (HUGE! :) ) smartphones set to camera-mode in order to check themselves out all the time. Thin middle school girls (14/15 years old) tell me they are fat. It's a little…

Hey, great idea for a group! I'm an expat (of course) from New England currently making my home in South Korea. I second your troubles with shopping for food. Even reading some Korean does not help me much here! :)

This post just made my night. Good for you, ride that bike! :)

The best part is how happy you look!! Keep at it! You look fantastic. I hope you feel fantastic, too. :)

Haha, I agree with this. ^^ 22 year old NH girl living in S. Korea, my diary is an open book. :)
