I do have thick thighs, but always had thigh gap because I have really wide hips.

arguing semantics is ridiculous. muscle takes up less space than fat, therefore muscle weighs more than fat if you compare the same volume. it doesn't matter how you say it. if you look at a muscular person and a non-muscular person who have the same overall mass, the muscular person would weigh more because muscle weighs…

wow, it's amazing to me that women actually think this will happen. it is extremely hard for me to build any sort of muscle. i have absolutely no fear of ever looking too manly. oh and online calculators of body fat percentage are incredibly inaccurate.

She's already underweight. I wouldn't suggest eating at a calorie deficit at all. That would result in losing more weight which is a bad idea.
-
this. unbelievable. why in the world would anyone think that food designed for a baby is the perfect diet food? ugh
-
This would certainly explain why eating a 1200 calorie diet worked so well for me and others stall on it since I was never all that overweight to being with.
-
yeah, i'm a size 4 and just make it to be too thin to donate blood, so a size 0 wouldn't work for me other than in extreme vanity sizing.
-
I am very uncomfortable in a 10 or 12. I consider myself curvy though. I have naturally big hips, but at a 10 or 12, that was a lot of extra fat. I was only 140 pounds and 5'4" at my highest size of 12. I'm now a size 4 or 6 and 109 pounds. That's good for me. I could probably never be a 0 either.

yes, her honest opinion makes her soul look ugly to me.
-
wow, this statement doesn't say much for your soul.
-
but most people don't lose weight and as they age, most people get ugly anyway. i'm more into personality than looks, so i'd go with the one with the better personality. also, how chubby are we talking? if it's a little chubby, who cares! if they are 500 pounds then no thanks.
-
They are talking about people who eat 1,200 calorie diets. I am one of those people.
-
not self-righteous. i'm criticizing the diaries of people who are telling me that i did it wrong merely for the fact that i ate 1200 calories while dieting. they are the ones being self-righteous, not me.
-
I'm happy with my 109 pound body tyvm.
-
Her entire point about not eating enough before is useless if she was eating 1200 calories or 1400 calories and half of it was beer and the rest mcdonalds and frozen dinners. Of COURSE she was starving on a diet like that. When I eat 1200 calories, I'm not drinking all that alcohol or eating that crap.
-
I'm perfectly healthy after my 1200 calorie diet. sorry to disappoint you.
-
I put them in omelets and on pizzas, but I like veggies, so this probably won't work for you.
-
I am finished losing weight. I am no longer making sure to eat a 1200 calorie diet. I'm not really sure how many calories I'm eating now because I don't log anymore. I'll log again if I gain weight. So far I haven't gained weight. I didn't view 1,200 as an extreme cut regardless because it felt fine to me. So, for people…
-
yep. All these people who yo-yo dieted are lecturing us. I have never yo-yo dieted. I suddenly gained weight after I turned 35. Now I'm thin again and planning to stay that way. So, all these people who failed think that they have the answers for me, but they do not.

BECAUSE I AM FULL ON 1200 CALORIES A DAY. I'M NOT GOING TO FORCE MYSELF TO EAT MORE WHEN I'M FULL. THAT'S RIDICULOUS.
-
Why do you assume that if it didn't work for you that I'm an idiot and it won't work for me? I'M NOT YOU!!!!!
-
I don't know how tall you are, but at my height 115 pounds is not too low. 1700 calories would be too high for me.
-
I fuel my body just fine.
-
That was the only part of your post that I had an issue with. There is no way to bold parts of posts that I know of, so I just quoted that portion of it.
-
not yet. will read later.
-
BECAUSE I WAS FULL ON 1200 CALORIES A DAY. WHAT DO YOU NOT GET ABOUT THAT?
-
The drama is due to posts like this. I lost 30 pounds on 1200 calories a day and haven't gained any of it back since even though I upped my calories. When you repeatedly tell people they are doing it wrong and claim to know better than them, when they know that they are doing just fine that's annoying. You can do what's…
-
thanks! good luck to you too!
-
who are these so called experts? MFP set me at 1,200 calories to lose less than a pound a week. So you think you are more of an expert than the people who made this website? i think it's perfectly healthy and you're wrong. you can say it all you want, but until i gain the weight back which is highly unlikely, i'm not gonna…

I think that you have to use some common sense about it. If you feel terrible on 1200 calories a day, then you need to up your calories. If you feel fine and are losing weight, I don't see any good reason not to do it regardless of what the condescending know it alls say on here. My starting weight also wasn't that high,…
