  • They Syntrax Nectar Fuzzy Navel flavor is great and I just ordered the Cappucino flavor also. It's great to use as a shake or to add to your coffee as a creamer (with protein!) Samples is the way to go until you find what you like. I recommend doing a protein powder swap with some of your friends who also have powders. We…
  • All dr's are different. For example, mine had me on a two week low fat diet only. I opted to include extra protein for the week prior and then went to soft foods two days before and liquids only the day before surgery. I heard horror stories of people having their "last meal" just a couple days before surgery and then not…
  • My dr. said to wait 8 weeks to do core workouts. Don't rush yourself. You'll do more harm than good. Good luck in your journey!
  • I'm from the south...Texas to be exact! This is my favorite soup recipe. TACO SOUP 1.5 lbs ground turkey (browned and drained) -OR- ground beef, or diced chicken In stock pot or crockpot add: 1 small yellow onion, diced 1 envelope of Taco Seasoning 1 envelope of Ranch Dressing Powder 2 medium cans of Tomato Sauce 1 can of…
  • I was sleeved 9/3/13 and have lost about 73 pounds in the last 3 months. My only regret is not doing it sooner. I post my food diary daily and would like to be friends with others who do the same. Feel free to add me if you keep your diary open. Good luck in your journey! ~Autumn
  • I was Type 2 for 13 years before surgery and gestational with all 3 kids. I was on insulin for the last 7 years and haven't had any since surgery. I'm 3 mos. post op and down to one tiny pill at night but that's it! My sugars are outstanding. This surgery has saved my life!!! Good luck on your journey!
  • Good luck with your surgery tomorrow! I know it will go well. Feel free to add me to your friends list anytime!!! Congrats!
  • It will be worth it in the end. Many of us only had to do ONE visit with our nutritionist. The more educated you are the better patient you will be post op. Don't worry! I had the same requirement as you but since I was a "regular" patient at my dr. office already, and we usually talked about my diet and what I was eating…
  • I love the Syntrax Nectar "Fuzzy Navel" flavor. Strawberty Kiwi is okay too and I haven't tried the Lemon Tea one. I just ordered the Cappucino flavor to get me through the winter. I tried it once and it was great! My favorite source of protein comes from the Quest bars, not a protein powder. The shakes do get old even if…
  • Gabs- When I was at your stage I was on soft foods only. Yogurt, cottage cheese, ricotta cheese, blended soups, fish, tuna, applesauce, scrambled eggs, etc. Basically anything you can mash with a fork is how they explained it to me. If you try something and you don't tolerate it well, wait about 2 weeks and try it again.…
  • I'm three months out TODAY! I eat just about whatever I want except for things really spicy or fried. I stay away from bread, rice, pasta and other similar carbs. I've learned how to make some Yummy pizza using Flat Out Light flat bread that is so good! I haven't eaten a lot of fresh fruit or salad yet since I'm still…
  • Buy single serve samples of different brands and flavors. If you're sick of the vanilla/chocolate flavors, try Syntrax Nectar. It comes in fruit flavors that are good. I drink a "fuzzy navel" every day AND a vanilla or chocolate protein shake! Ask the vitamin store you shop at for samples. They usually keep them in the…
  • I looked for the Cappaccino flavor when I went in but they didn't carry that particular flavor. Bummer! I like it when my friend let me try hers so I'll keep searching for it. Thanks ladies!
  • Hi Ya'll. I'm Autumn and I was sleeved on 9/3/13. I love my sleeve and am looking forward to my next mini-goal! Most recently, I lost the title of highest weight in my house to my oldest son and my hubby! Pretty soon, I'll be the smallest of the 5 of us. (I have three teenagers) I attend a local weight loss surgery support…
  • Not sure where this recipe is from. Someone emailed it to me :) 1 cup of oatmeal processed in a blender/food processor into flour. *1 cup BEFORE it is processed, it will be less afterwards* - 5 scoops of vanilla protein powder. * I have done a mixture of chocolate and vanilla before and that was great too* - 1 tsp Baking…
