  • I'm with you on this. I'm not saying that I think some of MFP buddies are liars, but some of those numbers are INSANE! I wear a Polar Watch which has been specifically calibrated to MY body and fitness level, via a VO2 assesment. When I look at other's results on what I would assume would be similar excersizes, they are…
  • See if you have anywhere nearby that offers a BOD POD. They are AMAZING!!! Accurately measures your lean mass vs. fat in just a few minutes. Our local Baseline Fitness (www.baselinefitness.com) has a BOD POD and they only charge $25. I get one every 3 months. It's a great tool and gives a much accurate picture of your…
  • Really looking forward to this group! Thanks for putting this together!!! One note, I put in my overall goal weight - not the goal by New Years! As much as I would LOVE to lose nearly 35 lbs in 8 weeks - I don't think I could do it naturally, or healthy! My goal would actually be more like 10 lbs. Good luck, ladies!!!
  • I just joined a group today that is doing a NYE challenge. Just fill out this form and the person organizing it will follow up with all the details... https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/viewform?formkey=dEFLSHlhZC1mNlFoZTV4Y0JWYjZMWnc6MQ
  • Thanks for leading the charge! Really looking forward to this new challenge!!!
  • I think you're too hung up on that silly scale! You should find a Bod Pod in your area and have your true body fat vs. lean mass calculated. If you have 95 lbs of lean mass - you're never going to be able to weigh 100 lbs and be healthy. Your goal should be measured by your overall body fat - not the scale. Every body is…
  • Out of curiosity....are you sure you're not already right were your body should be? I would LOVE to get down to 130-140, but the fact is, I have 115 lbs of lean mass. So, I'm going to have to settle for getting down to about 160 as my lowest weight. Have you ever went to get a bod-pod? It is probably the most accurate way…
  • I remember the night I realized that I could feel/see my collar bones again. I nearly broke down into tears! Congratulations on your success!!!

  • I totally feel your pain! I was stuck in the same 5 lbs here recently, and as strange as it sounds - I took nearly a week off from my work-outs and lost 5 lbs! I have lost 89.4 lbs so far and done so by strength training (with a personal trainer) 2-3 times a week, doing various cardio work-outs another 2-3 times a week,…
  • Polar is the best! But not cheap!!!
