Popcorn for me too! You could also try making kale chips. They're tasty to much on, but they don's really fill me up like popcorn does. A little bit of cheese and crackers is good too, but be careful because it's easy to over do it. They do fill you up, though! Try whole grain crackers.

I agree with nordlead, rest a bit and see if it helps, then build your mileage slowly. When you start back up, try wearing compression sleeves while you're walking. Something like this: http://www.amazon.com/Zensah-Calf-Splint-Compression-Sleeve/dp/B005LZVM2Y They offer a little extra support and might help you out. I used…

Try using it in something instead of plain. Shred it and add spices and make chicken tacos. Or add it to a sauce or soup. That might help!

Why is everyone assuming she's getting enough protein in her diet already or that she somehow doesn't know if she is? If she's supplementing, I'm sure it's for a reason. Personally, I can never quite seem to hit my protein goals. Shakes are a helpful way to fill up and easy on my stomach early in the morning or after a…

I do yogurt too, but I think a cup of tea with milk and a teaspoon of sugar helps more!

I just saw this. Sounds like a fun idea, I might try it! Barely one step up from boiled eggs. http://www.scatteredthoughtsofacraftymom.com/2013/05/2-minute-omelette-in-mug.html

I find that if I don't at least have a little something soon after cardio, even if I don't feel particularly hungry, I'll be starving in a couple of hours and eat everything in the house. Like yesimpson, it's usually something like a protein shake or yogurt. I think it's personal, though. If you aren't hungry, you probably…

I ran 3 days a week, anywhere from 2-9 miles, but I think keeping an eye on my diet was more important. Running helped me stay within my calories, though.
-
Yeah, I shot up about 5 pounds. I'm trying to drink lots of water and move more. I have to think at least some of it is water weight.
-
I second the hard boiled eggs! I like to keep a bowl in the fridge to grab and go. I eat a lot of yogurt too. I buy plain and dress is up with nuts, dried fruit, and honey.

I just make sure I always log it. When I have a little more, I exercise a little more. It leads to drinking way less than I used to!

I love Couch to 5k! I've done it a couple times and worked my way up to a half marathon! Aside from the "slow down" recommendation, my only other advice would be to repeat days/ weeks if you feel like you need to. And rest if you need it. It's okay if it takes longer than 9 weeks, you'll get there! And once you can run 2…

Try adding avocado or hummus instead.
-
Thanks! I wonder why that didn't come up in my search? This is exactly what I was looking for.
-
Heck yeah! Make sure you keep it up!! I did C25k and worked my way up to a half marathon earlier this year, then (for many different reasons) took an extended break. At least I know how to get back to it again. Running is so much fun! I miss it like crazy.

Oh yeah! This is how it starts!! I've done lots of different exercises now, but walking is still my favorite. Wait until you see your distances grow and you can start planning different routes all over the place. You'll get to know your neighbors better too! Rock it!

I don't use my crockpot much, but the #1 thing I use it for is to cook dried beans. It's such a good deal to buy beans dry, and they have a way better texture!

When you log your activities mfp will give you an estimate of how many calories you've burned.
-
I guess I don't understand what you're asking then.

This is an all time favorite of mine, I've made it a million times. It uses ground turkey, not chicken, but I'm sure you could adapt it. http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/ellie-krieger/white-chili-recipe.html

Look like 1128 calories = about 7.2 oz cashews. Is that how many you used?
-
That would make it 1128 calories for the whole pot, right? Does that jibe with the amount of cashews you used?

I usually look at my weekly total. I don't sweat it if I go over for the day, but I try to make it up over the next couple of days, whether that be through smaller meals or more exercise. If you find yourself in this position frequently, you definitely need to add more exercise (to me, that's so much easier than cutting…

Hi! I haven't been on the site it a while and just logged back in this week. I see that the recipe tab has a new function where you can link the url to a site and it fills in all the ingredients/ calculates calories for you (double check it though. I had one recipe it left a couple ingredients off of). Have you tried that?…

Welcome back! I'm right there with you, but unfortunately ate many bags of chips before I decided to check in again. Time to get to it! At least we know what we're doing already.

Awesome job! Wow!! I like workout DVDs. I got great results from the Jillian Michaels videos, and picked them up for about $10 each.
-
Wow! What a difference!! You are definitely doing something right.
-
Awesome!! The more you do it, the more you'll crave seeing those numbers grow on your exercise log. Go go go!!!

I did this last year!!! After a couple months, people started commenting on my weight, even though I hadn't really last much. It made such a huuuuuge difference. After almost a year, I added wine back in in small amounts. Life stress hit and these became larger amounts again, and I gained ten pounds back. I'm giving it…

I think the tuna's probably the lowest in calories, but if I was you I would get whichever sounds best. If you don't want to go over on calories, just eat half.
