You should have plenty of energy for a 20 min cardio session on an empty stomach. I find being very hydrated is more important! Eating depends on your digestive tract & your exertion level. I know that if I am going to run, or do boot camp-like class, I cannot eat before (like a couple hours before). If I'm just going for…

Also not a rule follower- Colossal king crab legs, grilled in the shell with an obscene amount of farm fresh salted butter and fried coconut shrimp with that mango chili sauce... Mom's mac & cheese Fanny Farmer- aged cheddar and gruyere. NO bread crumbs. Haagen Dazs Belgian Chocolate ice cream (just a little melty) banana…

How about 10$, & you match the earnings towards college or a future car or something?! Or maybe you do it but don't tell him til he's older that's what you did? :-). FWIW- I don't have kids yet.

Do the sleep study to check on the apnea... and have you tried more protein @ bfast? Bacon & eggs are pretty awesome!
-
Protein waffle with butter!! And some walnuts- I made it this morning and so good :-)

I once ate so much in a day (bfast & lunch out w family, dessert, party that night, & alcohol) I didn't see how I make it til morning without a hospital & briefly considered it would be ok if my belly revolted & vomited bc I'd feel better. But I have a fear of vomiting & haven't done it since I had the flu in 2002, &…

Half size me is the only one I found I like so far. I tried a few others but they were not for me.

How did water ruin your life?

How do you know your metabolic rate is slow? (Did you have testing done? Which test?) Most people *think* they have poor metabolism, but they don't.

Shakeology tastes good- I'm not sure how much protein is in one... What I mean is: if you switch to a protein powder, you may not like the taste/texture compared to Shakeology because of the higher protein content.

... maybe the alcohol will dissolve the powder better than water or milk, lol

Don't over think this process, but do educate yourself by reading the stickied threads!! Have some fun trying new foods/learn to cook something delicious! It's not about oatmeal & salads. Look at some open diaries to see what others eat for ideas, too.

I am 5'4", and was 227 when I first started C25k. I think I was "running" @ 2.3 mph & probably walked @ 2.5-3.0, lol. Even now I only run around 4.0-4.2, & that's awesome, for me. My goal (a few years ago) was to be able to run for 30 minutes without stopping, and/or 1 mile, while not getting injured! Just start really…

I'm sad bc my gym doesn't have them anymore! Said not enough people were using them so they got more ellipticals/arc trainers :-(

In maintenance, don't you still need to count calories?? I'm thinking it's a forever kind of thing, bc I foresee myself not ever having serious "control" without a structured eating plan, especially after working to lose the weight in the first place.
-
No, your porridge calories are ONLY for the packet itself, and you will need to add the milk calories :-( 180 mL of semi-skimmed milk (6 oz, 1.7% fat- let's call it 2% in the US) is about 91 calories... Your porridge with milk was about 237 cal.

Expensive, but I only eat Applegate Farms (or Trader Joe's similar type). The packages are small, but is also sold at grocery stores sometimes.

Your metabolism may very well be slower, but I did a little research online, and it seems like you can still lose weight in a healthy way. Did your doctor tell you not to try and lose weight? You said you want to have a healthy lifestyle- what does that mean to you? What can you do (baby steps, not huge changes at once) to…

I have a bag in my pantry- reminds me I need to eat it :-) I usually eat it cold w chopped vegetables in a salad, but I love the "dressing" & breakfast ideas!!
-
Why? Slim fast/protein powders are Zombie repellents?!
-
Yes, daily. But not in the quantity I used to (or still really want.) Try to maintain my macro % & calories, eat fruit & veg, and will squeak something yummy in daily
-
Did you try changing macros a bit?

Nothing to do but wait. Years. I still have some from a growth spurt @ 12-13. I am decades older now. They do look much better, but they are very much still there after all sorts of "treatments". Maybe if you are really good about moisturizing prone areas before you get them it might help, but there was no way I could've…

Side note on rowing machines: my local chain gym does not have them anymore at any of their locations:-(

Fajitas are usually the best bet or a green salad if they have one. Or seafood- if not too buttery/saucy!

I have found that tracking helps me. And I moved to a more rural area w few restaurants, haha!! I had a tiny binge maybe a month ago- olives, probably cheese, tortilla chips likely, and probably something else... but I logged it and it only ended up being like 200 cal, vs the whole loaf of fresh bread & butter & ice cream…

Yup. I also tried those super early hours, but eventually realized I had to just deal, go to a different gym, or exercise outside/at home... if the problem is thinking other people are looking at you- they aren't!! They have head phones on (you should do the same to take the edge off!) & are there to take care of…

Veg soup & Hungry Girl Black Bean Burgers (omg- the burgers are SO good!!).

People who use headphones at the grocery store (?!) & while driving (!!). And the ones who max the volume, so I get to hear their crummy music, too.

Only half Greek here (in USA), but LOVE this thread :-) I think I need to buy more feta tonight!! Yes, I love food, too much, lol!
