  • Really can't take credit for the list. I borrowed it from another site where someone else had posted it. ~

  • I am almost 8 months post surgery and still get days like that. I just have to remind myself that it will probably be like this for the rest of my life so I need to be very careful what foods I choose to put in my mouth when those days hit. I find that upping my protein and making sure I am getting lots of liquids in helps…

  • So missing fried pickles so definitely going to try this... and with zucchini as well. Thanks so much. ~
  • Chili, sheppard's pie, mac & cheese, beef stew. ~

  • Made this new recipe and it was really good. You can use either ground beef or turkey. Enjoy. ~ Healthy Harvest Chili 2 tbsp. vegetable oil 1 kg extra lean ground beef or turkey 1 medium onion, chopped 1 (15oz) can black beans, undrained ( I rinsed them to cut down on sodium) 1 (15oz) can pinto beans, undrained ( same as…
  • Thanks to all for the recipies. Just bought some in the grocery store last week and loved them so wanted to know how to make my own. ~
  • I recently had gastric bypass surgery so have to be careful with what i drink, ie. no sugar, carbination or caffeine. Do not enjoy plain water since the surgery and tried adding fruit but it didn't help, so I drink crystal light to get in my 8 glasses of fluids a day. This or any other sugar free flavour packs are…
  • I drink either a pre-made protein shake or a homemade protein smoothie every day for breakfast. It's the only way for me to get all my protein in plus I don't really do well eating food first thing in the morning. Here are a ton of recipies that I copied from another support forum. Enjoy. ~ Almond Peach Delight 1 scoop…
  • I wouldn't worry about the sugars that come from fruits as it is natural sugar but I would cut out the juice as it's quite high just for a beverage. In terms of other food, just make sure to check the nutrional informatiion to make sure it's low in sugar. ~

  • I find it difficult to reach my protein levels just with food since having bypass surgery so either have a pre-made shake or make my own protein smoothie for breakfast. I buy the Premier protein shakes at Costco which are $28 for 18 shakes. They have 30g of protein and are low in fat, sugar and carbs. They are also very…
  • Wrong. Crystal light hydrates you as it is mixed with water. I was a huge diet coke drinker but had to give it up after having weight loss surgery due to the carbination. Mind you, I did cut down in order to prepare for surgery and only drank it when out for lunch or dinner. Really don't like plain water since surgery and…
  • I was diagnosed with clinical depression in 2003 which opened the floodgates for so much more. I have fibro which leaves me with chronic pain and fatigue. I also suffer from tourette syndrome and seasonal affect disorder which makes winter a really bad time for me. I gained 105lbs. over the years from the medication and…

  • I buy mine at Bulk Barn (Canada). This is the smothie recipe I use and switch between strawberries and mango but plan on trying some of the other ones. Brum's - Skim Milk, 1 cup Danone Silhouette - 0% Stirred Greek Yogourt - Vanilla Twist, 1/4 cup Strawberries - Frozen, unsweetened, 1/2 cup, Bulk Barn - Whey Protein…
  • I don't have cheat days or meals but rather treats that I fit into my counts. I usually try and do this either the day of weigh in or the day after. If I restricted everything that was bad for me it would just cause me to binge on them which is worse than just small portions. ~
  • Fantastic job! You can certainly see it in your face and waist. Keep up the good work. ~
  • My partner doesn't get home from work until around 7pm so we always eat late. I tend to have an afternoon snack around 4ish to hold me over. As well, I don't eat breakfast before 9:30am. I don't really think it matters what time your meals/snacks are as long as they are mostly healthy. ~
  • I have one bad knee from a work injury ages ago but have no problem using a stationary bike or swimming. Less impact to the injury than even walking. Maybe try these for the first week and than some walking after the knee has had a chance to heal. All the best. ~
  • You look amazing! Great job... you should be very prould of yourself. ~
  • This is what I do when I'm out. ~
  • Thanks for the healthier verson. Always want to order them in restaurants but never do because of the deep frying. ~
  • Born and raised in Ottawa. Moved to the valley in Cobden (1 1/2hrs. west of Ottawa) almost five years ago. I just bought some workout pants, tops and a jacket at Costco. All were $20 each and good quality. Used to get them at Zellers but now closed. Can't wait for Target to open in Ottawa. I buy my protein powder and some…
