  • I saw two dates of that tour. The first one was the better of the two, but both completely blew away any concert I had ever seen before. It raised the bar to a level I doubt will ever be matched. Just saw Gilmour a few months ago and while he was entertaining, the caliber of the experience wasn't even close.
  • I love their regular coffee. I add a touch of cream to it and thats it. Unfortunately there is a little Starbucks kiosk in my work. I hit it way more than I should.
  • Greenwood here..135 and Fry.
  • I am from Connecticut...but heads up.."Tri-State" is a term used in other areas too. And to the people living within that region, usually theirs is the only known usage.
  • Yeah, Waterbury was "on the way" for a lot of folks. When I meet non-CT residents that traveled the area, I always ask if they remember the cross on the hill...lol
  • Yup. In my line of work I see both. I know which is which because they are regulars. I was talking with one of the "salt daddies" and was busting his balls about his scam. He told me the women looking for that thing are ridiculously easy to con. Then he proceeded to justify it.
  • Native New Englander..currently living in the midwest. The first 16 years I grew up in Waterbury CT, then spent 16 years in various pats of Maine. I miss the region. I loved New Hampshire. Particularly the white mountain region. I miss spending time up there and I miss the food down in Connecticut. You guys have no idea…
  • As long as I have been an adult, I never had a routine of eating more than one meal a day. So now I tend to eat the majority of my allowance at dinner. I allow 300 calories for coffee and banana in the morning and 150ish for a late night snack. The rest is for supper.
  • Look for the closest in the database then pick one that is in the higher calorie bracket to be safe.
  • Yes, I do remember the quick loss when I started, but it was about the same amount and I was much, much heavier then. I kind of assumed it would scale to my weight (300 the first time 225 this time). But it makes sense. I will keep an eye on things. I guess it makes me feel a little better that so far this water loss…
  • I agree with it being different person to person. I carry my weight in such a way that even at 300 pounds I had a 36 inch waist. 100 pounds later I may be able to wear 34's, but they would be tight.
  • Congrats!

  • I came here to avoid that. The basic principle is it prevents you from eating too much food, restricting your intake, lower your calories, thus you lose weight. You can do the same thing by following what people here are doing. These surgeries are also not permanent. I know many people that pushed it and managed to enlarge…
  • I have it. It is slowly going away..but that is the key word, slowly. I have been taking vitamin E and lotioning up once or twice a day. It seems as if the greatest amount of shrinkage occurred when I took a break from losing and went to maintaining for 5 months. But it still was not complete.
  • I have been here 7 years. Not a bad area. I bet is quite different than it was. I hear traffic is worse now than even 10 years ago. Did the 2 pounds you lost come off fairly easily? It will be interesting to see how it goes now as things had slowed to a crawl back in the fall.
  • Yes, try upping your calories. I have been stalling a lot lately. It appears that MFP's formula doesn't work for me anymore. When I up my calories for a week or so, my progress picks right back up. This is all a guide and it will not apply to all people. So try going up a bit, maybe 500 off what it says you need to…
  • Well, I avoided scales for years. But there was one point I could just see I was f'n huge. So I stepped on a scale. 6' 2" 318 pounds. I hope that was the biggest I ever got, but can't say with certainty. I am currently 204.
  • Well, the body doesn't just hit up the fat. It hits muscle too and maybe even hits that harder. I was in a coma for a month. My feeding tube delivered about 1200 calories a day. When I woke up I had lost about 60 pounds and no muscle tone! I could barely lift a cup, never mind myself. Once I started rehabilitation and my…
  • 39 here. I tend to take it one day at a time. There are days where I go off track, and it effects my results. But rather than just give up, just get back on track. While the start had significant loss, I have hit times where it seemed like it was going nowhere. You have to be diligent.
  • I only talk about it when asked. The crazy thing I have experienced is I now get asked what I did. I show them this app and how it works and they lose interest. It is like they just want a magic pill that allows them to continue eating like they do and lose weight.
  • I agree that you need to lose weight and see what is underneath. The measurements only tell so much, and no two people are exactly alike. I was always told I was big boned, and it is only partially true. My arms, hands, and legs are very average to maybe even being on the long and skinny side. No hips, no butt. When I was…
  • I didn't know what was wrong with me for the longest time. I spent many sleepless nights thinking I was dieing. One night I had an attack while on a trip. I was up all night. My buddy asked what the pain was like and he said his wife had the same problem and it was her gall bladder. I went to a doctor and that was it. It…
  • I had mine out in 1998. I did gain weight. My doctor told me it was because I was eating more fatty foods I previously avoided because it triggered attacks. So that may be right, even if I am not 100% sure. I started having acid reflux after getting it out. At first it was once a week or so, by last year I was having it…
  • I have many scars and some were very red and obvious. I had a doctor suggest cocoa butter, so I used it for a long time and it did indeed lighten them. Now that I have saggy skin, I use cocoa butter all over once a day and a firming lotion before bed. It seems to be working. Though it takes time. The sag seems to firm up…
  • My entire upper torso started showing the signs first, and has taken the greatest hit with the weightloss thus far. My shoulders and collar bones are really "boney" right now and my ribs are starting to be more prominent. The gut is slowly reducing.
  • I loved it too. What I did was slowly reduce the amount of sugar until it was gone and adapted to the taste along the way. Now I can't stand it sweet.
  • I hit one around the same place (30 pounds away from the original goal). What worked for me was taking about a week (5 or so days) and eating at maintenance. Then I switched back. I gained a few pounds in the process (I am thinking it was glycogen), and they fell off quickly. I went back to where I started in about half a…
  • How active are you? I am 6' 2" and when I started here I was around 300. MFP had me start around 2300 to lose 2 pounds a week.
  • I had all 4 out, 2 impacted. I expected the worst, but it wasn't bad. I ate steak that same night.
  • It absolutely works so long as you are diligent, honest, and stick to it. The great thing about MFP is it can work for everybody. If you are a junk food junkie, it will still work. You just find that healthier options allow you to eat more. But you do not have to change what you eat if you don't want to. You just need to…
