there is a dried chia seed in the database. type "chia dried" in the search box to find and add to your diary. I entered "0.5" and ".5" and both times it worked. edit: maybe there is a glitch for your account, you can message Mike about it in tech support.
-
let's see. You are entering a new food into the database or an existing chia seed food?

don't know how low calorie you need. Cliff Builder's bars in chocolate, chocolate mint are delicious--around 250cal. Think Thin Brownie crunch bar, 230 cals. Candy: Riesen's chocolate caramels, hard to chew and last a long time, or See's chocolate lollypops.
-
enter it as 0.5

Yes, eat at least your BMR; MFP will let you go below that level but it's best not to. It's a life-style change, not a crash diet, so your calorie allowance should be something you can stick with in the long run.

Agree with AnnaPixie...seems like you should add a bit more protein. Have a protein/carb combo for each meal, and try to cut some of the processed foods. You're eating a lot of crackers, switch those out to whole grains. I have been doing "Skinny Chicks Don't Eat Salads"; it is a 50-25-25 plan, eat a carb/protein combo…

hope that works for you, keep us posted on your progress. I'm glad you decided to eat more :)

Not true. please be sure to read all the newbie threads pinned to the top of this forum.

thanks for reviving this post

You are right! The link that vickiele posted has the explanation.

It also depends on how much weight you have to lose. Obese people can sustain a larger deficit than can people who are closer to their goal weight. Read the links accountboi mentioned. Start with your BMR (calculate yours under the Tools tab). It's recommended to not eat below your BMR (although MFP will give you a calorie…

My new favorite breakfast is a slice of toasted whole grain bread with 1 tbsp almond butter, 1/4 cup cottage cheese, and sliced pear on top. I know you don't have this there, but I just love Trader Joe's sprouted grain Daily cinnamon bread!! It's a healthy and delicious treat. Good luck!

How about sweet potato fries with the burger? Plus a green veg.

I wore a HRM for lifting and would burn near 400 cals.

I agree that you should eat more. Reduce your weekly weight loss goal from 2lbs to 1lb--this will be more sustainable as a lifestyle change. Add more protein to each meal. Cottage cheese and greek yogurt have good protein levels; kashi go lean cereals are high protein; protein bars; egg whites; maybe you could try some…
-
This is sort of an aside, but if you are new then maybe you haven't customized your carb/protein/fat ratio yet? You can adjust this under home, goals, customize if you find MFP's default settings don't suit your eating style.

I have the weight watcher's scale, I got it at Target. It measures in 0.1 increments, does body fat, BMI, etc. I like it.
-
I bought the Weight Watchers one at Target last year or so, it measures in 0.1 increments, and does body fat etc. Can't remember how much, but it was a reasonable price.

I add tuna to my greek salad (tomato, cucumber, feta, olives, red wine vinaigrette).

http://www.quorn.us/products/Naked_Chik'n_Cutlet.aspx It does have textured wheat protein. The main ingredient is mycoprotein, a fungal protein.

I think you should look at information from a different source--not Corn Refiners Association! There is a ton of evidence that says HFCS is the devil.
-
what a fantastic adventure! You will remember this for a long time. Love the pics, someday I'd like to do a walking tour around Britain. The kind where the support vehicle takes your luggage to the next B&B, of course!
-
Hi I had a look at your diary, I would suggest a bigger breakfast with protein. Seems like you're a cereal kind of guy, you could the kashi go lean cereals--they have a good amount of protein. You could also have oatmeal with added protein powder. Good luck!
