Me too--just finishing week 1. This is great motivation.

I'm in week one of C25k...at this point it's hard to visualize jogging for 30 minutes. but I will stick with it! I use the Zenlabs app & sync to MFP.

Feeling great after exercising--sometimes it's hard to do it, but if I focus on how good I feel after, it's easier. I was going to put off my lunch swim today, but did it anyway. Now I'm stoked, because after work I can just relax and water the garden.

I sync the zen labs C25k app on my phone with the MFP phone app (android). At the end of the session, the share with friends page pops up. Touch the MFP icon there.
-
Mine does sync, just as zamphir66 said. The mfp logo is orange on the share with friends page.

Has anyone bought Noakes' new cook book and can give a review?

Newmeadow: Wow, she specifically asked for primal/paleo recipes and that's your response? I do a lot of recipes from Well Fed. Plus rice, some wheat, some sugar. Lots of people do 80/20 or as close as they can get.
-
I'm going to see if mine syncs tomorrow. Will let you know.
-
I downloaded the app and plan to start C25k this week. I've always been a swimmer, so this should be interesting.

When I log 45 minutes of fast/vigorous freestyle swimming, MFP tells me I burn 667 calories, which I always felt was an overestimate...I swim 1 mile in 45 minutes, that is a real fast recreational swim time, or a real slow competition time. what kind of swimming are you doing besides Aquafit? You are probably…

This. I got a lot of inexpensive workout clothes from Ross. Also, I always make sure they have a draw string so they don't fall.

This!

chicken salad, tuna salad, egg salad etc.

I've been using Thrive for a couple of months. The prices are good, and I make sure to get the free shipping too. This is hard for a single person to get over $50 in the primal mayo and other food items. I've bought my shower gel & laundry detergent from them too. But, I will only be ordering every 4 months or so. I like…

Speaking of the Squatty Potty, I was at Staples (an office supply store) yesterday. Imagine my surprise to see them for sale there!

A nice way to prepare brussels sprouts is to boil them 5-10 minutes , drain, drizzle with walnut oil, butter, and salt & pepper. Delish, and no smell.
-
Very clear and to the point! Thanks.

I recently purchased this julienne peeler, it is OK--the size of a normal veg peeler. Some of the veg goes to waste and it's hard to get them all the same length. Maybe I need more practice! http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00FF75XG4/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Can you give more information about the benefits of sprouted nuts? I heard somewhere that sprouted legumes are, if not healthy, at least not toxic, because the sprouting process destroys the toxic properties.

This is what irks me about pro-vegetarian/vegan arguments claiming that plant agriculture is less environmentally destructive than animal agriculture. They obviously don't know about the dead zone in the Gulf of Mexico, caused by fertilizer run-off down the Mississippi from the corn mono-crops in the Mid West.…

You can shred carrots & cabbage for slaw, broccoli & carrot slaw is good too. Shredded veg are great for stir fry dishes.

I agree with eating more protein...and fat too. Here is a link about snacking: http://www.gnolls.org/tag/how-to-stop-snacking/

Today I did the "Well Fed" food prep marathon...the sunshine sauce and stir fry sauce are delicious. And the caramelized coconut flakes are addictive. I'm going to be well prepared this week with hot plates and will make the eggplant strata in a couple of days.

Wow, it seems very obvious to me...glad I've gone the caveman way!

My French sister-in-law's mother makes a stewed rabbit served on top of polenta. Of course, polenta won't do here...mashed cauliflower instead?

It seems to me that IF should be intermittent, routinely skipping breakfast precludes the intermittent aspect of IF. Just a thought.

Walnut oil is fantastic on salads. I also use olive oil and coconut oil for cooking vegetables. Meats, nuts, and cream. Some butter. And full fat Greek yogurt.
-
Some people here have said they use coconut oil in their coffee and it's quite tasty. Someone else will have to verify that one, as I do not drink coffee myself.

Welcome! I think it is very easy to prepare dinner for both of you. Perhaps make any dishes with grains a separate dish; use almonds or other nuts to coat meat. Eventually your husband might convert to paleo/primal too!

The only reason I have heard to limit egg intake was because eggs were a seasonal item in paleo times. This argument was also used for limiting fruit (berries) consumption. I think this information came from Cordain's book.
