  • Sweetheart,I am so sorry for your loss. What a brave, strong woman you are. I am proud of you, also and although I have never met you in person,I feel as if I know you,by what you write and your level of commitment. You are such an inspiration for all of us,and your faith and courage are evident. My dear, may God keep you…
  • Is Zuma different than Zumba? I went to an intro at my local park and rec center, and tried Zumba. I loved the fast pace, but couldn't keep up with all the steps. My feet got tangled up! lol... When I was young,I danced(go-go) so I thought I could do it,but found it to be to hard to follow.
  • Good idea! I took a belly dancing class, when I was in my twenty's. I remember, our workouts. We had to spell the alphabet(in cursive) with our hips. It was great fun and also really whittled my waist. think I may look back into this
  • Do you pay a monthly fee for Netflix? I think I may go to my local library and try various workout dvd's and then if I like them, maybe purchase them,if I can get them cheap enough. Thanks for the tip. I'm always for tips and advice, especially when it comes to getting fit. Can never have enough information.
  • After I read your post, looked through my cable package and found free rentals. They have 4 workout video's. I checked out the one, that seems interesting. Yoga moves with some ballet moves. Tried to do a few and it was ok,but I think it was just the warm up...lol. What is a pilates band? Is it like a resistant band? I think…
  • Thank you. I had weigh in tonight. and stayed the same. I have done well all week(except for last night) and been doing mega exercise. Was pretty surprised I didn't lose. I try to eat a balanced meal, and make sure to get protein, calcium, and not "too" much sugar. I know my calorie total is always fairly low,and have been…
  • I hope your time away is refreshing and lovely
  • Those are fantastic goals! I like your variety of exercise and think I have to look for some variety also. I am new to exercise, but am excited about learning and losing inches and getting stronger. Do you have any favorite exercise videos that aren't too advanced? I found a few on my local premium channel that I am going…
  • I had a slip last night. Got some distressing news about my son and before i went to sleep, got frustrated and ate some fat free hot fudge sauce. At least it's gone now. Grrr... need to take my own advice. Darn it.Tonight is weigh in so hope it's positive. Have a great day, everyone.
  • Have a great time! That can be your goal!
  • Way to go! I had a good feeling about you, today! Glad you got some sun and exercise! Sometimes we just have to put one foot in front of the other, and make ourselves move. So glad you are feeling better.
  • Great attitude! Guess I just don't understand haters. Not in my vocabulary  We all do mess up. That's exactly why we need the support,so we don't give up and give in. I bought two boxes of the fiber one bars, and they were too yummy. I went through them fairly fast. That was awhile ago,and do feel emotionally…

  • So glad you are here. We don't need any more judgement,we are hard enough on ourself. We are here for each other,to encourage and support and to hold one another accountable. Sorry, you had the bad experience with your diary.

  • Your new"picture" is fantastic. We just have to make sure that when we have a "blow it" day, that we don't become discouraged or mad at ourselves and throw in the towel. Support means so much. When I quit smoking 4 years ago,I joined a support, smoking cessation group, and truly believe,if I didn't have others that understood…
  • Love, love love the encouragement. That helps us get past those"cruddy" days.
  • You are welcome. Trying to think on a positive note and remember all the good stuff. What a lovely list! Springtime is a season of fresh starts, flowers, grass, wildlife babies and US. So happy to be starting this spring happier and healthy.
  • Totally understand! Lonliness is a trigger for me. Can you meet up with women that are alone, too? Maybe go walking? Thanks for sharing with us,as we have all caved in,one time or another. Don't beat yourself up and get back on the wagon. I try not to bring stuff in the house, that I might binge on. Had to get rid of peanut…
  • Love your list! I think it's very special to be greatful for your challenges and lessons. Your hubby and kitties are greatful for YOU!
  • Awesome list! You son is darling too! I am greatfull for my four children and four grandchildren

  • Thank you:smile:
  • I did some research on saffron extract supplement ,and also looked at Dr. Oz and his explanation. It does seem like a promising supplement for those of us that get cravings and are are emotional eaters. Apparently,it affects your seratonin level, much like, prozac would. Saffron is safe when consumed as a food, but as a…
  • If I find myself, feeling overwhelmed with an emotion,at times,I almost get panicky,if I can't self soothe. I'm like you,I usually want sweets. Lately, when I feel this way, instead of fighting the emotion,I acknowledge it,and if I still want to eat,I make it a point,to have healthy snacks available. Cut up an…

  • Good advice! Keeping a journal is a great way to address what you are feeling. Also, having a good support system is so important. That is why I wanted to start this group,so there would be a nice place for us to come to get love and understanding, encouragement or just to vent. Have a great day!
  • I need to check out your blog. I haven't checked all the wonderful tidbits of this site. I feel as if we have a loving, wonderful group and so blessed to have all the great input.
  • Welcome to our group,Maggie. Thank you so much for sharing. I think you are being a great mother,to care so much for your little one to get healthy. Please don't be so hard on yourself. I think most of us here, can say we are our own worst critics and desperately want to be validated and good about ourselves.I gained over…
  • Good goals,Evelyn.I especially like the goal of playing with your dog. I lost my dog a year ago,and sure miss her. I have a cat now,and she makes me want to curl up on my chair and snuggle with her(not so great for exercising)..lol... I am doing Lslie Sansone's 5 big miles, and what is great about it,is it come with a…
  • Thats super to calm down those sugar cravings and not give into them. Do you know someone that you can ask to take some walks with you?I walk alone most of the time, but ask a neighbor to joining me,as it is getting warmer. It's a good way to meet new friends, and also get motivated. Check back in here, and let us know how…
  • You spoke so much truth in your post. I feel very much like you,and realized how much I look for validation in everything I do,and when it's not there,I feel defeated, and that's when I run to food.I think it's difficult,at times,to stop those old childhood tapes, playing in your head. It seems like the healthier I…
  • You have some very good tips and I am interested in learning more about your diet plan.I think adding minutes to your cardio ,and doing in small increments, doesn't seem so overwhelming. Great Job. Welcome to our group!
