  • I want to try this!
  • I like this: -FIrm Tofu -veggies (spinach, kale, cucumbers, grated carrots, red bell pepper - what ever you want or have in fridge) -lightly cook tofu and kale, combine all ingredients sauce: 1/3 cup rice wine vinegar 2 garlic cloves, minced 1/4 cup water 2 tbsp low sodium soy sauce 1 tsp Sesame oil 1 tbsp honey 1 tbsp…
  • This is what works for me: a good quality breakfast such as oatmeal or eggs, drinking 3 cups of green tea a day, taking vitamin B50 or B100 and Rhodiola. All of this helps me with impulses like over eatting/snaking. I also find a quick run stops me from wanting to eat. If I must eat, I have a banana or carrots and hummus.…
  • Oh come on, like you don't look out of curiosity!
  • I'm pretty healthy, and I do like to observe other peoples food choices at the line up. But then it happened to me once. I was getting tortillas and since I think the white flour kind stay intact better , I got them over whole wheat (which I usually buy). Some guy standing next to me reached for the organic whole wheat…
  • I make a healthy roasted mushroom soup. You can google it, it's so good!
  • You could always start with core training or do planks, lunges, squats, and crunches. Try a 10 Lbs dumbbell (meant for a single hand) and use both hands to do a bicep curl. Better yet, google a beginner workout guide.
  • In order of awesomeness for weight loss: 1. Bicycle - Hands down the best for me! (I cycle whenever I need to get anywhere, even if I'm in a dress). 2. Treadmill - Although I prefer to run outside, I can track progress better with treadmill data) 3. Pilates mat - Pilates mat is much thicker than a yoga mat which helps me…
  • I get it. This is about things you eat as a snack or in-between meals. I seen it mentioned that one should try to stick to a 100 calorie snack. Of course this wouldn't work for everyone, especially a cycler who burns 1000 calories or a strength trainer who can burn a lot at the gym. A 100 calorie snack for me in a simple…
  • I haven't read any responses yet, but have you tried cottage cheese for protein? Be careful, I think low fat has more sodium than the regular kind. I like having oatmeal with almond milk. I also substitute beans with meat like when I make low sodium veggie chilli where I add low sodium tomato sauce with spices and…
  • I'm reading two books: One is "The Power of Habit: Why We What We Do in Life" by Chales Duhigg. It's interesting (it's about how we form habits and how to form good habits, etc) but it's too anecdotal. The other is a fictional novel called "New York" by Edward Rutherford. I have read all his other books, I love epic novels…
  • I can relate. In high school the basketball coach asked me to rty out for the team. But I am not athletic, at all. So I tried out (because I'm tall) and I was so bad that the coach gave me one of those looks like "are you kidding me" total waste of time. :(
  • Ugh! Even thinking about this annoys me. I get super annoyed when I'm cycling really fast and suddenly have to stop at the street light. Suddenly the slowest person-ever rides past me in the queue and gets in front of me. It drives me crazy because I have to wait before it's clear to pass them (again), and this continues…
  • I make sorbet (sort of) I just take frozen mango and puree it and sometimes I add a tiny bit of agave. Yum!
  • Thanks for sharing that!
  • I just talked to my husband over dinner about your topic. He said your hubby kind of sounds like a prick and he would never say that to anyone......(I'm not saying he's a saint, just repeating his words, that's all). I still think talking to him about how you feel is best. I just wanted to add that my ex-boyfriend thought…
  • I know that natural peanut butter is healthy in moderation. Here's something that bothers me though, I read that all peanut butter varieties contain unhealthy mould and therefore, should be avoided. :(
  • Ok, fair enough. I retract that statement. I shouldn't have added it. Now that I think about it, I can't help but consider my Mom. Of course it's harder for her than me :( She has bad ankles and arthritic knees. I was talking about a specific person; this person uses that excuse but doesn't actually exercise (and eats at…
  • I'd be pissed. I'd probably be passive aggressive and say that someone I work with said I look great (to make him jealous). This is not good advice though. Communicate. Maybe you took it the wrong way? Or maybe he didn't realize that comment would hurt/annoy you.
  • Wish I knew where to buy, I'll have to search that. I would very much like to avoid anything canned/BPA.
  • Yes, and it motivates me to work out longer than I planned. For example, I had a 770 calorie burrito for lunch :( Now that I only have 21 calories for dinner, I must work out at least 60 minutes.
  • Yea, actually. I agree, why make excuses. You are right!
  • I wouldn't say you are trying to loose weight either. I'd say you are a nutritionist and that you refuse to eat anything processed, etc.
  • I'm the worst person to answer this because Ive never revealed I like someone - ever. But I would sooner ask someone to do something fun before revealing you like them.
  • Yeah, you can even get it in water with reduced sodium. You can also get it without water or oil. Definitely get the reduced sodium kind.
  • I don't look at it like that at all. Everyone has a different perspective. I just assumed people in their underwear are not really thinking that hard about it. It would be more effort to go find your bikini. If I were to show myself off, I would be in my undies (but I wouldn't show my face). I think bikinis and underwear…
  • Yea but....too much inflammation from over-training is bad, right?
  • How will drinking more milk help? Too much milk is bad for healthy bones, etc.
  • "running is bad for your knees" "I don't have time to exercise" "the older you get, the harder it is to loose weight" "I don't want to work out too much, I still want a feminine shape" (I've been told by people (when I was super skinny) that fat on women is sexier than little to no fat. Everyone has to state their…
  • Wow, I never knew there could be so many different ways to cook an egg and some are complicated!
