Here is an excellent article to read if you have time. It's long, but very informative. http://www.outsideonline.com/fitness/Your-Fat-Has-a-Brain.html

I'm not sure which program would be best, but I would definitely start strength training now. It will help you burn fat faster than just cardio. I take boot camp classes where we do a lot of body weight exercises. I think Insanity is similar maybe? I have P90X and I found it too hard at the beginning and very time…

I spend either Sat. or Sun. afternoon cooking for the week. I bake a bunch of chicken/fish, etc. and portion it out into tupperware. I add a large portion of vegetables to each one to make sure it fills me up. I put 1 snack serving of nuts into 5 little baggies and those are my afternoon snacks. I only bring the portions I…

I am the same way. I don't actually count calories anymore. I just use the MFP diary for tracking purposes, finding patterns and for the community support. I cut out sugar and most grains and I find that no matter how much I eat, I still don't excede my calorie allotment very often. I can only eat so many apples in a day…

I just make a protein shake and drink half of it on my way to the gym and half after my workout. I feel like I have more energy that way and I'm not too full to workout effectively.

The only time I will eat it :drinker: At 3 am, Taco Bell, Wattaburger or IHOP!

It always sounds like a good idea.... until i SMELL it.... YUCK! It's like the smell of cigarrettes to an ex-smoker... Yuck again! Anyone who still eats fast food needs to read the book, "Fast Food Nation". It will make you think twice.

Fitness is all about practicing and improving. Nove of us are perfect. We just have to keep practicing until we get it right. Just don't let one slip up send you into a downward spiral. Two days out of your life is not that big a deal. Just pick back up where you left off on Friday and account for a 2-3 day setback. I…

I try to decipher what it is that my body's really craving. Is it sweet, salty, sour, fatty? Then I try to satisfy the craving with a healthy choice. Sweet - go for some fruit Sour/salty- eat a pickle Fatty - glass of milk or piece of string cheese or handful of nuts

It sounds like people are just trying to be positive/nice. I would just say thank you and brush it off. You know where you want to be and what you have to do to get there. Who cares what they have to say...
That's great until like many plants, stevia is shown to have bad side effects from over consumption. Try cane sugar. Proven effective.
Really? What are they? I use a lot of it...

Wow, that is one heck of a commute! I'm in Crowley and work in downtown Fort Worth.

There's studies that show both sides. Sweeteners are bad. Sweeteners are good. Eggs are bad, oh wait, eggs are good. Fat is bad, now fat is good. I don't have any proof, but I've been told that most artificial sweeteners are not easily processed by your body, thus causing water retention. Just to play it safe, I use…

I completely relate to your feelings about the gym. I hate that too. Honesty with yourself is the first step and that is awesome that you are able to do that. Just make sure your "why" is true to your heart and that you're doing it for yourself, not what society thinks you should be. It's a journey that's going to take…

I've never heard this before. I love it! I also suffer from a lack of patience. This is a wonderful way of looking at it.

Weigh out your wants. Do you want that doughnut more than you want to be fit? I love doughnuts and they are my weakness, but you can't outrun one.

Wow. I just eliminated the same things from my diet 2 weeks ago. I feel wonderful, but I still get horrible cravings at night. Do you have any suggestions for that? How long did it take you to lose that much weight?

I'm right there with you. I'm a stress eater. I moved to a different state about a year ago and have not had much of a support network. It always helps to have someone to talk to. I love reading the success stories on here. It usually helps me feel better.

Hi, I definitely understand a busy schedule and I live in Texas so I know exactly what you're sayinig about the bipolar weather. While it sounds like you get quite a bit of exercise in your daily life, I would try doing some bodyweight exercises first thing in the morning, to build muscle, before you get tired/sore from…
