  • Wow that's great! I just started yesterday and will weigh in at the end of the week. I already feel great. How is it going for you? How much weight have you lost?
  • Congrats! I was sleeved July 10th of 2014 so I'm 6 months out. Feel free to ask any questions! I'm still learning as I go too.
  • I also had surgery on the 10th. I haven't had any issues with meat, but I've only tried canned chicken and tuna so far. I pureed tuna, mayo, salt, pepper onion and and a little cheddar together and it was delicious. I've also warmed some canned chicken in a pan but not until it fried, and mixed it with refried beans,…
  • Good luck! That vegetable bake sounds amazing! Do you have a recipe or just chop up some veggies, throw in some chicken and top it with cheese?
  • Hey me too! I did the detox phase for 2 weeks instead of 1 and am down 10 pounds. Now starting today I'm into the ignite phase and excited about adding the occasional sweet potato and brown rice over the next 6 weeks. I'm also excited to start working out longer and harder. It's a great program!
  • Nights are the hardest for me too. And I have a sweet tooth! I also freeze a Hershey bar and allow myself one frozen square of chocolate a night. I try to find things to distract me. I've gone as far as shutting myself in my room at 8:00 just so I stay out of the kitchen. It's tough, but it can be done!
  • Take an apple and remove the core (but keep the bottom intact). Fill the inside with frozen berries. Sprinkle the whole thing with cinnamon and a little Truvia or Splenda. Microwave in increments of 30 seconds until soft. Mine usually take 1min 30 seconds. It's so simple and yummy and gets rid of the cravings!
  • Hello Everyone. I too would like to know estimated recovery time. My aunt had the surgery in September. She said she had the surgery on a Thursday and by the following Wednesday she was back at her office job but just worked until 3:00 the rest of the week. She said the pain wasn't the worst thing, she was more tired than…
  • Has anyone had the surgery while covered by Medicaid? I am on Medicaid and currently going through the pre-op process. I've heard that Medicaid is very particular about the requirements for the surgery. I have a BMI over 40 and 2 co-morbidities, but the WLS coordinator thinks since my co-morbidities can be treated with…
  • They have a fantastic Santa Fe grilled chicken salad. If I'm craving fast food, I treat myself to one Mcdouble and apple slices. This nutrition chart saves me from making horrible choices. http://nutrition.mcdonalds.com/getnutrition/nutritionfacts.pdf
  • I just got a cut/color and eyebrow wax for $60. The salon I go to charges $15 for a cut.
  • Great post!! I totally agree. I am currently going through the beginning requirements for the gastric sleeve(4 month documented diet, proof of co-morbidities, sleep study, psychological interview) because of the kind of insurance I'm on. All insurance's are different. I've researched the gastric sleeve since September of…
