Haha that's funny your husband didn't even say anything. My boyfriend was a little hesitant too. He finally said, "you're looking really good these days...uh...not that you looked bad before. I just mean..." it was kind of hysterical. Weight is a really sensitive issue, so I'm sure people have noticed but not wanted to say…

I like Carry On by Fun. It's slow, but still has a good, motivating tune.

Why don't you go to an exercise class you've never wanted to pay for? Or buy a cute new top (for working out or otherwise!) Personally, after every work out and every time I have a day where I eat right, I think about it. I think about how amazing I feel and how proud of myself I am. It sounds ridiculously cheesy, but…

I have to eat breakfast otherwise I feel not so great. If you want to eat breakfast, I would start small - just have like a banana or an apple or something for the first week. You'll start to feel better and better as your body gets used to it. When I first started eating breakfast, it made me feel kind of sick to my…

Since being on MFP I've been more conscious of how much water I drink. I don't think that drinking water inherently makes me lose weight faster, but I do think that it helps me eat less. I have to train my body to distinguish hunger from thirst. Now, whenever I think I'm hungry, I'll fill up my water bottle first. Most of…

I just ordered it yesterday, so I won't be starting until next week, but I'm super excited! I've seen so many people with great results. I have to remember to take a "before" pic and my measurements.

Haha yes this is a good one!

My big pet peeve is if you take like 6 different sets of weights off the rack and line them up next to your mat. This one guy at my gym does this and because he has such a big range, he has like ALL the weights I need!! Also, if you're doing a circuit workout, you can't get mad at people for using machines that you are…

Okay this right here just pushed me over the edge to order 30DS online. Amazing results - you look great!!!

Wow!! I love this so much. It's true, it's exactly how I feel. I am kind of in the middle of the road. When I started this "journey," I wasn't too overweight, but I felt really, really out of shape. I felt self-conscious in the gym next to the girls who could run for an entire hour. I was so intimidated by them. But I kept…

I just try to find something similar in the database and estimate from there. I figure sometimes I'll be a little higher, sometimes a little lower, so it will even out. I would probably also try to make sure I worked out that day just in case I'm way off!

I've never heard that! I can work out more consistently if I go in the mornings, so that's what I try to do! I also notice that, for me, I tend to get in better workouts in the mornings too. I think I get tired and weighed down by food in the evenings. Some people are exactly the opposite.

For me, it's easier to have like 4 small "meals" throughout the day and then one larger meal at dinner. I tend to get hungry really often, so doing this helps me because I would almost always have a snack between lunch and dinner regardless of how many calories I ate at lunch, so it's best just to keep my meals on the…

HA I have lost like nine pounds or less and I already give myself tons of credit! I think 33 pounds is awesome and you need to pat yourself on the back more. Sometimes the first couple pounds can be the hardest because that tends to be the period when you're making a ton of changes and trying to figure out what works for…

I pay about $50, which I think is pretty good considering how much I love my gym! If you can afford to pay $200 a month and you think it's worth it, then just do it! I'm sure some people won't understand, but everyone has their thing. I spend way too much on workout clothes (I'm a Lululemon addict!), some people think it's…

When I was playing tennis with my boyfriend, I didn't get mad at him for making me run all over the court - I actually ENJOYED it. And I didn't have to take any breaks :)

Way to go!!!

I love Chinese food so I've done a little looking into this. It may be hard. Don't get rice. I'm not low carb or anything, but it adds a lot of calories. Don't get anything friend - if it says "crispy" that means breaded and fried. Teriyaki chicken is normally a good option. Or beef and broccoli. Also go easy on the sauce!…

This is probably true. I also agree with one poster who said that if steady state cardio is all you do, your body may get used to it, so you will need to change it up over time. This article is written in an extremely inflamatory tone and states a lot of absolute "facts." This should signify that its purpose is to garner…

Think about how awesome it will feel to see that person again and look your best yet! Throw your energy into working out/other active pursuits. Find a new hobby, read, volunteer - stay busy!

That's awesome!! And that sounds really fun, too!

Protein and carbs! Try a banana with peanut butter or a piece of whole wheat toast with peanut butter after your workout.

I bought some booties last night (which I NEVER thought would look good on me) and when I was trying them on, I noticed that my legs were looking really good! Like muscular and thinner than they normally look. I felt so proud of all my hard work! It motivates me to keep going because I can see that it's paying off.

Confidence and contentedness. I know I still have room for improvement, but my overall enjoyment of life has increased.

This happened to me too. My BF is like 6'6" and pretty active, so it has never occurred to him that other people have to be more careful about what they eat. Try chewing gum when he's eating. I am also not good at not at least picking at stuff that's right in front of me, so gum is the only way to go. Eventually you'll get…

It will get better!! Make sure you're eating enough protein on days when you lift. And drink tons of water. I used to feel this way, but I've found I'm actually using weights as a reward for myself now - like "okay, if you run two miles on the treadmill, you can get off and do weights." And it WORKS. You will see great…

LOL.

I gained weight when I started lifting too (like 5 pounds), but lost inches. My trainer said that's pretty common. The thing is, weight lifting will help you lose weight in the long run, so stick with it. Even after I gained that weight (and before I went back down again) my clothes got looser and my boyfriend asked me if…

My advice (what works for me) is: 1. Don't think about the long-term goals too often. Just stay focused on making healthy choices each day. That way, the task won't seem insurmountable. You can eat right and work out today, right? 2. I find that focusing on health and how I FEEL makes a big difference. Really reveling in…

Are you trying to give up caffeine? or just soda? If it's just the soda, I'd say go drink one cup of tea or coffee in the morning. If you're trying to give up caffeine, water! And you probably will have a headache and be exhausted for the first couple days. I speak from experience :)
