Mine is about 4...I joined this group because I signed up for a half in October and I figured this is the best place to get some great tips! I am not a natural runner...at ALL.

I normally do a combo, unless I am going for a longer run, in which case I only run. Most of my workouts are 20-30 minutes running (either intervals or just plain running, but usually intervals for days where I lift also), followed by 20-30 minutes of lifting. Sometimes I spend more time lifting, but I rarely ever only…

LOL "I drink wine every night, but...it doesn't affect my weight loss." <--- This is me. Damn it!

The fact that you're worried about this shows me that you're NOT at your cutoff point! So you had a setback, but you're figuring out how to move past it. That is what you have to be able to do if you're going to commit to this for a long time, so I consider this a positive!! I kind of fell of the horse last week, and it…

I had that same problem!! That is what motivated me to start using the TDEE -20% method. If you're not familiar with it, you can find a ton of information by searching "TDEE" in the forums. Basically, you can go online to a TDEE calculator and enter in your height, weight, age and activitiy level, and it will tell you what…

8, 9 and 10 are my favorites!! For a couple weeks I was getting SO mad at my boyfriend for being "wanting to be too spontaneous." Like, actually getting upset with him for bringing me a bottle of wine after he knew I had a bad day. I couldn't fit it in my calories and I actually started like screaming at him for being…

I never took a "before" picture from when I joined MFP, but when I was starting 30DS, I decided to take a "before" picture so I could really see if I got any results from the video. My NSV was actually being pretty happy with my "before" picture!! Definitely some room for improvement, but I was surprised that I actually…

It probably does have something to do with upping your exercise too if that's a pretty recent thing. I suggest having a small snack with both carbs and protein (ex. banana with some peanut butter, whole wheat toast with peanut butter, string cheese, etc.) within like 30 minutes of working out and make sure you're drinking…

I just "ran" (and walked) my first half marathon, and I'm getting kind of into running now, too! I aim for 1800-2000 cals per day and try to cook as much as possible. I'd love to have some friends to swap healthy recipes with! I'll add you.

I agree with everyone who says you're probably just hungry - which makes it hard NOT to eat too much at some point. Also (and this is in NO way scientific, just personal experience), I think our bodies get used to eating so much fat, sugar, salt, etc. and it learns to crave those things. Today, for example, I wasn't really…

It just feels very refreshing for some reason. My gym has it in these little cooler things that are really pretty, and it tastes SO good after a workout. It just feels like it cools you down more for some reason (that is probably completely in my head).

Oooh I'll have to try this - that sounds amazing!

You can basically use it in place of pasta in almost any recipe you have. I've done it with a bolognese sauce a lot and that tastes good, but I've also seen it in baked, casserole-type dishes also.

Agree with everyone who said coffee (or tea) and wanted to add GOOD LUCK with the Bar Exam. I took it two years ago and it is (not to freak you out) a pretty hellish time. I basically subsisted on take out and five hour energy shots (clearly, I took the healthy approach...). It's great that you're setting aside time to…

Try making plans with a friend to meet at the gym in the morning. That way you'll HAVE to get up. I also agree with everyone else who has said to put your alarm across the room so that you have to get out of bed to turn it off. Then RESIST THE URGE to get back into bed!! Get everything ready the night before. The last…

When you put your hands on your hips and you realize you are actually touching your stomach and back at the same time!

Wine. I have cut back quite a bit, but I will never not crave a glass (or three) of red on a Friday night...

My friend just told me about this half marathon and it sounds SO amazing!! I am also a new runner, so having something like this to work to is such a big motivator! Keep it up with the C25k and remember - it's okay to go very, very slow at first. At least I had to. You'll be so proud when it's over, though!

I am in a similar situation. One of my friends has always kind of struggled with eating issues, but recently she started losing SO much weight. I know she's NOT doing it healthfully (she basically does not eat anymore), but I still can't help but feel kind of jealous in some ways. Just remind yourself that she actually…

Running or walking on an incline will help too. Ever since I started training for a half marathon, my boyfriend has been telling me that my butt is bigger. Which he apparently intended to be a compliment...

Wow what a terrible thing to have happen at the gym!! I would definitely be hurt and embarrassed by that also. Remember this: there are more important things to be than thin. I know that's like blasphemy on this site ;) but wouldn't you rather be intelligent, kind, honest, etc. over being thin?? Next time someone insults…

I saw the pictures in the wrong order and I was like, "wait, she's bigger on day 15?" but then I realized my mistake. So YES, you can definitely see a difference! I am starting 30DS this weekend so your progress is really motivating.

One bad day in 2.5 months? (ETA: Okay, my math skills are clearly lacking. 1.5 months is still an amazing feat, though, so my post still applies!!) That's amazing! You can't undo it now, so don't dwell on it. Forgive yourself and move on.

I sometimes sit in the steam room. To me, it just feels kind of luxurious to relax for a minute in a spa like setting after a workout. I normally don't have much time to do that, so when I do, it feels incredible! Plus, I love how refreshing it makes my shower feel. I don't think there are any health benefits to it though,…

I've been there once before, but definitely did NOT get anything remotely healthy. I would try to get a small steak (not chicken fried, obviously) and then a side of veggies. It's hard to go wrong with a reasonable portion of any grilled meat and a side of veggies. I don't think this place is known for it's array of…

The Neeleys from the Food Network have a really good one! It does use a lot of blue cheese, though, so in the end I'm not sure it's necessarily that much healthier than regular meat loaf, but it tastes fantastic!! Recipe is here:…

I agree 100% with this sentiment, but can I just say how upset Kate Upton would probably be to be lumped in with Kimmy K here? ;)
-
Yep 100% agree. I've made a lot of recipes from her site, and they all taste great! Not only that, but my boyfriend, who is a pretty manly man meat and potatoes dude actually LOVES everything I've made from here (I don't normally tell him it's healthy in advance... ;) ), so I feel like we're both happy with what I make for…
