@msarobix Yes, I had to cancel ZK and our road trip. My father is getting excellent care at the VA Hospice and we are spending time with him, taking care of my stepmom's death arrangements, packing up the house, sorting out the finances, and trying to find a probate attorney that the court says we have to have. It has been…

Thanks for all your warm thoughts. Please keep us in your prayers! My stepmom did pass away on Wednesday night and hospice never called me to inform me. I found out through a FB message from my dead stepsister's husband! We immediately got in the car and drove to Southern Florida to be with my dad. While traveling, I got a…

Hi everyone! We got home Saturday after a 25-hour trip home and I was exhausted. We went to bed at 3 and I was up at 6. When I called my parents, the news was bad. My stepmom is in a coma and is only expected to live days or hours. Hospice told me that when she dies, my dad will be all alone and he needs 24-hour care…

We got home last night at 1am (after being up for 25 hours!) I woke up at 6am. I gained 4 lbs this month but I don't feel too bad since we were traveling. Hopefully it will come off quickly. Happy that I completed the May goal on my Apple Watch (158 miles for the month of May). June Challenge - Reach exercise goal 14 times…

We arrived in Copenhagen after a 27 hour plane adventure. Lost our luggage but they found it and sent it to our hotel today. Having a great time! I had over 27,000 steps today. Dinner is in our hotel room (fruit and cheese that we bought at the grocery store.)

Happy Monday everyone! I notice that whenever we eat out, my weight goes up about .5 lb. There's so much salt and who knows what in my food even though I feel like I'm making good food choices. I have turned down ice cream every day for the past 3 days so hubby has eaten it all. Now there is no more ice cream in the house…

Well, I worked 6 hours gardening the first day and then 8 hours gardening yesterday but my exercise ring never closed. I'm sore all over (arms and backs) so I KNOW I exercised! LOL We are having the big tree cut down on Monday and my yard looks fabulous. I am feeling less stressed so I'm getting back on the wagon. I even…

Well, we've had some bad storms this past weekend. A limb off our tree went through our neighbor's window. Now we are getting estimates to cut down the huge tree. I didn't realize this costs thousands of dollars! Hope everyone is doing well.

@msarobix I hope you are feeling better! I hate being sick. Thanks for the info about the rock climbing! It seems like it would be doable for me then. @KeriA Glad your weight is back on track. I think paying attention is probably helping you. I think my weight is up because I know I haven't been eating healthy. Plus I'm a…

I've been watching my food (as it all goes in my mouth) so I gained a little. Now I'm back to eating better. I tried eating "just a little" of the bad things and that didn't work. Now I'm back to "all or nothing" and choosing nothing. I also increased my running time on the treadmill to 12 min. walk and 3 min. run four…

@msarobix I'm sorry you are hurting. I hope they find out the cause. I know that is how I felt when I was having chest pain that gradually got worse. When it got to where I couldn't walk from the car to the store without hurting and breathing hard, my hubby insisted that I go to the doctor. She believed (along with the…

@KeriA Glad you are feeling better. Excited that I finished the March Challenge and got my award (Apple Watch stuff). Even though I didn't exercise yesterday since it was my rest day, I worked in the yard and by the end of the day I still had over 13,000 steps. Icing my foot in the evenings has really helped the pain. A…

Well, the doctor confirmed I had plantar fasciitis. I now have inserts in my New Balance shoes (she recommends this brand and I already have them) along with some stretches I need to do before and after exercising. She also told me to ice it every evening. Hopefully, these steps will help the pain go away. @msarobix That…

@KeriA Hope you are feeling better. Glad you are able to support your daughter. @msarobix I have to exercise first thing in the morning or I know that I will get busy (aka lazy) and won't do it later on. I hate that darn water retention! When we cruise (We are about to do cruise #60 I think), we always try to get midship…

@CdnChick Congratulations on having a nicotine-free body. Are you logging in your food? On the program I'm on, it reminds us that we can outrun our mouths so don't eat more just because you are exercising. Are you drinking enough water? Are you measuring inches? I just read a great book called Finish by Jon Acuff that says…

Welcome @janetay01! This group has really helped me keep up my exercise and stick with my healthy eating habits. I keep a notebook and log in my measurements on the first day of the month. Sometimes I don't lose weight but I lose inches so I consider it a win! :) @msarobix I love your exercise routine! I still have some…

@mynacha73 Wow! You have been busy! Glad to see you again. I'm excited that I've lost another pound. Like Tina, I go up a little and then down a little (I weigh every day) so it depends on how much salt or water I had the day before. But this morning I was down in a new territory!! Yippee! I'm also excited about our…

Back down to what I was before I went to the beach this past weekend. It was definitely water retention!

Yesterday was better. I did my workout and drank a lot of water so today I'm down 1 lb. Hooray!

I like the monthly challenges with my watch too. My challenge this month is to reach my exercise goal 13 times. I have no problem getting my steps in, my movement and my stand goals but I really struggle with closing my exercise ring. This is a good challenge for me. I also like getting the awards when I reach something I…

I'm getting ready to go to Myrtle Beach for a conference tomorrow. I've already come up with a plan for my eating. Hubby and I will go out for breakfast each morning. A vendor is bringing us lunch tomorrow during set up which I may have time to eat or not. Tomorrow night we are going out to dinner with friends who I…

@kimmie373 My hubby isn't a gym guy either. When we can get outdoors, we walk together every day because there is a nice trail near our house. When we go to the end and back, we walk 3 miles. :) Glad you are exercising sensibly! NSV - Hubby told me that he can tell I have lost weight. He was surprised and said usually the…

Welcome back @kimmie373! I commend you for wanted to get back to being active but I hope you don't try to go from zero to 100% all at once. This could lead to injuries and pain. Maybe you can gradually increase your activity times rather than try to close the rings all at once. I give myself one day off to let my muscles…

@msarobix That is one of the reasons I like the Naturally Slim eating program. It is not restricting my diet but because I'm changing the way I'm eating, I am eating fewer calories. This past week I had pizza (only 2 pieces instead of my usual 4) one day, macaroni and cheese (one small helping instead of eating the entire…

I'm so excited! I have lost another pound! This is the lowest I've been in a year! Now I hope I can keep it off and continue to lose. I really think changing up my activity routine is kicking up my metabolism and got me out of the plateau. @msarobix Just so you know - my name, Loonyhiker, doesn't have an "e" in it so I'm…

@BackInSoFL I had a Fitbit for years when it finally died on me. My hubby really wanted us to get Apple Watches so I gave in rather than buying a new fitbit. I needed a new watch anyway. I like how I can send messages from my watch, answer my phone, turn on the lights in my house, and use the timer on my watch in addition…

@tiff0227 I use an apple watch to track my fitness.

The guy came to repair the treadmill today and after putting in the new motor, he turned it on. The metal scraping sound was still there and he was horrified. Apparently, the motor never was bad. After searching, he found out that it was the metal washer he put in between the belt and plastic at the end of the walking pad…

@msarobix As active as you are, I'm sure it will come off quickly! I made it through Valentine's Day without too much trouble. A friend gave us a heart-shaped box of candy which we have not opened. I did buy some Coffee Cake Jrs (Drakes) which is something I grew up with and couldn't resisit when I saw them in the store.…

I'm doing a happy dance! I am down another pound this morning!
