  • Thanks you all :). It's amazing how success breeds success. I know it won't last, but it sure feels good while it does.
  • Today was Toad in the Hole - sausages, yorkshire pudding, mashed potatoes (with cream and butter), cabbage, broccoli, and onion gravy. Chocolate mousse with raspberries. So, so good.
  • This past week has been a tough one. I feel like I lost nearly all of my OMAD ground. But, there was so much going on - with illness and being 'off' from travel - I just decided to let myself 'be'. I'm not in a race. I'll get there. So, I just did what I could do, and whaddaya know? I lost three pounds last week.
  • Thanks. No, it really isn't much at all. Normally I don't gain over the holiday season, but this year we were traveling, and between all the family and special events, four days of plane travel, and being in a new country we likely wouldn't return to, I feel like I did alright. One of those pounds is already gone. It's…
  • It's our second day back home and back to work, and our vacation already seems like a distant memory. Fasting wasn't too difficult, we slept in most days, so if I didn't eat breakfast, no one seemed to notice. Dinners were so much larger than I'm used to, even one meal a day was easy to achieve. The only difficult days…
  • Hi all! Been away for a while ...literally. We've been on vacation, but headed back in two days so I'm starting to get back into the swing of things. Will check in when I'm back home.
  • I am the opposite. I really like vinegar. I made some flavored vinegars a few weeks ago - honey ginger and raspberry balsamic. Mixed with fizzy water, it's one of my favorite drinks
  • I was thinking the same. I have definitely found it much easier to just not eat rather than to stop.
  • Ah, the sunshine. Only a few more days and it will start back to us. I am counting the days :) Today we woke to about 6 inches of new snow on the ground, and a daytime high of 3F. Thank you for the winter greetings from Sweden! I never made it to Sweden, though I have been to Denmark and Norway.
  • I have cats - one of whom subjects us to siamese yowling over the things he resents. He wants to go out, but it just isn't so much fun now with that wet white stuff everywhere. He just does not get that complaining won't make it warm and dry again.
  • Exactly. Attitude is so important, and the scale messes with mine. I just want to focus on consistently doing what I need to do day after day. The results are sure to follow.
  • Thanks for all the support. I am not giving up. I'm going to put my scale away (It messes with my head) and just focus on eating right during the eating hours, and extending the not-eating hours a bit at a time.
  • So, here I am. I find I don't want to leave this group. Can I stay even if I have 2MAD? o:)
  • Nope. I did not eat or drink a thing outside my eating window. I have a special event coming up, so I've been very strict with myself. I am not a 'snacker' - even the sound of that word is like fingernails on a chalkboard to me. And to be honest, I really enjoyed fasting, if that doesn't sound weird :)
  • I am wondering if this is the right thing for me after all. When started IF with a 14 hour fast and it was so effortless I barely even noticed it. It was better than that, because I felt great, ate what I wanted to and lost 5 pounds the first six weeks. After 10 months of slow gain, I was quite pleased to say the least. If…
  • Thank you OMADing :)
  • How fun. I can't wait to be able to say that!
  • Thank you! I feel like your example and support will be a huge help to me! I can't get over how welcoming everyone is here. I was going to jump in with one meal, but after reading posts here and watching some of the videos, I decided to be gentler with myself and just narrow my window over time. For the last couple of…
  • Hi Linda, I'm with you on the holiday food thing. My family agrees with me, though, so that helps. This year for Thanksgiving we decided to ditch other people's traditions and rewrite them to suit ourselves. In fact, we had Chinese takeaway in a hotel room this year.
  • Hi, I'm Sun_cat - or just Cat 5'5", starting with a goal of a 20 lbs loss. I'm not sure what my final goal will be. 58 years old, hypothyroid, desk job. My biggest challenge: I really don't want to talk about what I'm doing to anyone in my real life yet. My challenge will be maintaining my schedule around other people.…
  • Thanks to all of your that shared your stories. It really does help to read about what other women like me are doing - and how they are succeeding. I haven't found what will work for me, but I take heart from your stories that if I keep trying, I will.
  • Hello everyone - I discovered this thread today, and thought I'd jump in as well. I'm still trying to find what works for me, and hoping I'll learn a thing or two from the collected wisdom here.
  • I need to lose about the same amount. I'm hoping for 10 by the end of the year. I don't know if that's possible, but I am going to try.
  • I know this is a really old thread, but I was looking for Vive threads. We bought one a few weeks ago - I would love to chat with other Vive owners. I haven't ever been a serious gamer - but this may transform me :)
  • It's nice to see so many geeky types!
  • I haven't been around much lately, but will try to check in more often.
  • It varies, but usually beets or green chiles
  • I have thought this myself. Sometimes I honestly don't recognize myself right away when I pass a mirror.
