I just listened to this interview the other day: http://lowcarbmd.com/episode-61-dr-nadir-ali-interventional-cardiologist-brings-it which deals with the high LDL issue.

Thanks for posting this. It's very helpful.

I tend to be an over-achiever in most things - and diet has been no exception. Now I'm just trying to over-achieve my own personal best and ignore anyone else. But, two weeks in and though I haven't lost anything this week, I haven't growled at anyone either.

Thanks for the tips. I actually upped my magnesium and I feel like it's helping. Maybe that's the trick for me. Fingers crossed anyway.

Thanks for the replies. I actually have a head of cabbage I was going to make soup with - I think I'll turn it into sauerkraut instead.

This is very interesting. What is perhaps most interesting to me personally, is that this is precisely what my 18 yo college (engineering) student has been theorizing about recently. He noted that when he was home over winter break he was not as hungry, and not eating as much as he did at school. The school has notoriously…

Hi Donna. I started here a few weeks ago, but only got really serious this week. It’s been a bit of a shakey start, but managed a 18 hour fast today quite easily. Not seeing any loss yet, but hoping that follows soon.

I just joined today. Starting tomorrow.

Hi all, I just joined the 60 club a few days ago and became an 'empty nester' a few days before that. Life has been so hectic lately, pretty much everything has gotten away from me. I don't like the way some things in my life are going and feel like the time to change it is now.

I am finding it quite difficult - even over what it was two years ago.

Hi there!
-
Hi! I'm not actively trying to do anything with food/exercise right now. There's just too much else going on. Things will settle down soon.
-
Thank you. I haven't read the entire section yet. I"ll make time to do it.
-
Thank you!

I just got Beat Saber. It's supposed to be a decent workout. I've only played a few times, but I can see why.

I logged in today looking for just such a group or thread. Over the last couple of months, I've tried various things recommended by other people - and they just don't work for me. The only thing that feels right is intuitive eating.

This is likely the best thread I've seen so far. I started 2017 at a much lower weight than I started 2018. It was not a good year for me in many ways, and one way or another the scale just started inching upward. I've been facing those unpleasantnesses and managed to halt the gain, but now I'm at my highest ever weight.…

Meg, I was thinking the same about having your clock part 3-d printed.

Hi Stephanie, I'm new, too. It's so nice to have a group like this.

Wendy, I don't know if this is something you could do, but I use a small crockpot at work like a double boiler. I've been doing that about 10 years now. Works beautifully. (ditched microwaves about 15 years ago)

Thanks for the welcome! Just call me Sunny. Soon to be 60, mom of 3, grandmom of 3 living in Colorado.

Hi ladies! I just posted in the over 50s group- then as I was about to log off, saw this. I can't believe how lively this thread is. I'm not sure I can keep up with it, but I like your style :).

There are so many things I'd like to change, but instead I've decided to focus on three habits a month. These aren't specifc, measurable, etc - I'll fine tune later so I can track progress. But this month's focus 1. Reduce caloric drinks 2. Eat only at meals 3. Do something active every day

Thank you for this. It will be very helpful.

I, too, believe in the theory of a setpoint. It makes perfect sense to me, especially given what I've experienced over my life.

We usually have eggs for dinner once a week, since we have chickens. Last week the eggs were in the Yorkshire pudding. This week those eggs will become crepes. (Just to clarify, Toad in the Hole isn't a breakfast item - never heard of anyone eating it for breakfast anyway. Some Americans I know do something they call Toad…

Hmmm....

I had a similar problem with the antibiotics a while back. It really threw me off having to go back to eating often so I could take my med. I just don't like how that feels anymore. Hope things are back on track now, or will be soon.

I am not familiar with those books. I just finished 'Ready Player One' and started another in the Montalbano series.
