I think that's good advice. If you don't find something sustainable for you, long term it's not going to be effective. When you start and stop you just keep getting more and more discouraged. Maybe you can meet with a nutritionist? Diet is more important than exercise really - not dieting, but finding an eating plan that…

If you have set up realistic goals on MFP you should definitely eat back the calories, unless you're really not hungry. It's important to find something longterm sustainable for you, it's different for everyone. Especially with so many other people depending on you, it's got to be really hard to find the time and energy to…

Hi, I have a no-fail consistent BSCB recipe, based off this - http://www.onegoodthingbyjillee.com/2012/04/my-house-seasoning.html Basically I do; - flatten BSCB's to an even thickness - season both sides (can vary - salt+pepper, bbq seasoning, taco seasoning, add what you like) - heat pan to medium-high heat - spray with…

I often prelog, but not always exercise. Sometimes I'll be more motivated and do better. Generally my major meals I've got prepped in advance so breakfast/lunch/dinner are often prelogged, but snacks vary. Sometimes I'm just not as hungry, or I've burned more calories and have a couple extra snacks. I think I actually…

I didn't allow myself many cheat days until I'd lost around 50-60lb, probably just a couple times a month. Now I'll do a cheat meal, not a day. It's too frustrating to put in all the work then blow the margin just for 1 day IMO. Anyway I'll usually do like, a bacon cheeseburger with fries and some bourbon old fashioneds..…

Tonight some of my extra calories are going to be in the form of bourbon. They are definitely much, much superior than normal calories so I'm forced to agree :-)

I stop eating at 10pm regardless if I ate enough to hit my calorie goals.. cuz otherwise I'll be faced with a low willpower snacking situation when midnight rolls around and I'm watching something stupid on the telly ;)

The largest single day swing I've noticed is 179.4 down to 175.6 - I weigh my lowest after my run on cardio days (currently 1h at 6mph). Generally I seem to swing about 2-3lb from morning weight to post-workout weight, I don't weigh my self before bedtime though.

The last book I burned through in one sitting was Gaiman's "Ocean at the End of the Lane". I dunno how to define the last "truly great" book though. I recommend different stuff to different people. I just gave someone a copy of "Ask the Dust" which is about as great a novel as I can think of but it's not for everyone..…

Hmm.. okay: Ask the Dust - John Fante Wind-Up Bird Chronicles - Murakami Ethan Frome - Wharton Kind of depends on what genres you like. 'A Brave New World' definitely stands up to the test of time, but there quite a few great dystopian novels out there.

My feeling is that there are too many fantastic books out there to waste time with bad ones. I've definitely given up on my fair share (which includes all of Faulkner :D)

Hullo there! I'm Rob and I'm an alcoholicl^W reader. Anyone on goodreads? I have a profile there: http://www.goodreads.com/user/show/449771-robert Um.. I like pretty much every genre.. but lately I've been reading Atwood's newer trilogy (Orxy & Crake etc) and some Jhumpa Lahiri. I adore her, she was just in Seattle. I…

Welp, weight is just an arbitrary number, but I'm shooting for 175 and plan to stay between like 179-186. If I don't like the way I look/feel at that weight, I'll plan on 170 and staying between 174-181. I figure I'll naturally fluctuate several pounds and won't worry about it unless I get 10lb from my goal weight when in…

I basically have the same schedule for breakfast and rotate a few things for dinner and snacks; breakfast - kind bar (almond) - 2 eggs + spicy chicken sausage snack 1 - protein shake with skim milk (after workout) dinners - crockpot shredded chicken salsa + small corn tortillas - extra lean ground turkey + onions/garlic…

I tend to eat similar things and cook in batches so it's not so bad. I think it ultimately saves more time to prep stuff in advance. Also has the added benefits of making it easier to stick to an eating plan and everything stays towards the top of the list..
