thanks everyone for the thoughts. I remember someone mentioned some kind of vitamin or something also that helps. not sure......

I did it in Orlando back in January. What a blast! I wouldn't be to nervous about it. I didn't train at all and didn't consider myself a runner to say the least. It's a lot of fun and no one that I was running around really took it too serious, so every one kinda supported and helped each other. Heres my pics…

fajitas are really simple. I do chicken and cut it before cooking, then marinate it in lime juice, cilantro, garlic and a little water. The lime juice will actually even "cook" it a bit before you grill it. I have a grill griddle that I can just toss on my stove and I use that. Grill up the chicken, some pepper and onions…

I would get a pedometer so you can start tracking your steps and distance and i would definetly count it, especially the stairs. I got a pedometer at walmart for $5, nothing fancy, but does steps and miles, you can also set goals on it.

I just finally got serious and started again. I was at my lowest in college around 120, now back up to almost 150, yikes. Been trying to at least 5 days a week and do some sort of other physical activity on the other days. I have my first official weigh in on this Friday, so we'll see how things are going! Good luck and…

Maybe its just the type that you are on. Once I switched from Yasmine to Yaz, Yaz only had 3 sugar pills as opposed to the whole week. I was sick almost every day! It made me feel misserable and not so much fun throwing up :( Ask your doctor for a sample of a different kind and that may help.

Yes, I actually live in Orlando and right outside is Clermont. There is a winery called Lakeridge and all they make is muscadine wine. They have about 10 different types of wine, including sparkling and its sold at Publix all over the south. I never heard of it until I was taking my wine class in college and I went there…

I have one that screws into the door frame. The door still shuts and everything and the screw holes are pretty small, so if you're renting you can patch them very easy when you leave. I don't know if they sell cramp ones or if I'd trust it. Think about the amount of pressure it would need to hold? I couldn't imagine using…

welcome! does your school have a gym? that's always a great plus and helpful. When I was in college I went to the gym whenever I was bored, actually lost weight in college.

I do a lot of soups. I love soups because you can really toss whatever you like into the pot and let it simmer. One that I did, which was packed with veggies was a sorta creamed tortilla soup, I guess. First, I roasted a bunch of veggies in the oven like onions, green & red peppers, jalepenos, zuchinni (since it doesn'…

I love to put spicy whatever on everything...cayenne pepper powder, hot sauce and if at a mexican restaurant I dump their hottest salsa they have on my food. I read somewhere that eating spicy foods actually increases your metabolism. Not sure if its true or not, I just love deadly spicy food! Way to go on opting out of…

If you do "free step" then you can go as long as you want. what's neat is the wii remote will make a clicking noise to keep you on step and then you can actually watch tv at the same time and the wii will keep working and tell you whne your done.

I just started running too and my knees and ankles joints are sore, especially in the morning when I first wake up. Supposedly, its just your body getting used to it and it goes away. We'll see. With the cramps, I thought I heard somewhere, maybe from my husband, that its due to lack of oxygen to the muscles. So make sure…

Unfortunatley, it was like 15 days prior...so I didn't even know about the race til i saw that. Not sure if they will have it everywhere, So if your heart is set on doing it, I don't know how long you'd want to wait before biting the bullet and doing the full price.

Also, sometimes you want to do those things because you are bored. Next time you want to fill up on junk food, do an exercise instead or drink a big glass of water. Sometime people confuse thirst with hunger. You don't need to cut out all of your favorite foods either, just do them in moderation. Maybe as a small weekly…

I did the warrior dash in Florida. My Bib was 50445 if you wanna see my pics or video on the warrior dash stie. I am not a runner and it was my first "5K" and actually I'm glad I did that instead of a real 5K. It's like the obstacles almost provided a small break from running, lol, if that makes sense. Thanks to all of…

I also laughed when I read that. Sometimes, frats will do water drinking as an initiation.....BUT usually its a different kind of liquid they are forcing people to see how much they can drink.

Not sure where you are, but with our cable we have a ton of "on demand" channels and one of them is work outs on demand. There's probably like 100 different work outs and tons are cardio and dancing. Its great to mix it up. Search through your cable and see if you have a channel like that. Also, stepping is great and you…

I was doing "fit to firm" and i liked it a lot! What's good about it is there are 3 different levels for you to follow at all times, so all 3 girls are doing slightly different moves. So, if you need to be on easy for aerobic activities you can, but then maybe your moderate on some weights and maybe some exercises you want…

You will get dirty! but that's half the fun. Literally had to scrub myself about 3 times in the shower to get all the dried mud off. After a while I realized some of what I was scrubbing was bruises and NOT mud. There's a few more I'm looking at in Central Florida if any girls out there want to run one with me? I…

Thanks, just got my results.... So, I placed 4,049 out of 5159 overall and 423/617 for my age division. My time for the Warrior Dash 5K was 50:55.10 with a pace of 15:46/M

That'd be awesome if you could send me a copy, too! I own my own company and it can be hard to get dinner going, love the crock pot, but not always the healthiest. thanks! ashley.k.casey@gmail.com

I also had Wii EA active, the first one. I think it's somewhat good, but seems to only work and build lower muscles, not much cardio and abs. Just Dance 2 is my favorite, I really try to dance like them so I definetly work up a sweat! I do have Wii Fit and not too impressed with it, some of the things are good, like Hula…

I agree, those songs are good to get moving too and it sounds like the play list from Just Dance 2 for Wii. LoL. I love putting that in and dancing to a few songs. It's actually a great cardio, as long as you are really trying to dance like them with your arms and legs. My husband and I will compete, so it can keep us…
