ROTFLAO... your husband and my husband must be related.... He NEVER remembers where he puts things and them stomps around the house looking for it and starts thinking we've moved them and then when he finds it he remembers why it was there. AND when he cleans up he just stuffs things in the drawers!! That drives me bonkers…

I don't like dirty dishes in the sink either but crumbs on the counter drive me completely nuts!

Welcome aboard! Speaking for a man my husband joined our family in a "healthier lifestyle" back in January. He lost 50 lbs and now is in maintenance mode. He just ate better and watch his intake and went to the gym three times a week doing 1 mile of walking and 15 minutes of strength training to tone. He has always been…

I have to try the Almond Milk I almost picked some up the other day. Okay my grocery list... lets see... I always get fruit about one or two of whatever is on sale along with apples, oranges, pears, bananas ( I have a basket on my counter at home and on my desk at work), brocolli is always in my basket (husband is…

Yes you can drink too much water but its a lot of water. I've read that its recommend that you drink 1/2 of your weight in water. I usually drink between 100 and 128 ounces a day.

I know all too well what you mean about the junk food. There are certain junk food items that I can't be around because they are so tempting. There are a few suggestions I have: 1. I agree get the junk food out of the house. If you have to go to get it you are more likely not to eat it. If you have family members that want…

Totally agree!!! I didn't know that it could be fatal until my daughter who is studying in the medical field pointed it out one night even though I always take my medicine. It can be extremely dangerous if you let it go. I can usually tell when my doctor is going to up my meds because I start having no energy what so ever…

Thanks Jenny for the warm welcome. My blood sugar has been under control but it has and probably always will run higher than a "normal" person. I also take Melformin. My A1c is 6 which is great and right in the normal range. About 2 years ago I started noticing the numbing and tingling in my feet. That's when I found out…

Hi everyone, I'm Colleen and I've been using MFP for about 6 months. I'm 42 years old with health issues that sometimes slow down my body but never my mind and spirit. I have a great support system. My family's journey (husband, daughter, son-in-law, and myself) began about 6 months ago and collectively we have lost over…

Howdy, being a diabetic can be tricky because you have to play by some different rules. You can change your setting but I would talk to your doctor about what it should be for you. I'm at 35% carb, protein and 30% fat.... but because I eat a lot of fruit I increased my sugar to 55. My doctor said that 50 -55 is fine as…

Good morning! I know exactly what your saying. I've fallen into this trap before myself. I know what its like to have health issues that can limit your movement. I am a diabetic so I have to eat well to keep my sugar in check but I also suffer from diabetic neuropathy. I can't take anything for the neuropathy because of my…

I'm very proud of the weight I have lost so far on my journey. For me its a life change not just a diet. I didn't just need to loss 20 lbs I needed to lose 100 lbs to be at a healthy weight. Being over 100 lbs overweight with health problems and being over 40 just made my journey challenging but not impossible. By that…

Welcome Welcome Welcome! this is a great site to help and support you. I agree with what many have said. Eating healthier and changing your diet slowly will help you stay on your path. Step 1 is to know you can do this and to know that nothing tastes as good as being healthy feels! Step 2 Remember this is a journey....…
