Nice ideas above for food. I understand the safety aspects that would keep you from doing anything on deck, was just suggestion that depends on the boats you are on. You'll have to google isometrics, it's been around for years but doesn't use equipment, not a moneymaker for gyms and products so not in vogue. It's kind of a…

Eat what/when you can in their galley, but sounds like your best bet is continuing to bring your own stash of nuts, dried fruits, and the protein bars. Maybe whey protein powders? What about dried kale chips? Vegetable chips-like potato chips but made with sweet potatoes, taro, beets, carrots, etc. Cheese sticks? Bag of…

Wraps. Like breakfast burritos with refries, or black beans, green chilies, olives, tomatoes, salsa etc. My favorite is a greek breakfast wrap with kalamata olives, feta cheese, scrambled egg, bacon, tzatziki or greek yogurt. Or curried chicken salad with apple slices. Or Goat cheese with fruit chunks. Pizza type wraps…

Lots of good suggestions above! I like to buy the rotisserie cooked turkey breasts in the deli section of the grocery store and make wraps, , throw in salads. I buy lots of greek yogurt-fat free and low sugar. May add peeled sections of a cutie (mandarin orange) or low sugar cranberries, few sliced almonds into it. I…

I agree with what you have said. I guess Im going from personal experience, as I have Hashimoto's. My own personal feelings of wellness coincide with my own labs. When they are good, I'm good, but that does not necessarily apply to everyone. We are all different, and respond in different ways. As can be seen by all of the…

Your lab tests are all in the normal range so it appears your Hashimoto's is currently under control. I agree with the post above, see a nutritionist to get you started in the right direction. Also, if you do not exercise, start walking (or some other form of mild exercise) to begin a path to a healthier life. You are here…

Isn't it surprising that things you used to like and crave now seem gross? I think before I eat now, and if there is not much in the way of nutritional value in it, I don't want to ruin my macros for the day. Not to mention, if I eat just one, like chips, it is so hard to not eat a second, third.... Nice job!

Definitely as others mentioned above, you have to check the nutrition stats of the foods you pick from the database to add to your diary. Each one of these was entered by someone, and the entries are only as good as the human who entered them. An example: I was logging EVERYTHING, and was astounded at the grams of sugar I…

For all of us who are cold all the time, an ad for this shirt just popped up on my computer screen earlier today, haha

My oven was broken for awhile and I had to wait for parts. You can get creative with microwaves, just find foods you like and reconfigure the recipes for microwaves. One of the things we liked was to cook spaghetti squash in the microwave, then on the stove top make or use store bought marina sauce, adding things like…

Haha---Went out and photographed bears in a river. I can't run as fast as them, but at least I can move better with each pound lost. (Not supposed to run anyway, it entices them to a "chase") Just need to run faster than the people around me. Thankful for zoom lenses :p :p :p

"SiegfriedXXL; Perhaps your friends are jealous of your success, you have found the willpower to do something that none of them have been able or willing to challenge. In their eyes, being wild and spontaneous with their diets is certainly more fun than "healthy eating"? Also look at the way you approach being with them,…

Excellent idea, Candjmunoz! Uncle Visa usually buys me one luxury for the holidays, think I will adopt your idea, and will benefit my health AND my bank account. Happy Holidays to both of us!

Wonderful progress! You can do it.

I broke my knee cap last June (2016). I am in my 60's. I hit up the PT, worked out on their machines on my unscheduled days, and did exercises and stretches at home too. Did everything I could to increase mobility and heal. Cross country hiking with poles really helped. At 5 months I did a 5K (race walked on icy road). It…

With the posted times you eat, no wonder you are hungry. You eat at 9, then lunch 5 hours later, then dinner only 3 hours later, then you go 16 hours with no food! As in comments above, you need to find a healthy snack you can eat late in the evening that will tide you over until your morning breakfast. There are a lot of…

I am a late evening exerciser too for the most part as I just can't make myself get up early enough for more than the last-minute dash off to work. Probably because I can't seem to make myself go to bed early enough. But if you feel a bit of morning exercise will help your day, try the one-mile walk workout with Leslie…

@1Nana2many my condolences to you on the loss of your brother. You did a wonderful thing to bring him to your home and make him comfortable, and to grasp those last family moments together. Peace to you and your family, and many happy memories.
