I started doing this too because I'm doing some circuit training and it definitely is burning calories!!!

I went through a similar issue with sweets in general, particularly chocolate. I finally just had to go cold turkey and leave it behind me. It took an incredible amount of self discipline. Now, I have SOME sweets, usually once a day to satisfy my cravings. You can have 24 nestle chocolate chips and they are only 70…

I had the same experience today! Scale said I had gained back 2 lbs, but I put on my jeans that were tight when I started this and now they are loose!!! WAY TO GO AND GOOD FOR YOU!!!!!

FANTASTIC!!!! Good for you!!!

Take a day!!! I just took yesterday off because I was beginning to feel a little run down. Today I was able to hit it pretty hard and still had energy left over!! (I'm going to save that up to have another big day tomorrow!!)

I want to start it too, I'm just waiting to get clearance from my Physical Therapist from an ACL sprain. I was wondering the same thing because I dont know that I would feel like I've burned enough if I dont do something else!! I'm interested in these answers as well.

I did up my protein when I started using this site as well as my fiber intake. Less carbs, but more of the carbs from fiber. Also, if you have an iPhone or iPad, the app for them provides all this information for you. I'm very disappointed that this portion of MFP is not available here on the website:(

Thats great! Best of luck! I'm a little further north in Cleveland, OH. Its the Cleveland Rite-Aid Marathon/Half and 10K. I've done it before and better believe I can do it again!!!

If you're going to add miles and time to your running, you're going to eat more. When I was training, I used to get hungry too. I know people arent crazy about this, but I would eat carbs, like whole wheat pasta and it really did fill me up. I dont know about you, but hardy meals seem to be the only cure for me. I would…

I think the elliptical is such a great calorie burner!!! I use it as my base cardio workout. I also run, but I've healing from an ACL injury and cant run that much right now! MFP is also a great tool for you to use!! Congrats on your success so far and keep up the good work!

This has been an incredible tool for me to use to help reach my goals. Instead of actually writing in a diary, I put all the info on MFP and viola! All my goals are shown to me!! AND, not to mention the online support from other friends and members!! ITS GREAT HERE!
-
Welcome to MFP! I've gotten a lot of support here too! Add me as a friend if you'd like another shoulder:)

I take a B complex and Iron as well. According to my daily nutritional intake, I am getting plenty of iron as well. If this does continue for more than another week, I think you're right, I should talk to my doc!

Part of that inaccuracy in my diet was from when I was on vacation. I'm wondering if my body isnt still rebounding from that as well. Thanks for the advice on the net calories. For the first month I dropped 14 lbs with that much, but I think you're right, that I need to bump up a little. I do work out pretty vigorously so…

Creating a schedule is key. I am not a stay at home mom, but I was laid off in September and finding a routine was key. The first week or so I couldnt get into any sort of pattern. But then I started making lists of everything I needed to get done in a day. That very next day, I just dug deep down into my core and said…

I take a women's one a day, D3 to help with SAD and a B complex for energy. I'm thinking about adding Flaxseed oil as well. Good luck!!

I'm not an acoholic, but I did/do have a food addiction (which I'm sure just about everyone here can understand). While we may not be able to understand your particular disease, we do understand addiction. You've come to a wonderful place to find support without judgement. Everyone here has been very supportive and…

Hi Shelley! I used to work in the fast food industry and believe it or not, that's where I lost over 90 lbs! Being "Over" the food definitely helps, but I do understand getting that little craving once in a while. My trick was to have just a little.. JUST a little and actually build my day around it so that I would adjust…

I have a pair and I like them, but I dont know about the whole toning thing. But I do think they've helped me with my posture. I feel like I stand a little straighter now. Hope yours work out for you!!

I know what you're going through. I quit smoking 3 years, 1 month and 3 weeks ago (not that I'm counting!!). I still have my struggles, but eventually it does get easier. Best of luck and congrats on your success so far!

I went through this same thing many years ago. I went from a virtual couch potato to running a 10K in less than an hour in about 5 months time. It felt great! My next goal was for a 1/2 marathon which was another 5 months away. I started training to hard and fast for it and ended up injured. I was laid up for about 3…

Keep us posted because I'm very interested in hearing the result of your HR; if is a concern or not.

I started using MFP in mid January and have found it a big motivator for me. I have more accountibility now that I have to log in somewhere, show everything I've eaten and how much I've exercised! I've struggled with this 25 or so lbs for quite some time, but so far I've been focused for longer than I usually am. I feel…

Absolutely amazing!!! Good for you:)

I have a somewhat similar story. I've been a yo-yo'er too a large portion of my adult life. Seven years ago I lost 95 lbs and kept it off for a good year or so. Eventually 10 lbs came back, but I still was strong and it was an easier weight to maintain. I then quit smoking and gained about 15 lbs. Then life got in the way,…

Sounds like a pretty tricky situation. I cant say one way or the other for sure, but if I remember correctly from my contract it has to be written in. Have you checked with the agent yet? PS, congratulations on your loss!!! You've done an amazing job!!!!

Hi, I have trained on and off as a runner for 7 years now. I'm pretty sure that is very high. To calculate your max heart rate take 220, subtract your age and since you are very active you can add back 10. This gives you the max your heart rate should be. You really should only get to 80% of that. I would suggest if your…

I too have suffered from depression for many, many years. I have been on medication for it for over 7 years so I think I probably know a little of what your challenges are when it comes to mind, body and soul. Currently I'm on a trio of medications. They doctor told me that none of them would cause issues with my weight,…
