I can't find any studies, but know my nutritional science professor taught me that any unused calories will be stored as fat. Regardless, if for some reason protein couldn't be stored as fat, which I just don't believe I still would limit my intake. Why? Excessive amounts of protein would overwork your kidneys. I will take…

US: Miami Outside US: Brazil or Peru. I really want to go to South America haha.

WoW. Excellent choice! Easily, Sweet Dreams are Made of These by the Eurythmics. I grew up with this song as a child, it has a catchy dance rhythm and lyrics that are easily memorized.

Yeah I would say unless it is someone close to you that knows you are working hard, I wouldn't get upset if someone were to say you're so lucky to be so thin. I would just take it as a compliment (even if a little back-handed). Say thanks and mention you have worked hard and unfortunately can't eat whatever you want…

As you don't have a whole lot of weight to lose, you may need to switch up your exercise routine and/or calorie intake as your body may have adjusted to your current weight loss regime. You could try zig-zagging calories (one day 1200 next day 1400 etc) or do one day of High Intensity Interval Training, the next day Kick…

Okay, that makes more sense. That is good, as no one should hate themselves no matter how they look. Getting healthy should be all for one's self and not merely to appease others.

Gender: Male Age: 22 Height: 5'9 Weight: 138 Goal Weight: 135 Ultimate Weight: more muscular 140. Anyone remotely similar? I know I am quite small haha.

Wait was this thread really about being content with being obese? Don't get me wrong I am all for everyone feeling good about themselves no matter what weight they are, but isn't this website about starting healthier lifestyles?

To me Eminem looks his age, that said Dr. Dre looks easily 10 years younger than he actually is.

Unfortunately, that is true. I am roughly 5foot 9 inches and 138 pounds and clearly have fat over my lower abdomen and have experienced similar comments. The fashion industry/ models glorifies "extremely skinny" and then the other side describes "normal" as what I would call slightly overweight.

The day Barcelona got destroyed by Bayern Munich. May 1st!

Pretty much. I love to eat; however, do not want to get big. Thus, I tend to run or cycle a lot. :)

I personally have no problem with the company only carrying a certain size as a "TON" of fashion companies do this. Personally, I love Daniel Cremieux; however, they do not offer a small sized shirt as they are trying to appeal to "men." And everyone knows an adult male can't be a size small right? That said it is quite…

I haven't been able to follow a lot of Rugby as it is never on in the states; however, from what I have seen I love. Also, a huge fan of Chris Ashton. So you not a huge fan of Rugby Union I take it? Seems like I everyone I know either likes Rugby League or Union, not the both of them? :)

He was a legend. My hat goes off to him indeed.

Hi everyone. I am 22 and soon will have finished my last year as a Graduate Student! Anyone on here feel free to add me for support. - Kyle

I don't understand cheat days at all. I would say plan a cheat meal or two a week; however, to plan a whole day to binge is not a good idea. Unless you are refueling muscles after a huge run/ swim such as: Michael Phelps, you shouldn't be planning a day of eating this much more than your regular daily need. Just my…

Hey! Well I am finishing up my last year of graduate school for Accountancy; however, I am starting to sit for 4 examinations called the CPA. I passed the first part I took; however, I can definitely attest to the stress, anxiety that you must be going through also with medical school. Anyone feel free to add me as my…

Calories byyyyyyyyyy far in my opinion! Some parts of India/ Asia consume around 60%+ diet from carbs (a lot of white rice, which seems to be viewed by many as "unhealthy/refined" and they seem to be doing fine!) That said as for refined carbs, particularly such as white sugars etc. it really depends how active you are. If…

Well I currently don't have "6 pack", but did in HS. All I can say is moderation on a lot of the stuff you eat. You don't have to cut out sugar, rather limit it and get natural sugars such as those coming from fruits. I would say a balanced diet with fruits, veggies, lean proteins (eggs if vegetarian, beans if vegan) and…

Well the heaviest I got was when I spent a semester abroad. My eating was wake up eat some cereal, steak and ale pie and or sandwich of some sort, start drinking cider with my flat mates, then end the night chowing down on a doner kebab. Oh how I miss Doner kebabs.

Hey everyone! I am a 22 year old that is quite active on MFP so if anyone would like another supportive friend feel free to add me! :)

Another thing you could add would be a little bit of Apple Cider Vinegar (very sweet taste); however, it really seems to help cleanse your skin. Also increasing the amount of fruits and veggies you eat will be another way to get more water in your system, without the "taste." Examples are celery and cucumbers, which are…

Oh I do sometimes! I actually have some really good natural honey (not the fake artificial junk!) I also sometimes, just put a little almond milk and other times drink it black! :)

Really depends on how you define "starving." If you eat less than you expend you will lose weight, simple as that. The problem with "starving" aka eating too much below your Basal Metabolic Rate is that not only will you lose fat cells, you will lose muscle cells as well. This can have negative effects on your body all…

Yeah I personally have recently starting using stevia more often. That said stevia can be quite sweet, thus I bought a hazelnut flavoured stevia liquid extract and a drop in my coffee is enough. I think I have had the small bottle for over a month and still have plenty left! For water though, I would recommend getting some…
